do teeth whitening gels really work?

I use crest white strips and I think if you follow the directions on them and use them properly they work well, and ive also used 3 different kinds of gel whitening kits with a blue light it comes with to whiten it. I think they work pretty well too, but it is important to keep up with it and use things like whitening mouthwash. I think the gel stuff you chose will probably work cause all of the whitening things ive used have worked pretty well. Good Luck!

What is the best teeth whitening system for me?
I am nineteen and getting my braces off soon. As well as this, I got two teeth knocked out from a baseball when I was 10 so I am in the middle of the Implant process. I wan't to whiten my teeth after I get my braces off and then get the implants to match. I have never smoked, drank coffee, and I rarely drink soda. My teeth are just mainly yellow because I was one of the kids that hated to brush their teeth. I only brush them once a day if that. My question is, what would be the best teeth whitening system to make my teeth whiter even though I dont smoke or drink coffee. I also want something that wont discolor frequently because then my smile would look weird and the implants would be a totally different color. By the way the teeth I knocked out are one top middle tooth and one to the left of that so they are right in the front of my mouth. Thanks.

Does laser teeth whitening really work that dramatically?
I've actually had it done once before forking over $500 but I did it a few months after I was whitening my teeth with Nite White ("professional stuff") which worked amazingly but was oh so sensitizing to my teeth, lol. Anywho, I noticed hardly any results after I got them laser whitened but remarkably when they sent me the before and after pics back my teeth were veneer white! ha Enchanced...mmmm yea (Photoshop pro here) My concern now is since Nite White worked wonders yet I don't want to deal with the major sensitivity issue day by day while using it, do you think I should try a different dentist or laser whitening?

Professional Teeth Whitening?!?!?
Every since I was like 5 I have like a little yellow stain on the tip of my two front teeth. They got that way because of a medication I was on, when I was sick. Now I am 16 (17 in 1 month), I had braces a couple of years ago but I still have those two little yellow stains on the tip of my two front teeth. I have tried the crest strips, and all those other O.T.C teeth whitening products, and none have worked. Therefore I want to get them professionally done. I have heard of procedures like Zoom Whitening, but is there anyway, I can just get those two teeth whitened, cheaper than Zoom. What other procedures can be done other than Zoom?

aight so i wanna whiten my teeth but i have a few questions for those who have done this already! durring my braces the ******* messed up my teeth hard core! I have a cavity on one of i think its my i tooth? im not sure but its one of the frontal Teeth for sure. And i was wondering A, would this effect the cavity? I had white spots on my front teeth (flourisis) that I got grinded out and filled in to match the rest of my teeth. I like to use Crest White Strips occassionally. My question is will the places that the dentist filled in whiten the same way the rest of my teeth will?

Zoom whitening teeth system?
I used zoom whitening 3 weeks ago, the procedure was painful and my teeth were white for about 2 weeks now it seems like my £200 went down the drain, anyway i want to know whether I can use crest white strips but at the same time not jeopardize my chances of taking a whitening procedure such as zoom in the future.

If I use Crest White Strips, will the teeth whitening be PERMANENT once I'm finished with all of them?
I want PERMANENT white teeth. Will my teeth stay white if I keep up with them normally, or do the white strips leave some kind of white layer that washes off after a while?? and what's better than Crest White Strips and is the same price and easily attainable.(Wal-Mart, Target, etc...)

Can you whiten your teeth for one day?
I have normal teeth, straight and all; but now I am participating in this thingy, and everyone will have whitened teeth or veneers. I'd like to win. But my doctor told me not to whiten my teeth, as my dentin is very thin. Mine are white, but natural white, and I can't compete with others. I want to use one of the teeth whitener applications that you can pick up from a department store, but I have small white spots on my teeth that I'm afraid will be made bigger from the use of a whitening product. I just got my braces removed and I have the 'teeth scars' would over the counter whitening products work?
I was sick for 3 months and couldn't care for my teeth properly and with that I am left with the scars or whatever on my teeth. I hate that because of something out of my control I'll have to live with the way my teeth now look. Would the OTC whiteners work or should I just see my dentist for a solution?

Its pretty expensive. We used to use it in our office and we charged $550 or so. I've heard it even higher than that though. We now do something called deep bleaching. The problem with previous in office bleaching techniques is the lack of predictability. Some teeth would bleach well, while others only a little or none at all. The principle behind deep bleaching is that you condition the enamel to accept the bleach. We start with a strong in office bleach, 2 twenty minute treatments using a previously made set of whitening trays. We also use a special solution to help prevent sensitivity. The patient goes home with a less potent bleach and wears the trays for 2 weeks at night. The final session is the one that allows the "pop" in the whitening effect. 3 twenty minute treatments with the stronger in office bleach. It really works! I had a patient that we used both Zoom in office and then sent her home with trays and neither treatment touched her color. She had very resistant enamel and this new deep bleaching system lightened her several shades. I know this probably means nothing to you, but you might tell your dentist about it.
