Ways to naturally whiten your teeth?
I need some good ways to whiten my teeth. I've been using baking soda for about two months and it hasn't helped at all... So if you know any ways besides getting them whiten at a dentist or by whitening strips please tell me. Thanks!

Baking Soda Using baking soda between once and twice a month in order to whiten teeth is often recommended by dentists. All that you need to do is mix baking soda with water in a small Dixie cup, dip the tip of your toothbrush in the solution and lightly brush your teeth. Keep in mind, however, that you should not do this more than recommended. Also make sure that you do not swallow any of the baking soda when you brush your teeth. Lemon Juice Rinsing your mouth with a 75% lemon juice and 25% salt solution is known to work wonders for whitening teeth. Unfortunately, there are a variety of different reasons why it might not be suitable for you. If you are on a low sodium or low acid diet, chances are that you will not want to try this out, in case you should accidentally swallow some of the solution. Remember that you should not swallow the lemon juice solution. Another reason why it might not be suitable for you is if you have sensitive teeth, as many people tend to claim that it hurts their mouths. If neither of these things are a problem for you and you can handle the awful taste that you may be dealing with, then you should definitely try rinsing with a lemon juice solution. Rinse with Listerine and/or Peroxide One of the best ways to whiten teeth is by using Listerine or peroxide. Both of these products are known to have a whitening effect on teeth. A certain amount of Peroxide can even be found in tooth whitening at-home products, which shows just how effective it can end up being for you. Can't bear the test of Peroxide? That's okay. You can mix a 50% Listerine and a 50% Peroxide solution, which should help you better accept the taste. The best thing about using Listerine and Peroxide is the fact that both of these products will help you keep germs out of your mouth, which ultimately means that your chances of catching a cold will be a lot slimmer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~… Avoid drinking red wine and coffee because these can stain your teeth quickly. Smoking on the other hand, can turn the color of your teeth to yellow. Drink milk and lots of water instead Eating fruits and vegetables is also beneficial for the teeth. Raw vegetables are not only healthy but can also clean your teeth; so have them for your snack. Strawberries are loaded with Vitamin C which has bleaching elements. You can also use lemon peel to whiten your teeth; just massaged it over the surface of your teeth and rinse thoroughly.

teeth bleaching/whitening long island?
im really interested in the idea of getting my teeth done to be whiter. im in long island, NY & its hard to google places, because it doesnt really do anything. how can i find out what places in long island, nassau county to be specific do bleaching? i would use my dentist but i am kind of skeptical usuing him b/c he changed the price on me twice when i asked the first time he told me 200, & the second time 300. i want someone who knows what theyre doing, & has a reasonable price. thanks if you can help me out.

You can ask the 1-800-dentist operator questions over the phone and kinda pre-screen your choices. Another way that I've always found as a good method to finding a dentist, ask friends and coworkers for references. If you know someone with great teeth, don't be shy to ask them who their dentist is. They might even take that as a compliment for their pearly whites! :)

Who has completed in office tooth whitening (like zoom). Could you please share what you experienced?

I was pretty happy with my results-but it's not very long lasting. But, I will say that I was in a great deal of pain (couldn't talk or breathe out of my mouth) for about 48 hours on the verge of tears. Then the next day I was fine. I would definately not do it again-I even had it done for free at my work. Next time I'm going to use a bleaching tray system which can be bought pretty much anywhere like Target, Meijers, etc.

Does a regular dental check up whiten teeth a bit?
I am going to my first check up in a couple years and my teeth are a little yellower than I want them to be. I have a dentist appointment coming up soon. Will the regular cleaning and polishing make my teeth noticeably whiter?

If it's been a couple years then yes, you will see a difference if you get a regular cleaning with a good polishing. Two years is a very long time between cleanings. You might not see your teeth get dramatic results like two shades of whiteness, but 1/2 to 1 shade is not uncommon with my patients. Especially if the patient smokes or drinks lots of coffee. Even with patients who come in every 6 months, after they get a cleaning sometimes they look in the mirror and they are so happy. They remark at how much brighter their teeth look. Do not be surprised if the same happens to you. You will be surprised at how much gunk you build up. Btw - the stain that builds up inside the teeth, called intrinsic stain, can be addressed by using whitening kit with hydrogen peroxide as active ingredient. Hydrogen peroxide has the ability to penetrate deep into the tooth enamel getting at surfaces below the outer enamel. Unfortunately it's this ability to penetrate the enamel that makes teeth sensitive to the hydrogen peroxide in some people so use with caution.

Try crest whitestrips, my mom uses them and they really work, i can't use them right now, though, because i have braces, but once i get them off, i will use them. There is also this whole Crest package that you can buy at target or wal mart that comes with the whitestrips, whitening toothpaste, and whitening mouthwash. I think that would be a great buy! Hope it helps!

Sure it's safe to do. Why wouldn't it be OK? But, why whiten them to look beautiful and then cover them up with the braces? Most people would do it in the reverse order so that people can admire their straight teeth and the whiteness at the same time.

I used Crest White Strips this year. My teeth were always a hazy shade of yellowish-white beforehand and I wanted to try to whiten them up. Right now there are about 100 different white strip varieties. Some, like the original, you have to apply a messy strip and leave on for 30 min, others are only 3 minutes and have a nice mouthguard shape. However, the original white strips are $10 or more cheaper than the newer ones and that's saying something seeing how the original ones still cost between $20 and $30. After using the original strips twice a day for 2 weeks I noticed a dramatic difference in my teeth color. I highly recommend them if you can commit to wearing them every day.

Sure! Especially if you brush after coffee, cola or anything that can stain your teeth (blueberries). Try using a sensitive toothpaste like Sensodyne if you brush your teeth a lot though. Chewing gum without sugar is helpful after coffee too... Ask your dentist on a next appointment.

i live in perth and i have a teeth whitening kit from my dentist that costed $300.00 ..You can get them whitened once and have instant results but it's costs about $500.00 otherwise what i had was they take a mold of your mouth and make you plastic guards that fit your teeth and you pour whitening solution in them and wear them for a couple hours and after a few days your teeth are so white!! :) it's great because you can get refills and it's totally affordable after the initial cost!

Questions about teeth whitening?
Okay my teeth aren't the whitest. I'm kinda shy and my dentist is my aunt so i don't feel comfortable asking her about it. I was wondering if anyone knows what i could use to make my teeth whiter but not cost a lot of money. I tried the whitening toothpaste but it doesn't get as white as i hoped. Thanks :)

Will my teeth get whiter faster if I use whitening strips three times a day instead of twice?
i have listerine whitening strips and it says to use them twice per day, and they will be white in two weeks. if i use three or four per day will they be whiter in just one week?

Teeth Whitening while Tanning?
Has anyone ever bought that teeth whitening product to use specifically while you are tanning. It's a brush on whitener, and you put the thing in your mouth to keep your lips open and the lights are supposed to whiten your teeth. Does it work???

I don't think so none of that in store stuff to make your teeth really white doesn't work 100% anyways. If you want white teeth go see your dentist and have him bleach your teeth and he will actually give you stuff that works! whats the best whitening strips for your teeth?
im getting my braces off in 5 days and i want my teeth to be suuuuper white by the time i go back to school in August. any advice on which brand i should buy? btw i heard crest white strips is good, is that true?

I agree with everyone else... Crest 3D is awesome but i would suggest you also use a whitening toothpaste alongside it That way you can be sure you your teeth will stay in a pearl white condition and keep your gums healthy too!
