What is the best teeth whitening system for me?

I am nineteen and getting my braces off soon. As well as this, I got two teeth knocked out from a baseball when I was 10 so I am in the middle of the Implant process. I wan't to whiten my teeth after I get my braces off and then get the implants to match. I have never smoked, drank coffee, and I rarely drink soda. My teeth are just mainly yellow because I was one of the kids that hated to brush their teeth. I only brush them once a day if that. My question is, what would be the best teeth whitening system to make my teeth whiter even though I dont smoke or drink coffee. I also want something that wont discolor frequently because then my smile would look weird and the implants would be a totally different color. By the way the teeth I knocked out are one top middle tooth and one to the left of that so they are right in the front of my mouth. Thanks.
--------------------
I would just brush with a whitening pre brush rinse and a paste. If you must use something like Crest whitening strips. They are cheap and inexpensive, but you can't use it too often because they cause sensitivity. So if you do make sure to use a sensitivity toothpaste. Crest Pro health works good, and it comes in a whitening form as well. Listerine pre brush rinse is good too.

Does laser teeth whitening really work that dramatically?

I've actually had it done once before forking over $500 but I did it a few months after I was whitening my teeth with Nite White ("professional stuff") which worked amazingly but was oh so sensitizing to my teeth, lol. Anywho, I noticed hardly any results after I got them laser whitened but remarkably when they sent me the before and after pics back my teeth were veneer white! ha Enchanced...mmmm yea (Photoshop pro here) My concern now is since Nite White worked wonders yet I don't want to deal with the major sensitivity issue day by day while using it, do you think I should try a different dentist or laser whitening?
--------------------
At-home whitening supervised by a dentist will give you less sensitivity but take a little bit longer. The dentist will make trays for you to fit your teeth, and then you put the bleaching solution in them. The good thing about them is that you can adjust the amount of time you wear the trays for if you have sensitivity. Usually they are worn overnight, but if that causes a problem for you you can wear them 2-6 hours a day and the sensitivity should lessen. Yes, it will take longer to whiten, a couple weeks at least, but your teeth will not hurt so much.

Does teeth whitening give mouth cancer?

Like the ones with bleach?
--------------------
They use a bleaching agent not bleach itself, which is only applied for a brief period onto the teeth. It's not like you are bleaching every day, or constantly exposing yourself to toxic chemicals. Some people suffer from soreness after the whitening when a very strong concentration of bleaching agent is used. Alcohol has been implicated in lots of surveys with mouth cancer, and obviously smoking cigarettes and cigars. Many mouthwashes use lots of alcohol. I have not seen any surveys linking tooth bleaching with cancer.

What are some fast and easy ways to whiten teeth evenly?

I heard somewhere that using baking soda is a cheap and effective method of whitening your teeth, but how does that really work?
--------------------
Baking soda gives your teeth a whiter appearance by removing tough stains. Baking soda works to actively remove dulling plaque and deep stains that are embedded deep in tooth surface crevices by dissolving into these areas. Once dissolved in water, baking soda changes its chemical make up slightly and it gives off free radicals which penetrate the surface of the tooth's enamel and combine with stain molecules breaking carbon double bonds; changing stain molecules from a darker coloured substance to a clear one allowing baking soda to help lighten and "whiten" teeth. If your teeth have more yellow and brown stains these are easier to change than gray stains. So the answer I have come up with is YES. Technically baking soda does help to "whiten" teeth.

At home teeth whitening?

I tried the 7 day crest white strips (premium) and it worked wonders. I am still happy with the results 5 months later, but I need something else for more whitening. Is crest the best or is something out there any better?
--------------------
Crest white strips is the besttt! I love them, they do work wonders! I tried other brands but I feel Crest works the best. Unless you go to the dentist and he gives you an at home teeth whitening kit.

Whitening Teeth Techniques?

