to do teeth whitening will have any affect in the future?
In usa. I see a lot of people went to do whitening teeth and it really good and look a lot better..it any affect after that? What about the toothpaste, is that true that it will thin your teeth?
--------------------
There are newer whiteners with peroxide that dont harm the enamel of your teeth. ALL o-t-c whiteners are temporary. If you want it to last you have to get the whitening treatment from the dentist's office that runs about $2,000. I have tried them all, and the best over the counter one is the new rembrant system. It is a two hour whitening kit, and toothpaste, and mouthwash. The tooth paste leaves a nasty aftertaste, and it takes a while to get used to the amount of peroxide, but it literally was really noticeable by the third day, and the mouthwash really does smooth out any roughness in the enamel of your teeth.

Does the Danoz direct teeth whitening product actually work?
Hi, I was naturally born with a yellow shade teeth colour, and was wondering if the danoz direct teeth whitening "laser" thing actually work? I'm a bit skeptical so I thought I would ask, thanks :)
--------------------
yes these products do work, I have in the past sent $1000 to have my teeth whitened at the dentist I have since found that these gels and blue lights work just as well however the danoz product is quite expense at $50 I have found that the cheaper version on ebay or deals direct work just as well with a far cheaper price tag you can also buy different strenghts of whitening gel from ebay

What OTC tooth whitening products are effective without damaging teeth?
If you've tried them, please write if they worked for you or didn't work. Also, how long do the whitening effects last? Do they make your teeth sensitive - for how long? How often do you need to use them to keep up the look and at the same time not to damage teeth? How much do they sell for?

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken.I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/ep7yg

Best over the counter teeth whitening kit?
I'm getting married in 9 months and basically I'm looking for the best over the counter teeth whitening kit. I've tried Aquafresh and really didn't like it. Price is kind of a big deal, nothing extremely expensive. Also if there is one that replaces enamel as it whitens would be a good one. thanks for any help.

Most people are happy with Crest Whitening strips. These are sold almost everywhere and will work well. If you are unhappy with the results you may need to step up a little bit and try tray based teeth whitening or visit your dentist. More advanced teeth whitening products are usually not sold in supermarkets. You may need to find some on the web. http://www.best-teeth-whitening-products

An alternative to whitening your teeth is to darken the skin of your face. The contrast will make your teeth look whiter. See the optical illusion below where square 'A' looks whiter than square 'B' but they are in fact the same shade.

does the laser procedure for teeth whitening work well?
I trying to think of ways to whiten my teeth, and I wondering how good the laser treatment. I've tried whitening toothpaste and the teeth strips, but I'm not happy with them. anyone know the price of laser treatment?
--------------------
Yes i would say it works. My dentists teeth are so white they look plastic! It is a couple hundred dollars at least. It takes more than one treatment. I would call around to dentists and ask for prices. Most insurance does not cover this procedure because it is considered cosmetic! It can also make your teeth hot and cold sensitive.

what is a good teeth whitening system?
i am looking for a good teeth whitening system, something super easy and works and isn't too expensive? any ideas?
--------------------
OHHHHH Iv been waiting for this question for weeks lol I just started to whiten my teeth 4 weeks ago and i noticed results almost after a week. Im sure you have baking soda at home right? well obvioulsy u know its edible. Put some in a zip loc bag and keep it by your toothbrush. When you brush your teeth after putting on the paste - dip it in the baggy with baking soda and brush your teeth with that for 2 MINUTES! not 15 seconds otherwise it wont work. Baking soda removes the stains and whitens your teeth but you need to rush your teeth in order for it to work. It might hurt the first time on your gums cuz its the first time but it doesnt hurt a lot - it just has a "cool" feeling to it. Try this and youll notice white teeth after a week or 2 but you need to do this every morning and before you go to bed. You dont need those 40$ packs of crest white strips - they taste like crap too. Anyways Hope this works cuz it works for me and Im smiling as i type this lol xoxo ?

