Teeth Whitening.....?

Hi. I get my braces off next week and would also like my teeth whitened. How do I go about getting it done? Do I ask after I have had my braces off? Or will they ask? Or what? Thanks.
--------------------
Some places ask, some don't. Simplest solution is to just say something when you go in.

Teeth Whitening?

So I'm getting my teeth whitened this weekend. Is there anything painful in this procedure? I've never done this before. Anything negative about it? I'm kinda nervous. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!?
--------------------
They will make a mold of your teeth. You will bite down on this puddy-like stuff to make the impression. This isn't painful. They will make the mouthpiece from the mold in a couple of days and you will go back to the office to get your mouthpiece & gel for bleeching the teeth. Some folks have gum sensitivity, but I had no pain at all.

Teeth Whitening?

I bought the classic teeth whitening strips today and used them only once so far today. My teeth didn't hurt at all and I figured that maybe this time I would be lucky with them, (because I've used them before and they killed me!). Well, not until later this evening did my teeth start feeling sensitive.... Does anyone know of a way I can whiten my teeth without pain, or do you know how to help with the pain i'm experiencing with these strips? Thanks

Yes, go to a dentist

Teeth whitening?

i got my braces off and my teeth arent as white as they used to be. Any suggestions for whitening on a budget?
--------------------
Well, "budget" is pretty subjective, but my dentist turned me on to Tres Whites, and they worked great. He charged me $100 for a package (7 trays for 7 applications to both uppers and lowers) but I've since found them online A LOT cheaper -- http://www.dentist.net/tres-white-melon.… You only need to use them once or twice a year, and they worked great for me. None of the stuff at the grocery store (white stripes, Rembrandt toothpaste, etc.) seemed to work at all on my teeth, but I did find that the Rembrandt paste helped my teeth stay whiter longer after using Tres Whites. They come in three flavors, and it only takes 45 minutes to an hour a day for one week to see major improvement. The only downside is they make your teeth pretty sensitive for a while. Lasts another week or so after you're done. It's uncomfortable, but not intolerable by any means. Seeing as the dentist charges over $700 for custom trays, this seemed like a bargain. Not to mention the fact that he's the one that told me they work just about as good as the $700 job. Good luck! Straight teeth are great, but straight white teeth are awesome.

are sage leaves safe and effective for teeth whitening?

.
--------------------
I not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten ur teeth. Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth! For home remedies. Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month. Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening. Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth. Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains. If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you! Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night More on http://www.myinformationz.info/teethwhit…

What (cheap) Methods Do You Recommend For Teeth Whitening?

Any tips, free, cheap or less than a British tenner!!
--------------------
I use a tiny bit of baking soda with hydrogen peroxide which makes a paste. This is what they use for teeth whiteners, but be careful with the peroxide it may cause sensitivity to your teeth. If that is the case, just use the baking soda with a little water. Best of luck

I was really wanting to get white teeth for all my holiday pictures so I did some research and found a couple teeth whitening products that work without having to spend hundreds of dollars.

Can you use four whitening strips at once to avoid them only covering some teeth?

I've heard that with crest whitening strips they only cover about six teeth on each row... Can you just use two strips on each row, like two top and two bottom, so that they cover twelve on each row..? Or are they specially designed to fit certain teeth..? Thanks!
--------------------
You ain;t into whitening.........your into dissolving your teeth! These things contain chemicals be careful! I wish I had the teeth you are counting and would hate to think yur numbers would be reduced to mine too early in your "I wanna be whiter than white" life!

What is a good teeth whitening product?

What really works? Crest white strips? What works? Anyone have a good answer or do you think all these products are a waste of money? I smoke too btw, but thats not the question, what are good products?
--------------------
Fortunately, there are many ways to alleviate the damage done to your teeth. Well, I will briefly describe some of the more effective teeth whitening methods available today. While whitening trays are an effective teeth whitening method and often yield satisfactory results, The tray is placed in your mouth and worn for about 60 minutes each day for a couple of weeks. But the process is just too long for some people. A significant advancement in teeth whitening occurred with the use of laser technology, which makes it possible to achieve in a one hour visit to your dentist results that used to take weeks to see at home. One of the best teeth whitening methods available today, laser teeth whitening involves placing whitening gel on your teeth and then activating it with light from a laser. This activation greatly increases both the speed and effectiveness of the whitening process, resulting in your teeth being whitened by as many as ten shades. On the downside, though, while laser whitening is one of the most effective teeth whitening methods available today, it is also the most expensive option as well, and can cost as much as $1000 per treatment in some cases. For those who are unwilling, or unable, to spend that kind of money to have their teeth whitened, a more economical - though less effective - whitening method is the use of teeth whitening strips. Whitening strips contain a peroxide based whitening agent similar to that used in other teeth whitening methods and are placed on your teeth for approximately one hour each day for about two weeks. While whitening strips are able to considerably whiten your teeth, the major drawback is that they only come in contact with the front of the teeth. This makes the gaps or spaces between your teeth even more noticeable as the front of your teeth are whitened. For some this may not be a problem, but for others it may rule out the use of whitening strips altogether. I've made the most comprehensive research to find the best teeth whitening products, and you can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/mc72j5

What is the best teeth whitening product?