I don't have enough money to go to the dentist and pay all that money to get my teeth whitened. Does anyone know of any other products that you can buy to whiten your teeth? Thanks guys!
--------------------
You should consult your dentist before whitening to make sure that you don't have any cavities or any other limitations that would compromise your tooth whitening results. To determine the initial color of your teeth, compare them to a sheet of bright white computer paper held up to your mouth. The degree of whiteness that can be achieved depends on what color the teeth are to begin with and the source of the discoloration. Brown or yellow teeth (often the result of superficial staining caused by smoking, coffee, and tea) will usually get whiter. Gray teeth (caused not by stains but by pigment deep inside the tooth) will lighten less, sometimes not at all. Avoid things that stain teeth like coffee, red wine and cigarettes. Follow the "white teeth diet" Drink white wine instead of red wine, cappuccino instead of espresso, and grapefruit juice instead of cranberry juice. Tooth bleaching gels containing carbamide peroxide (10 - 22% solution) and glycol or glycerine and can be purchased over the internet. Hydrogen peroxide is also used. The higher strength solution and longer bleaching time produces faster results but may cause increased sensitivity. Commonly, your teeth or gums will become sensitive while using products containing peroxide based gels but it is not harmful. You can minimize sensitivity by using a toothpaste with fluoride and 5% potassium nitrate (Crest Sensitive, Sensodyne.) Also you can reduce usage time and/or frequency until the sensitivity subsides. Tray-less Whitening systems include Crest Whitening Strips or a paint-on gel like Colgate Simply White There are 2 kinds of at-home-tray whitening systems which you use with a bleaching agent: ----> A custom-fitted bleaching trays is fabricated by a dental lab, from a kit which you order on the internet and mail to a dental lab. -----> A "boil-and-bite" tray made by you The at-home bleaching tray methods require a fitted mouth tray (bleaching tray) to hold the bleaching gel against the tooth either overnight or hourly depending on the strength of the bleach dispensed. Formerly, only a dentist could fabricate the bleaching tray. Nowadays, custom-fitted trays can also be ordered via the internet. You take the mold of your teeth and mail the molds to a dental lab who fabricates the trays and mails them back to you. in a couple of weeks. Alternatively, the boil-and-bite trays are thermoform trays placed in boiling water for a few minutes to soften and then mold against your teeth yourself. They may be bulkier and not fit as well. Tooth bleaching/whitening gel does NOT bleach (or harm) bonding, caps, crowns, bridges, fillings or any other artificial dental work. You may have to have the dentistry redone in order to match your new white teeth. Prior to Treatment Brush and floss just prior to bleaching your teeth. Whitening gel is the most effective with clean teeth Check for a comfortable fit of the trays first without any beach. Make sure that the bleaching trays are clean and dry before applying the whitening gel. Moisture reduces the efficiency of the whitening gel and slows down the whitening process. Keep bleaching gel out of reach of children. Do NOT use if pregnant or during nursing. Do NOT smoke, drink or eat while bleaching your teeth. See your dentist regularly to check for dental problems.

Best teeth whitening systems?

I'm getting my braces off in December and want to whiten them as soon as they are off. I want something that works very quickly, as my birthday is two days after I get my braces off. I've been researching at home bleaching trays and other at-home systems. Which ones will give me the best, fastest results?
--------------------
I recommend using either 'Crest Whitestrips Premium' or Crest Whitestrips Pro Effects'. You could also use some whitening mouth wash. Don't use whitening toothpaste though. That'll only make your teeth more sensitive and cause more problems in the long run. (Or so my dentist told me.) I've heard that bleaching trays are really bad for your teeth.

Is Teeth Whitening worth it?

I'm thinking about getting my teeth whitened, in office. And I was wondering if it is worth it? Does it hurt? Will it damage your teeth or gums in any way, shape or form? Thanks!
--------------------
I'm not sure if it will hurt or damage your gums or teeth but getting your teeth whiten you have to make sacrifices like not drinking drinks that would ruin it like tea, coffee. etc. I know someone who got there teeth whiten and it didnt stay on, i'm not really sure why. they said it did hurt her tho and she struggled to limit to some things only. Hope i was helpful!