What are some good whitening toothpastes or tricks for whitening teeth?
I got a power chain for my braces, and the color on it makes my teeth really yellow. I can't change the color for a while and I can't use whitening strips because of the braces. Have any tips to make my teeth look whiter?
--------------------
seriously, i have the same thing. next time, ask if they can do a wire powerchain. the colours just represent strengths of chain, so maybe you could get coloured? anyway here are the tips brush after every single meal! Before bed, brush with toothpaste floss (optional here) ( after this flossing or brushing, brush with mouthwash every other night) use a sulca brush and brush everywhere with toothpaste, then quick rinse with mouthwash. where you see the couloured bits, brush them off with the sulca brush. If you didn't floss earlier on, then floss NOW! you must floss. Rinse and gargle with mouthwash. rinse using this i have BEAUTIFUL white teeth, and my powerchains had minimal staining (when they were in, then i got all wire). just brush every other night with mouthwash though, and be gentle! if your gums are bleeding when you brush, you are too harsh. it's ok aif they bleed a little when you floss, that's normal. people always comment on how white my teeth are! Good luck! hope this works!

how do I treat inflamation caused by teeth whitening kit?
I used a two hour teeth whitening kit that comes with the trays and 8 ampules by rembrandt. Now the area that is connected to the bottom of my mouth and my gums is inflammed and hurts so bad. does anyone know what I can do or take to fix this? thank you so much.
--------------------
First, do not whiten anymore for several days at minimum. This inflammation is usually caused because you are likely filling the tray with too much whitener, which is now seeping up to the gum-line. It could also be an allergy to the whitener, however this is much less likely. Don't attempt to do anything to the irritated gums. Don't attempt salt-water rinses, mouthwash or baking soda, etc, they will only irritate them more. Brush your teeth as you normally would but in the irritated areas, try to stay away from the gum in order to prevent further irritation. A trip to the dentist for a quick visit might be a good idea as well. Not sure if your whitening agent was an over-the-counter type or not, but generally those kind will irritate the gums more than the kind you get from your dentist. This is because the trays are not customized to your teeth and don't contain small reservoirs to hold the material in place without touching your gums. The store bought kind simply squishes the material out once the tray is seated because there is no space for the gel to sit, thereby pushing it up on your gums. Also, if you find that your teeth are now sensitive as well, your dentist can give you a prescription for a special toothpaste that will decrease sensitivity during the whitening process. Hope that helps!

Does anyone keep getting yellow teeth whitening ads as the side?
on the right side of the yahoo answers when you click a question, I ALWAYS get teeth whitening ads! "Is your teeth yellow?" lol making me very self conscious. What ads do you have?
--------------------
I get the yellow teeth too. It's bloody annoying. Especially since I fixed my yellow teeth ages ago. Actually I'm not joking. I was born without enamel and had to get verniers. Took 5 years of experimental toothpaste and super special dentists but I finally have a white sparkly smile. I think out of everyone I deserve to not have those ads bombarded at me!

Is there a minimum age for teeth whitening?
I'm 18 and would love to get my teeth whitened. Just wondering if you have to be a certain age and also does anyone know how long the results last?
--------------------
You age is fine for whitening. The younger you are the more likely you can to have temporary sensitivity as a side effect. The post below is one I wrote for someone else but has a lot of information....Hope it helps I can say that most of my patient's have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips (which cost about $20.00), some more than others. Our office uses the Supreme which are 4 times stronger than what you can get in the store (and cost $60.00), but the others will work as well but take more time and possibly more than one kit.The results are usually pretty quick, noticeable in the first few days, best in a week or longer. If you can, do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar, plaque, or orthodontic cement) will impede their ability to work. They will not whiten any white fillings you may have, but whiten uniformly. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). You should not drink or eat anything dark for at least 1/2 hour after using the strips. The strips/trays are your least costly whitening method as compared to custom made trays or in office whitening ($500.00+) All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. If you get sensitive use the product every other day in conjunction with a sensitive tooth toothpaste. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don't smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. Whatever method you use it will not whiten your teeth for life, as you age your teeth will get darker and may need to be whitened again. Good luck! JAMRDH - a dental hygienist

