Teeth brush-on whitening?
I have been trying to find a way to remove cigarette / coffee / wine stains from my teeth. The strips won't work well, since I have crocked teeth :) and most of the stains are on the inner side. I once read about some brush-on whitener but I am not sure what it was. It was that you just brush it on like toothpaste but don't rinse and keep it overnight. Anyone knows what I am talking about? Let me know please. Thank you all
--------------------
I have never heard of brush- on whitening but I do know of toothpastes that will help you remove stains. Arm and Hammer whitening toothpaste works AMAZING! I personally used this and my teeth went three shades lighter after one week. When I ran out of toothpaste though, the whiteness faded away :/

What is a way to whiten teeth?
I have read about baking soda, but i can't buy any. I have strawberries and the peroxide stuff though. and i don't want to get white strips either. Please help!
--------------------
Well I read in a magazine, if you walk around with your mouth open, it causes it to dry up all that saliva in your mouth and turn two shades brighter. The magazine said "50 things a dentist won't tell you". I read it at my dentist office. But you can also whiten your teeth.

Plus White 5 Minute Speed Whitening Gel - How to apply PROPERLY?
Hey guys! I surfed the web and found that this product mentioned in the title is a very good gel for whitening the teeth... I bought and tried it but i think im not doing it properly. ^^ How much do you apply on the mouth guard and how long do you guys recommend? -Thanks
--------------------
Very little on the mouthguard, because even if you put a lot it will get squeezed out resulting in : 1. You will run out too soon 2. The squeezed out material will get amudged all over the gum area and burn the area.

Whitening my teeth with gel, and it isn't even...?
I just got my braces off today, and I went home right away and started day 1 of 5 of my whitening kit. It's the kind that has gel in tubes that I sqeeze into a mouth tray and leave it on for 5 minutes. I know today was only the first day, but thers a few spots here and there that went super white, but the majority of it is still kind of yellow (they're not grotesquely yellow, but I got my braces on right after getting pregnant and hit with severe morning sickness and then had a young child... lets just say I couldn't brush as often as I would have liked to!). My main concern is, will the colour difference with the spots get worse if I keep using it, or will they eventually all become the same nice white once I've finished the whole weeks worth? I'm a little paranoid, I don't want to ruin my brand new smile!
--------------------
i have something similar to you (i got custom bleaching trays with the bleach from my dentist) and will say that the first day i had a few spots that were darker than the rest of my teeth...i kept bleaching and they went away. my bleaching kit is different though, bc i had to wear them overnight for 2 weeks and then after that, whenever i needed touch-ups. i think you will be fine to continue using it, but i would suggest that you call your dentist and ask him/her - better to be safe than sorry! :) sorry i couldn't help much! good luck! =) edit: i just wanted to say that the home remedies that were provided below should only be done 1x a wk...some of those things, if used frequently, can cause damage to the enamel.

How fast will Hydrogen Peroxide whiten your teeth?
I have a dance recital this thursday and we have to wear BRIGHT RED lipstick and it makes my yellow teeth really noticeable! So I'm gonna start burshing 2 times a day (i normally get once a day every 2 days.. gross, i know :/ ) and gargle with hydrogen peroxide. How much whiter will this make my teeth in 4 days?
--------------------
do not use hydrogen peroxide, you can use hydrogen peroxide when it is in another thing like whitestrips, but it is NOTTTT good for your gums and tissues or teeth in your mouth at all!. it starts to break down the tissues in your mouth and the tissue will slough off in your mouth, and you dont want that!

How do I whiten my teeth naturally?
I want to know how I can naturally whiten my teeth?
--------------------
Your best bet is to get a tooth whitening kit from your dentist. The problem with "natural" / "home remedies" is that they can damage your teeth and erode the enamel on them. Stuff like baking soda, lemon, etc is really not a good idea. To avoid having your teeth get stained further, you should avoid stuff like caffeine and smoking - both of these make your teeth yellow.

After using crest whitening strips i brush my teeth....?
Please answer!! I brush my teeth AFTER I use crest whitening strips should i not do this? Thanks <3 :)
--------------------
Personally, I think it's a better idea to put the strips on after you brush your teeth. This way, you don't brush off the whitening chemicals. Good luck!

How do you use Baking Soda to make your teeth white?
I have school in 3 hours, so Im wondering how long Baking Soda takes to work to whiten teeth.. And what do you do with the Baking Soda to get it to work?
--------------------
Just dip a damp toothbrush into it and brush. Watch out - it will be very salty! It could take a few weeks of daily brushing to whiten your teeth, depending upon how dingy they are.

