I was just wondering if their was an age limit to when you can get your teeth whitened? I am 16 and can not wait to have them whitened as when I was a baby I needed more than loads of medicience that discoloured my teeth to a lovely golden colour... yes you heard me, a gold colour :(

If your parents will give their consent and you have the right amount of cash for it, then you can have it done at any age. Some celeb kids get it done as soon as their adult teeth come through just to retain that 'hollywood' smile, so you should be able to have it done pretty soon. Good luck!

Baking soda is an abbrasive which means it can wear away the enamel. You can buy toothpaste with whitening that does the job better. I love Crest Vivid White. It's $3 for a tube. I can tell a difference when I don't use it. Also, if you're looking for a quick fix I love the Equate Whitestrips at Wal-Mart. They come as cheap as $14. The only drawback to any of these whitening products is a little sensitivity.

I use the pro effect crest white strips and I only saw a lil dfference. Will my teeth get whiter if I go to the dentist?(Will get it whiter, or will it get white?) The dentist said it would cost 200$ (Canadian) Is that a reasonal price?

I have had yellow teeth practically half of my life. That is just disturbing. I have hated my yellow teeth. My orthodontist said that I have mild crowding and my treatment for braces starts in June. So i am getting braces in like December of 2009. I am really nervous. Could you guys tell me if they whiten your teeth after you get your braces off? Don't be nervous. I haven't gotten my braces off yet. It doesn't hurt when they put them on. Just take some Advil right after your appointment so it doesn't hurt after 4 hour they put them on. Make sure your teeth are really dry, then just paint it on with the little brush. You will have to keep your mouth open and your teeth dry for about five minutes afterward so it can fully dry. The best way to do this (it works for me) is to stuff a washcloth or bandanna into your mouth. Don't use off-brand stuff or it may yellow your teeth. And don't use colored correction fluid, only white. Please do not try the idea of mixing peroxide and baking soda. That is how they made mustard gas in World War I.