If I use Teeth Whitening, will it make my uneven color more uneven?
My two front teeth are discolored in spots by god knows what and I wanted to use tooth whitening via Crest whitening strips..... is there a possibility it'll increase the problem or is it more likely it'll make it less noticeable?
--------------------
I recommend getting your teeth whitened at the dentist for an even whitening as he can apply the whitener he has at different times to make them come out even. Worth the extra for that great smile he will help you with. Otherwise try some homeopathic BIO XII tissue salts for a few months as this will also whiten teeth evenly at much less cost. Available at most health stores. Louise

Teeth whitening strips, not so good for everybody?
I've been using whitening strips and had a terrible pain on both teeth rows for a whole night. Doctor said this is not recommendable for everybody... for who is it then?

Katas, Some people just have sensitive teeth and a lot of teeth whitening products can be harsh and hurt your gums and teeth. This happened to me with the Crest whitening strips. I've since found a teeth whitening kit that works wonders and does not hurt my teeth at all. You should consider giving it a shot, it's free to try from this link I found: http://32whiteteeth.com/Free-Whitening-K Best of luck to you!

A home-made toothpaste for teeth whitening safe?
Iv been looking on the internet for at home remedies for teeth whitening. I found ALOT of people saying baking soda, peroxide...etc. But i found this one that said to mix baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, table salt, and a dab of regular toothpaste and mix to a paste and brush teeth. Says to use once a week and always brush with normal toothpaste afterwards. Anyone who has done something similar, has it worked? And will it wear away my tooth enamel or be bad for my gums?
--------------------
My dads is a dentist, and when i asked him about the best toothpaste to whiten teeth he said what you have written - 'mix baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and a dab of regular toothpaste and mix to a paste and brush' he didnt say anything about salt, but that definatley wouldnt hurt you - just might taste foul. if you brush with a normal toothpaste and rinse with a good mouthwash like listerine afterwards it wont damage your enamel. and yeah, like you said - only do this about once a week. The peroxide isnt good for your gums, but if you only brush once a week with it and make sure you rinse it then you'll be fine.

Which teeth whitening kit worked best for you?
My wedding is this winter and I'd love to find something that will actually whiten my teeth. I've tried the brush on stuff but it didnt work at all. I also tried Crest Whitestrips but they didnt stay in place and the gel got on my gums and gave me sores and it also tasted really gross and I just couldnt stick with it more then 2 days. So what actually works? And what kind of results did you get and how quickly? How are the whitening trays?
--------------------
I know you don't like it, and I didn't either, but if you stick to the rules stridently, Crest Whitestrips really are the way to go. They do whiten your teeth, and in the allotted time. Otherwise, you can try that old-time treatment and gargle a bit of hydrogen peroxide.

How well do the teeth whitening trays at the dentist work?!?!?!?
I am going to get my teeth whitened and my dentist recommended this. Does anyone know how many shades (on average) this whitens your teeth??? I am not getting the kind of trays that are cheap from the store.. I am getting the ones @ the dentist. Thanks in advance! P.S. I really need to know soon
--------------------
They are good trays. You should have had an appointment with the assistant or dentist taking impressions to fit your custom bleaching trays. The shade change is different for everyone. There's no real average, sorry. If you are committed to following your dentist's advice post-treatment, then it should work very well for you. In our office, we do send the trays home with the patients. The initial in-office bleaching treatment is a "booster" bleaching. It accelerates the bleaching process to begin the whitening. You will see a difference as soon as you get out of the chair. The trays you use at home will enhance the treatment. The Golden Rule: if the food you want to eat will stain a white shirt, it will stain your teeth in the first 72 hours after the in-office bleaching!! Make sure to ask your dental professional for both written and oral instructions for post-treatment. P.S. Sensitivity may be a side effect, discuss this with your doctor at length.
