Can I whiten my teeth after braces?

Ok, so I have terrible teeth but so far I'm getting my braces off hopefully by this month or next month but my teeth are kinda yellow but I brush my teeth 3 times a day like a normal person...I heard that you can't get the laser whitening after orthodontic work but I also heard that you can't. I'm kinda lost and all I know is that I want to have nice white teeth. Oh, and also, my mom smokes and dinks coffee every day so her teeth are kinda dull and she tried the whole "whitening strips" and it doesn't work at all for her...I don't know, maybe it'll work better for me since I never do any of that. so my question is: Can I get my teeth whitened after having braces for almost 3 years? If so, how long do I need to wait to whiten them? And what type of whitening do you recommend (I feel like that whole laser thing works better)? thanks and I need answers, not bad comments ;)
--------------------
i had braces for about 3years and ahalf. and i brush my teeth morning and night. and they`re white. after a while they`ll be whiter. OH and when they take off your braces. they clean your teeth. with something that is like. a metal. and it rotates. LMAO. i sound kinda stupid. but when they take off your braces. its a little dented. so they use the metal thing. and it whiten your teeth. trust me. when they take it off. all your gona do is smile.

Will my teeth be back to normal in 8 weeks if i do this?

my gums are kinda puffy and are inflamed, my teeth have also turned a tad yellow. if i brush my teeth with whitening toothpaste, and floss and mouthwash 2 times a day, will my teeth get white and my gums not inflamed again? ps. i have not been brushing much lately and have braces
--------------------
Likely yes, but if your gums are inflammed due to calculus aka tartar buildup the gums will still be irritated until your have your teeth professionally cleaned. If you haven't had a dental cleaning (with a dental hygienist) and a check (by a dentist) in the last 6 months, time for one.

do electronic toothbrushes whiten teeth?

the expensives ones say that in 28-30 days teeth DOES whiten, but is this really true? has anyone tried it? and has anyone tried the BLANX whitening toothpaste? is it any good?
--------------------
In my case it didn't work. The reason that teeth are not as white as you may need are complex. You should ask a proper dentist advise in case you truly need to have some results. My self I DO use an electric toothbrush build with specialized brush. What happens in many case the electric toothbrushes have common brushes at the edge of the devise which are not ideal for all cases. So, in one hand the electric brush DOES help to clean our teeth better, but on the other hand because they use simple brushes they might fail to clean properly. In my case I had to search many shops until I traced the Braun Oral B Vitality D12513P Dual Clean Power Toothbrush, which it does make a difference. Even if I feel my teeth much cleaner now I haven't though seen a great difference to whitening.

what is the best way to whiten your teeth without going to the dentist for it?

Anything that doesn't require a prescription or dentist. thanks

Crest White Strips are the absolute best product on the market today. We often recommend them to patients. We do provide whitening here in the office but feel that for OTC products and to save money, your best bet is the Crest strips. Hope this helps

I want to get my teeth whitened when im older...?

Well I am 13 years young right now and i was wondering: 1. How old do you have to be to get your teeth whitened at the dentist? 2. How much would it cost in £'s? 3. How would I keep my teeth healthy after they are whitened as they can make your teeth unhealthy and take away enamel? 4. What can go wrong with whitening your teeth at the dentist? 5. Is getting your teeth veneered the same thing? 6. How do they whiten teeth? Does it involve injections? 7. If it does involve injections... can i get gassed to fall asleep then they inject my mouth?? Because on Katie and Peter Stateside se was getting her tooth Veneer thingy and she wanted an injection to fall asleep but i have a big problem with injections in my skin. So those are my 6/7 question for the moment... AND I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF i HAD AN ANSWER FOR EACH ONE THANK YOU XXX (sorry that's caps...) Oh also this may start to confuse you but this is the first question: Whats the difference between teeth being veneered and teeth being whitened? Also which harms your teeth? Veneer or whitening?? sorry this may have confused you xxx but ide appreciate it if you answered those questions about that i just did the one abut the difference between them and which hams teeth and questions, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and the rest xxxxx sorry again lol xxx