Is there a teeth whitener that whitens teeth stained by tetracycline medication?
If so, how many shades whiter? The tetracycline was given to treat shingles as an infant.
--------------------
over the counter whitening or even custom trays wont work. You can try Zoom (In office laser whitening), but this is your best bet unless you do veneers or crowns. Your dentist should be able to give you options (and his/her opinion on Zoom.) *bit of advice: if you go for Zoom - call around. It varies in price from $300- $525.00 and higher where I live. Good Luck!

any Tips on whitening my teeth? denitst at 2o'clock!?
i have the dentist at 2 and my teeth aren't as white as they could be?! any ideas on how to get them any better looking? for free?
--------------------
Step 1 Brush and floss regularly to reduce or prevent stains. Step 2 Try whitening toothpastes. Though heavily advertised, these only partially whiten teeth and don't provide a complete remedy. Make sure the toothpaste has the American Dental Association (ADA) seal of approval and has been clinically proved to whiten teeth effectively. Very few whitening toothpastes have undergone any type of clinical trial, and ones that are too abrasive can damage teeth or make them very sensitive. Step 3 Get regular dental cleanings, which remove many food and tobacco stains. No amount of cleaning will remove the severe staining left by tetracycline or systemic disease because these pigments lie inside the tooth; you'll have to take more aggressive measures against these. Step 4 Consider the two options, in-office and at-home treatments, for bleaching your teeth. A dentist performs in-office treatments by coating the teeth with a bleaching agent, then using periodic flashes of light to activate the solution. Treatments last 30 to 60 minutes, and the complete procedure often requires several appointments. In at-home treatments, patients wear a mouth guard fitted with bleaching gel 2 hours a day for two weeks, depending on the severity of staining. Step 5 Think about getting veneers, which are custom-made shells bonded to the teeth with resins. This procedure often requires removing a small amount of tooth structure and is the most invasive, as well as the most expensive, treatment option. You can also use BAKING SODA No bleaching method can permanently whiten teeth, and all require repeated treatments, especially if the factor that caused staining still exists. All of the bleaching mechanisms described here can cause tooth sensitivity, usually temporary (lasting up to several weeks). Never try to remove or scrape off stains with your fingernails or other sharp objects. The ADA and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration discourage use of over-the-counter bleaching kits, which can damage your gums.

how can i get my teeth whitened? any specific toothpaste brand? or is having laser whitening better?

An EXCELLENT toothpaste whitener is Crest Vivid White. After a week or two you will see results! Or you can use Crest White Strips, as long as you can put aside 15 mins a day to put a strip on, and be prepared to drool, lol!

i want to whiten my teeth naturally. i dont want to use something that will take the anamal off and cost the big bucks. any natural ways of doing this?
--------------------
No only do whiting stuff take off the Enamel but it also messes up your gums. The best way will to just brush your teeth at least 2 times a day and floss. Flossing isn't very fun but it does what your tooth brush can't. Baking soda helps with whitening

what's the best thing I can get at the store to whiten my teeth?
--------------------
If you really want the best, go see your dentist. I would recommend Discus Dental products, because they are the industry leader and have the safest and most advanced products. Everything in the store is just an over the counter knockoff of them anyway. You'll pay more at your dentist, but you'll be getting the best, and your teeth deserve it. DON'T HAVE YOUR MOUTH OPEN ON A TANNING BED! That is the worst advice, because the inside of your mouth should never come in contact with UV rays as it isn't exposed to the sun during normal everyday living. In office chairside bleaching uses a rubber dam and extra thick gauze so the light only hits your teeth and the bleach. Plus, don't confuse in office bleaching (extremely expensive) with take home bleach (less expensive and extremely safe). I have seen people who went to the dentist and the gauze/dam weren't put on correctly and they were burned with purple gums :( DON'T RINSE WITH HYDROGEN PEROXIDE - Over time you will experience gum sensitivity and tooth sensitivity, hydrogen should ONLY touch the teeth that is why you get custom trays from the dentist. If you expose your teeth to hydrogen peroxide you are asking for tooth pain/gum pain.

Teeth not whitening evenly?
I just started using Aquafresh pro-gentle whitening trays 5 days ago and they have whitened my teeth so far but there aren't coming out evenly. I have a small section on most of my top front teeth that is whiter than the rest of my teeth. I'm up for my next dentist appointment and was wondering that if a good cleaning would help me out. Before I started whitening my teeth were all 1 shade. So i guess my question is, why are my teeth not coming out all the same color? and Is there anything I can do to help they come out equally?
--------------------
i would try another method of whitening or ask your dentist the reason for the trouble =D

What is a natrual way to whiten teeth?
I am addicted to white strips, but recently found out it is not healthy. So, aside from brushing three times a day, flossing i.e... What natrual remedies or recepies could i use to naturally whiten my teeth or to maintain the color? When i was small my mom would make us brush with baking soda...?.... I'm kind of skeptic... I don't remember if i got results or not. Looks didn't really bother me then.

First, consider your diet. Soda pop, sugary, colored drinks, coffee, tea, wine, tomato sauce, beet soup are items that will discolor the teeth. Therefore, there is no point in using harsh home type remedies or pharmacy remedies, as long as these are imbibed. The best way, and least abrasive is to have the teeth professionally evaluated and bleached. Too much brushing with paste up at the gum area will erode the teeth. You will want to discuss proper brushing techniques with the dentist. Bottom line, leave this type of work to the professionals. Baking soda is too abrasive and will remove the teeth enamel. This should be discussed with a dentist. At the very least, call his/her office and ask directly.
