Why does OTC teeth whitening products make my teeth sensitive?
How do these products work and why oh why does it make my teeth so sensitive?
--------------------
It's the solution that is making your teeth hypersensitive and probably irritating the tissue as well. Use warm salt water rinses for the tissue truama. This solution of carbamide peroxide can dehydrate the teeth and opens the tubules for the whitening process. You need to either "reduce the time" each day you wear them, cut back time and "skip a day" in between bleaching, or "stop" using them altogether and "see your dentist for professional bleaching" trays or the one hour process. While the teeth are sensitive, avoid dark drinks and food and hot or cold drinks or foods until the teeth return to normal. The darker drinks and foods can just re-stain the teeth while the tubules are open during the times your sensitive. Brush with a fluoride tooth paste or use a fluoride rinse to help close the tubules. Excessive stimulation can cause permanent damage to the nerve of the tooth. Use caution with any OTC product, especially where your teeth are concerned. Hope I've been of some help and good luck with your bleaching process. Additional information: If you've used this product before and never experienced this, it could be that the last one was closer to the expiration date and not quite as effective and perhaps this one is stronger or newer on the shelf.

Teeth whitening with hydrogen peroxide and baking powder?
Hey, Ive recently started doing this each night before i go to bed; Mixing up some baking powder with some hydrogen peroxide, brushing visible teeth with it, then rinsing throroughly and then brushing with a different toothbrush and with regular tooth paste. Has anyone tried this? If so how long will it take to notice a difference? Thanks in advance X

After trying this a few months ago, I saw results after five days. I now have abnormally white and strong teeth. Using whitening toothpaste afterward helps, along with some rinse with the same duty.

Teeth Whitening: Over The Counter Products From Boots Etc?
I would like to get my teeth whitened but cannot afford professional dental fees at around £300. I am aware that places like Boots offer DIY teeth whitening products which are cheaper-but do they really work? Anyone tried any of these? If so was it any good? Thank you

There are several types of products available for use at home. Some of these tooth whitening products can be easily purchased off the shelves of pharmacy while others are dispensed by your dentist. One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations. Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels. In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth. Are you tired of these teeth whitening ads on the internet?
I am.

, Be careful because brushing your teeth with baking soda more than once a week can cause serious damage to your teeth enamel. You might want to use whitestrips or an actual teeth whitening treatment instead. I found some free trials that I posted on my blog that work great. You can see how much of a difference they made on my teeth.