I've seen all the tv commercials and magazine ads but what really works? =]
--------------------
One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations. Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels. In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth. Teeth Whitening?

Okay so we all know that toothpastes dont actually whiten teeth So i'm looking into getting my teeth professionally "laser" whitened or whatever. Does anyone have any info on this they can give? What diffrent procedure are there? What are the price ranges?...
--------------------
Tooth Whitening Treatments What should you ask your dentist? What is in-office bleaching? What are at-home procedures and products? How should I choose a whitening product? What should you ask your dentist? You may want to start by speaking with your dentist. He or she can tell you whether whitening procedures would be effective for you. Whiteners may not correct all types of discoloration. For example, yellow-ish hued teeth will probably bleach well, brownish-colored teeth may bleach less well, and grayish-hued teeth may not bleach well at all. Likewise, bleaching may not enhance your smile if you have had bonding or tooth-colored fillings placed in your front teeth. The whitener will not effect the color of these materials, and they will stand out in your newly whitened smile. In these cases, you may want to investigate other options, like porcelain veneers or dental bonding. What is in-office bleaching? If you are a candidate for bleaching, your dentist may suggest a procedure that can be done in his or her office. This procedure is called chairside bleaching and may require more than one office visit. Each visit may take from 30 minutes to one hour. During chairside bleaching, the dentist will apply either a protective gel to your gums or a rubber shield to protect the oral soft tissues. A bleaching agent is then applied to the teeth, and a special light may be used to enhance the action of the agent. A number of in-office bleaching agents have the ADA Seal of Acceptance, your assurance that they have met ADA standards of safety and effectiveness. Lasers have been used during tooth whitening procedures to enhance the action of the whitening agent. No whitening products using lasers currently are on the ADA list of Accepted products. What are at-home procedures and products? There are several types of products available for use at home, which can either be dispensed by your dentist or purchased over-the-counter. Bleaching solutions. These products contain peroxide(s), which actually bleach the tooth enamel. These products typically rely on percent carbamide peroxide as the bleaching agent, carbamide peroxide comes in several different concentrations (10%, 16%, 22%). Peroxide-containing whiteners typically come in a gel and are placed in a mouthguard. Usage regimens vary. Some products are used for about twice a day for 2 weeks, and others are intended for overnight use for 1-2 weeks. If you obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he or she can make a custom-fitted mouthguard for you that will fit your teeth precisely. Currently, only dentist-dispensed home-use 10% carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels carry the ADA Seal. You also may want to speak with your dentist should any side effects become bothersome. For example, teeth can become sensitive during the period when you are using the bleaching solution. In many cases, this sensitivity is temporary and should lessen once the treatment is finished. Some people also experience soft tissue irritation—either from a tray that doesn't fit properly or from solution that may come in contact with the tissues. If you have concerns about such side effects, you should discuss them with your dentist. Toothpastes. All toothpastes help remove surface stain through the action of mild abrasives. "Whitening" toothpastes in the ADA Seal of Acceptance program have special chemical or polishing agents that provide additional stain removal effectiveness. Unlike bleaches, these ADA Accepted products do not alter the intrinsic color of teeth. How should I choose a whitening product? When selecting a whitener or any dental product, be sure to look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance—your assurance that they have met ADA standards of safety and effectiveness. Price ranges are all over the place. Depends on where you live and individual service providers.

i used the whitening strips, and they worked. but they really arent the best for your tooth enamel and i think in the long run theyre more damaging. instead try a tooth paste with whitening or get it done at the dentist if your case is really bad...

Teeth Whitening?

I'm thinking about getting my teeth whitened and I have seen information at mall kiosks where they have all of the "tools" for whitening but you actually put the gel in the tray and put it in your mouth, etc. and in 20 minutes, you have a whiter smile. Anyways, I am wondering if anyone has had this done or has any additional information on it as it is a reasonable price (not cheap, but more reasonable than a dentist) and I want a sparkling smile!!! Other whitening suggestions are welcome! I would just prefer something that I can do all at once instead of using strips for a month or gel trays every night for weeks at a time. Thanks!
--------------------
Brush them with baking soda once a week before you brush them normally; gently whitens them and generally gives them a nice good clean. Tatses icky for a bit but you can just brush them again with your regular toothpaste to get rid of it

I was wondering what process and/or product to use for whitening my teeth... Any help is greatly appreciated.

consult a dental expert before choosing an at-home teeth whitening system that has quality ingredients that can deliver safe and effective whiter teeth results in just a matter of time. discolored and stained teeth are caused by the food you eat and the drinks that you take in. be wary that the most common culprits that can stain teeth are colas, coffee, tea, chocolates, sauces, plum, red wine, etc. try to avoid these culprits if you want to maintain white teeth. the use of straw when drinking colas and iced tea will be much helpful. for more tips on how to whiten teeth visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com
