how can you whiten teeth fast?
i have been trying to whiten my teeth for a while now and nothing seems to be working! i don't have the money to go out and get my teeth whitened by my dentist or to go out and buy whitening products. i have heard peroxide and baking soda can help but i have tried it and it irritated my mouth. what should i do help!!!

I fill the small cap of the hydrogen peroxide with HP, and fill the rest of my mouth; comfortably so you can still swish it around, with water. I've been asked by so many people how I keep my teeth so white. I learned this from my father when I was younger. Plus, the HP is wonderful for your gums!

Is phosphoric acid bad for your teeth?
Ok, so I've been reading about phosphoric acid after I found it on the list of ingredients on a teeth whitening product. Acid? Is that just eating away my teeth?? Isn't that the ingredient in Coke that makes it bad for your teeth? wikipedia says it is sometimes used to whiten teeth, but is it safe? by the way, the product is "5 Minute Speed Whitening Gel" by a company called Plus White (www.pluswhite.com) thanks in advance!

In office 1 hr whitening such as Zoom or rembrant, etc... it contains approx. 36% or more home whitening contains any where from 12-20% depends on the product. It's not safe if you put 36% on the teeth for long time because it will "eat"away your enamel. Also it will burn your gum instantly. home whitening kit that contains 12-20% will burn your gum if you put it on for 1 minutes or more. That's why you shouldn't use such product on your own without dentist next to you. Why we use them? because concept of whitening is to etch and remove external stains on the enamel. over time, saliva will replenish and mineralize your tooth. If you do it too frequently, your teeth will be sensitive and you will forever damage your teeth. Only way to desensitize is to use stannous flouride (gelkem) prescribed by dentist. But i've seen some of my patients needing Rootcanal treatment due to overexcessive use of whitening product. All those crappy whitening gel when used correctly might give you a happy result once, but it not work several times. It will in other hand damage your teeth if you abuse it.

I've got a bit yellowish teeth,but I would like to get them white. I don't want anything that is expensive or anything that damages the enamel, I have considered crest white strips, but they only last UP TO a year.Can I whiten them and after that just keep them white by washing and flossing? Ok. This is what I do. I wet my toothbrush, and put a pea sized amount of toothpaste on it. Then, I get a metal spoon, and scoop some baking soda out of the box, and rub the toothbrush on the spoon, which in turn picks up the baking soda onto the brush and toothpaste. Then, I brush as I would regularly do. Hope this helps :)

Those toothpastes are more abrasive and help remove stains pretty well. If they are stains from inside your tooth, nothing will remove the stains, not even professional bleaching systems. Only thing to do in that case is have your dentist make porelain or resin veneers for you.

While Crest White Strips are the best, they are quite pricey. I usually brush my teeth with baking soda after brushing with tooth paste. Basic Arm and Hammer works just fine. It takes a little longer than the pricey stuff, but ti does work.
