Teeth whitening is certainly a cosmetic procedure, whether you have it done with a bleaching gel or whether you have the laser whitening treatment. Surgery? I would say no. No surgery is involved. Lasik surgery, is not cosmetic. Although, it has cosmetic appeal, for not having to wear glasses afterward. Meanwhile, for insurance purposes, the insurance company will probably not recognize Lasik as necessary surgery, because glasses are available, cheaper. :)

if you have any type of restorations on your teeth, just like veneers or composite bonding or anything, nothing will whitening those because those are not a natural tooth structure, so you would have to get those veneers replaced to another color or just have them taken off so you can whiten all the teeth the same way and then get the veneers matched to the new color. but all that would be really expensive so its up to you

How do I keep my teeth white after using Crest Whitening Strips?
I had yellow teeth and used Crest Whitening Strips to make them whiter. The only problem is that they start changing back to their yellow color. Does anyone have any tips or anything to keep them staying white after using the strips?

stay away from coffee and cigarettes. brush your teeth a lot, floss, and use mouth wash. i used them before and i did it again a couple months later and nothing bad happened so you can always do them again.

What are methods of whitening teeth without damaging the enamel apart from getting them professionally bleached? My dentist told me my teeth aren't stained but i think they could be whiter. Whitening toothpaste only works for stained teeth i think. Does brushing teeth with salt work? What are other methods?

Too cute :) Do you really have any baby teeth left? If you are 14, you probably have all your adult teeth. Teeth don't really grow any more after they come in. It should be fine to use white strips.

I'm sure they are safe, they just might not be as effective. Overtime the active ingredients begin to deteriorate and the manufacturer places an expiration date on it to ensure a product that isn't working as well as it could be aren't on the shelves cause it's not good for business.

Teeth whitening- how do you get pure white teeth?
ive had lazer whitening with Britesmile and Zoom but it only lightens the shade and lasts at best a couple of weeks. What systems do celebrities like Simon Cowell use to get that really bright snow white teeth. Any recommendations?

Dont know about the celebs - some look like veneers covering the teeth rather than withening systems- but at the dental clinic where I work, slow release bleaching is recommended over laser. The results are generally longer lasting. It may be a pain in the *** for some people as you have to wear custom made trays over your teeth at night for 2-3 weeks, but I think it is worth it. I've done it myself and reached the top shade A1 in two weeks. It's lasted over 6 months so far. As I do drink coffee and red wine (both very staining) I use the pro-whitening brush head on my electric tooth brush once a week and I think that is helping to maintain the white appearance. I have a couple of syrnges of bleach left for doing top-ups in another few months if needs be.

teeth whitening and spray tanning during pregnancy?
So my pregnancy has come a little unexpectedly (scheduled to get married in September, my due date is September 21st) so we have moved the wedding date up to May instead. Is it safe during pregnancy to use the store bought "crest whitening strips"? (or any other brand for that matter) and is it safe to do the spray tans that most salons offer? I will be roughly 5 months pregnant on our wedding day!