--------------------
consulting a dentist is the best way to be able to choose the best, safe and effective teeth whitening system. he may recommend you a good teeth whitener that contains good quality ingredients that will not harm teeth and gums. some teeth whitening kits contain harmful ingredients that can cause gum problems. stained teeth are caused by the foods and drinks that you consume that can possibly discolor teeth like red wine, tea, coffee, colas and chocolates and more. it is best that you refrain from consuming them. if not, then you can use a straw when drinking. proper brushing and flossing will help remove stains after eating. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to whiten teeth.

Teeth Whitening?

Can tooth whitening be convered by dental insurance? I want tot get mine whitened but the in office one costs hundreds of dollars that isn't covered by insurance? If not, does anyone know of a good in home tooth whitener that works really well and works quickly?
--------------------
Whitening most likely will NOT be covered by insurance because it's considered a cosmetic procedure. Insurance will only cover what needs to be done for health reasons...not to make you look good. I have used Whitestrips, and an occassional whitening toothpaste. You can also try "White Light" which uses a gel and a little blue light. I can notice a difference after just a few uses. If you want to just buy the gel, you can always use the sports mouthguards to keep the gel on your teeth without getting it all over. (Boil the mouthguard in water until it can move a little...then stick it in your mouth while it can still move but it's not too hot. If you bite down, it should form to the shape of your mouth and teeth.) Anyway, hope this helps...and good luck!

Teeth Whitening?

My best friend in the world whitened his teeth last week. He used bleach, baking soda and ammonia. They looked really white at first, but he's been in the county ER twice. What do y'all recommend for a home-aid teeth solution? Thanks.
--------------------
none! you need to get a solution that is meant for teeth. try crest white strips. also to prevent staining, do not smoke, drink red wine, dark sodas, tea or coffee. if you do make sure you brush with a whitening toothpaste immediatly afterwards.

Teeth Whitening !?

Ive had my braces off for about a year now and I want to whiten my teeth a wee bit ! There not gross and yellow there just not perfectly white! I dont want them hollywood white just a wee bit whiter than they are now ! Are there any home remedys for teeth whitening ? Ive heard you can use bircarbonate of soda ! How often do you and how do you use that to make your teeth whiter ? Does it really work ? How long does it take to work ? Ive also heard that crest whiterstrips are good ! Do they work well ? How long do they take to work ? How much do they cost roughly in british pounds ? Do you have to order them online ? Thanks !!

since you want your teeth a shade lighter, use a over the counter teeth whitener, like crest, etc. Using soda bicarbonate too can get some results, try hydrogen peroxide as well.

Teeth Whitening!!!?

Hey everyone, I was wondering what kind of over-the-counter-products would work well on teeth. I want my teeth to be white!! But I dont know what products I need to do that. So I was wondering if you guys could name a few.(Toothpaste,Strips,etc.) I heard alot a good things about crest whitening strips. I wants something that is safe too. Also thanks alot who answered :-)
--------------------
I use crest white strips and they work extremely well. They are priced fairly well too. I only use the regular ones. They have crest white strips premium, which are supposed to whiten teeth in five days. So if the originals work well, I'm sure the premiums would work even better. Also, my mom uses ultrabrite toothpaste. She says it helps, but is not as affective as whitening strips. However, it is only a dollar, so it might be worth trying it out.

teeth whitening?

hi all, i would like to know a home treatment for whitening my teeth, i brush them every morning and night but that doesnt seem to be enough
--------------------
I have had some patients use the Crest White Strips and they have had good results. I have used plenty of whitening toothpaste's and none of them are very effective. I made myself some whitening trays at my dental office and I use the solution that we order and I got great results. Try the Crest White Strips but if you done get really good results then you can always go to your dentist and have them make you the whitening trays. They are a little expensive and insurance does not cover them but you will be very satisfied with the results. Before you whiten your teeth you should use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth because the solution will make your teeth sensitive to cold. It will go away once you are done.

You can brush your teeth with some baking powder. It may not taste very nice, but it works. But don't do it everyday - The baking powder is acidic and it eats away at your teeth over time. But every now and then should be just fine :)
