Are there any bad side-effects to getting your teeth whitened?

Just wondering :)
--------------------
With chemicals, there's always some type of side effect. If you are getting it done at a dentist, you can ask them. If you are buying a kit, they'll be on the box.

Does Colgate "Simply White" tooth whitening gel expire?

So... the other day I found this package of Colgate "Simply White" tooth whitening gel in the closet upstairs and I've been thinking of using it to whiten my teeth. It's never been opened, never been used, and has been sitting in the closet for a very very long time. I opened it tonight and saw inside the instruction booklet, it actually has some coupons that expired in 2004, so I'm imagining that the product itself is around 6-7 years old, lol. I'm basically just asking does this stuff ever expire?? I'm planning to call a pharmacy and ask about it, so as of now I'm not gonna use it juuuuuust yet, lol... Another concern of mine is that on the label it says it's supposed to be a "gel", but when I unscrewed the cap the product seems watery... not like a gel really. I'm kinda worried that might be a sign that it's too old to use or has expired somehow??
--------------------
It likely won't do any harm to you but it probably has separated (therefore it's watery consistency). It probably would whiten your teeth still but may be to runny. If I were you I'd just toss it and by a new one.

Whats is a good teeth whitener?

I smoke and drink coffee almost everyday. My husband told me I should NOT whiten my teeth because I smoke and theres no sense. Is there a good product that lasts? I have tried a few treatments but a few days later I notice the stains are back. Is brushing your teeth 3 times a day bad if you bleach also? Please dont recommend whitening toothpastes- I have used several and I am looking for more dramatic results. OH, and I have sensitive gums.

Hi, Lot of people do face problems with yellow teeth. The reason for yellow teeth can be less calcium, smoking or coffee. Some people face problems like yellow to faint yellow teeth also because of too much brushing or using products which harm teeth. While baking soda or peroxide can make your teeth white but it is not recommended. Dentists world over do not recommend use of such pure form substances on teeth as they harm your teeth in longer run. Not all whitening trays are good, in fact many people have complained about irritation and pain with trays. Lot of people want white teeth so that they can smile big and don't get embarrassed while talking to friends and colleagues. Such people can use teeth whitening pens which are 100% safe for your teeth. The best thing about these products is that you can easily get FREE trial to have white teeth. You may order your free trials and have white teeth. You just have to pay for the shipping and handling. Its always better to try before you buy and I am sure it will work for everyone including you. BTW the website where you can get such free samples is http://www.freeteethwhiteningsamples.com… - Its the first top product listed there. I am not promoting the website nor am I associated with it in any manner. Just trying to help someone who is worried about bad/yellow teeth. Hope this helps. Thanx :-)

how to whiten your teeth yourself?

i have about £15 i have quite white teeth though i want then shining white asif they have been bleached . i know home kits arnt very good and dentist bleaching costs hundreds . what ways are there to bleach your own teeth i heard peroxie ? or ? please help and type of answer wellcome :) xx
--------------------
Trays and strips are the most effective at-home choices for dramatic whitening, say dentists. These "barrier method" whiteners keep the peroxide solution against the teeth for the longest time. Daily use can whiten teeth five or more shades. Most brands of trays and strips recommend you use them for around 30 minutes a day until you get to the desired shade (usually at least a week). For the most dazzling results, look for higher concentrations of peroxide combined with longer application times. Home Whitening Method: Brush-On Whitening Brush-on whitening in principal is a great concept. Just brush on the formula, allow it to dry on your teeth, and let it stay on your teeth overnight. Sounds simple, right? In reality, brush-on whitening is designed for the segment of the public that is in love with shortcuts. (In other words, for those people who don't want to spend the time to do it right the first time). Home Whitening Method: Teeth Whitening Strips The second most common type of home teeth whitening is using whitening strips. The main lure of this type of home teeth whitening is their simplicity of use. However things to be aware of with this method are that strips do not completely cover all over your teeth. Teeth have gaps and grooves which the strips find hard to reach. This leaves some parts of your teeth darker than other parts. The end result may not be satisfactory. Home Whitening Method: Trays With Bleaching Gels Trays with bleaching gels provide the best combination of the most affordable and most efficient tooth whitening available. Gel kits are very similar to what you would get by visiting your dentist for whitening.

What should I use to whiten my teeth.?

I want to whiten my teeth, I found 2 options to use. The first option I found on HowCast, which said to use Baking Soda and hydrogen peroxide. Or should I use a normal whitener, and which whitener should I use?
--------------------
Use baking soda 1 time each week and hydrogen peroxide. I also recommend to use an teeth whitening system like : Idol White Teeth Whitening or Alta White Teeth WHitening, they offer a risk free trial (check the source box site for more informations), so you can see yourself it this really work for your teeth. Also this are not expensive products and can be used from your home comfort, without great efforts. Hope this helps !
