Does anyone know of a good way to whiten your teeth without going to get them professionally done? I get my head shots in a week and want to look my best. Any products that you have tried that work, and are on the inexpensive side? Thanks

The dentist I go to gave me a home kit. It cost $40 and takes a couple of days. Otherwise get something at the drug store that has a dental tray and lots of hydrogen peroxide in gel form. Finally stay away from coffee, chocolate and wine. These can stain the teeth and make them darker.

How do you whiten your teeth with water peroxide and baking soda??

Brush with the baking soda for 60 seconds. Then put normal toothpaste on your toothbrush and brush for 60 seconds. Do that once a day and the other times just brush like normal. Within 2 weeks you will see your teeth getting whiter. Within a month they'll be very white.

Can coca-cola be used to help whiten the teeth due to the high acidity it has?

Can I use whitening gel in invisalign braces?
I've got invisalign braces and would like to use bleaching gel to whiten my teeth. Normally it comes with custom fit trays, but I figure invisaligns would work just as well. It will save me a bunch of money to just buy the whitening gel. Can I?

It might damage the invisaligns. I would wait until its almost time to change invisaligns to the next one if you must do it. I would also suggest calling the invisalign company and asking them about it, or maybe getting your teeth whitened at the dentist.

Today, though, I bought Crest White Strips (No, I'm not advertising them, I swear), and upon first use, less than an hour ago, I saw improvement. I used them again, and my teeth became another shade whiter. I was pretty flabbergasted. Sorry if this didn't help, but I'd highly recommend trying these if you can. *Edit: I'd just like to warn you: be careful, because baking soda is not so good for your enamel.

I'm getting my braces off fairly soon, most likely in a month or two. I will admit, I was a stubborn child and got in a horrible oral hygiene habit since I was about 9(I never wanted to brush my teeth). My teeth are yellow and I've heard of people who had noticeably lighter colored spots on their teeth. So here are my questions: 1. Does it cost money when they polish your teeth after they take off your braces? Or is it included? If so, does this also include bleaching? 2. I've heard the best home teeth whitener is rinsing with hydrogen peroxide and brushing with bakingsoda and toothpaste. Does it really work? And is it heathly? I already have sensitive teeth. If it does help, do you rinse before or after, or does it matter? Haha(: 3. Is it possible to brush too much? Or does it not matter how much you brush everyday? Thank you so much(:

You can mix baking soda with H2O2 tyo make a paste or you can just pour a little baking soda into the palm of your hand (not the one you are holding your brush in...), moisten your brush, and then pick up some baking soda by dipping the bristles into the baking soda as often as you need to replenish it.

For example, those Crest White strips.. Do they work? I'm basically asking is there anything out there that you can get at walgreens or walmart or targer ECT that can whiten your teeth? My front teeth are kind of dark in a spot inside my teeth. I'm guessing its from my teeth getting hit because all of my other teeth are white. My dentist recommends a root canal but I have a fear of the dentist office. Is there a way to whiten inside theeth?

After the root canal is done, a whitening agent can be placed inside the tooth, where the nerve used to be and this will whiten the tooth from the inside out. This is called internal bleaching and it's a very easy and usually inexpensive procedure to do. The downfall is that the whitening isn't permanent so you'll have to do it every so often. For a more lasting effect, you can have this tooth veneered or crowned. If you haven't had a lot of fillings done on this tooth, a veneer might be best but if it's had lots of work done, than a crown would be the way to go. I hope this answers your question a bit.

Right.. i brush my teeth twice a day... once in the morning after my shower and once before i go to bed.. normally for about 3-5 minutes but my teeth still have a yellowish tint.. , Ive bought an electric tooth brush now.. and i am hoping this will sort out this issue.... i know that teeth aren't meant to be white and that wanting white teeth is just another form of vanity which has been thrust upon the public mainly by celebrities and models and all that shiz... I couldn't find em on the Target website, but they sell them at the Target where I live right next to the whitestrips in the dental section.

Gargle it in your mouth for 25-30 seconds twice a day. It sounds exremely gross but it works perfectly. I do it every couple of months and it makes my teeth a few shades lighter every time. I agree with Amanda. You should try to whiten your teeth after you've gotten our braces off :) What if the part under your brackets become less white than the rest of your teeth. I don't think it would look pretty :/ It might seem like spots on your teeth.

Can I keep a toothpaste that helps whiten teeth in my mouth for a long time (w/o eating or drinking)?

your teeth won't get whiter. no toothpaste will whiten your teeth to a level where you can see the difference with your bare eyes, that's how minimal the whitening effect of toothpastes is. but, if you keep the toothpaste in your mouth, you'll benefit from the fluoride in it. you'll give the fluoride more time to get into your enamel to make your teeth stronger. that'll decrease your likelihood of getting cavities :)
