I used zoom whitening 3 weeks ago, the procedure was painful and my teeth were white for about 2 weeks now it seems like my £200 went down the drain, anyway i want to know whether I can use crest white strips but at the same time not jeopardize my chances of taking a whitening procedure such as zoom in the future.

The effects of laser whitening systems are very dramatic, but don't last as long as the effects of traditional peroxide whitening treatments. Whichever whitening method you use will cause tooth sensitivity. This is usually temporary. Using a sensitive-tooth toothpaste (like Sensodyne) will help. Wait until the sensitivity is gone, before using any other whitening method. You need to allow the enamel to regain its density. Whichever method you use, you still need to maintain the whiteness with an appropriate toothpaste. I like ones with baking soda in them. The baking soda is a very mild abrasive, and it gently buffs away any staining. You should also avoid major stainers like tea, coffee, berries, and of course, smoking. In fact, tobacco is just about the worst dental staining agent there is! After your teeth have lost their sensitivity, you should be able to safely use an over-the-counter whitening kit, provided you follow the directions carefully, and don't use it if your gums are inflamed or sensitive. Remember that too-frequent whitening of the teeth can permanently erode the enamel, and that will give you REAL problems! You should also be aware that those perfect, dazzling smiles you see on actors & models are usually the result of capped teeth or dental veneers. They just don't happen in nature, or with any amount of whitening.