-I don't believe there is any age limit to getting your teeth whitened. If you're under eighteen, you'll probably need your parents signature, and you're good to go. Certain dental clinics may have you be a specific age. -The cost depends on the method. From a chart I looked up, gels and trays would cost about £286 and would take about 50 hours to get your teeth 4-5 shades lighter. You can wear the trays at home. You could also do the laser procedure, which would cost £715. This procedure would take 2-3 hours, and your teeth would become 7-8 shades lighter. The BriteSmile procedure, which is a special light with whitening gel, takes 2 hours and your teeth become 8 or more shades whiter. The cost would be about £430. Note that I transferred US dollar prices into euros. Cost may be more or less, depending on the country you live in, though they shouldn't differ dramatically. -Teeth whitening is not permanent. It usually lasts anywhere from 4 months (Trays) to two years (Laser treatment). Your personal habits will effect how long the whitening lasts, such as how often you brush, floss, what you eat, etc. If you get it done, your dentist should provide you with information on taking care of your teeth after they are whitened. -I don't think much can go wrong. You probably will have slight discomfort and sensitive teeth after the procedure is finished. There is a chance that bleaching your teeth won't be 100% effective, in which case you won't be happy with the results. Don't worry, I don't think your mouth will explode. -As mentioned before, teeth are whitened with lasers and trays. No injections or needles required. (It usually is required for cavities, though. Don't eat too much candy) -Veneers is a more complicated procedure, used for teeth that are chipped, discolored, crooked, or spaced. They change the way your teeth look, kind of like invisalign. I think it's a porcelain film that covers your natural teeth. It's probably unnecessary in your case. http://dentistry.about.com/od/prevention… -Teeth whitening is probably safe, for the most part. As long as you don't go in every month for whitening, like some celebrities, you'll be fine.

chewing 12 teeth whitening gum made my throat bleed? doctor?

I chew alot of gum. yesterday i chewed 12 peaces of gum but not regular gum but the gum that makes ur teeth whiter. could this have caused my throat to bleed because of the content of the gum?
--------------------
You might want to talk a look at the content of the gum.. if it has "teeth whitening" features, it means that it has some bleaching content included!! Also, these gums usually will put a note that how many user can chew each day, and I assume you have over use it! However, if there is not bleaching content in the gum, then i believe it is something else wrong! No matter which one you are experiencing, it is highly recommend you to go seek for doctor advice! Hope this helps! Nick!

Teeth whitening strips really work?

Do they really work and whiten you teeth.....Or are they just as rffective as just brushing your teeth?//////
--------------------
Yes, they really work but don't buy the cheapest thing you see if you want it to really work. They are not just like brushing your teeth! If you want to play it safe, go to a dentist and ask him to suggest something. That is aways a smart thing to do because they know what they are talking about!

Is the "All Brite" tooth whitening kit bad for your teeth?

How long does the effect last for. I just bought one to use before I get married but am worried that it might be bad for my teeth which are not that bad, just wanted them to look whiter for the wedding.
--------------------
See your dentist and get a professional polish either from the dentist or the hygienist. Also if you wear a slightly darker lipstick it will make your teeth look whiter.

Teeth Whitening in my Retainer?

I have recently finished my Orthodontic treatment and want to whiten my teeth. I still have to use a clear brace just to keep my teeth aligned. I have seen kits where you get solution and a clear brace similar to the one I have now. My question is, can I buy just the whitening solution and put it in my orthodontic brace, or will the solution corrode or damage it?
--------------------
Wait , after that use an teeth whitening system.

will my filling on the front of my teeth remain the same color after whitening?

i just got a few samples, nothing crazy. i have one filling though, its on 2 teeth, visible in my smile. will i look like a goon if i whiten with these crest advanced whiteners?
--------------------
The filling will not change color and after whitening the other teeth may be much whiter than the old fillings. They may have to be replaced with a lighter shade to match the newly whitened teeth.

Laser teeth whitening pain question?

Hi all, I am curious to how the pain can come about from laser teeth whitening / bleaching. I just had my upper teeth done and i do have sensitive teeth. When the light was applied at random intervals and randomly after woods for a day, i would get shooting pains up into my head from my eye teeth (fangs). What does the laser do that can cause pain? As long as there is no long term disadvantages it was worth it, teeth are nice. Thanks Maddy.

Can I use 2 whitening strips instead of 1 on my upper teeth to fit all of my teeth?

I use Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal, and the top and bottom strip are too short and does not cover all of my teeth. Can I use 2 rather 1 to make it cover every teeth? Is it safe? Does it still whiten that way?
--------------------
They are not supposed to cover ALL of your teeth, only the teeth you see when you smile. This typically means to your premolars only. But yes, if the whitestrips aren't covering all the teeth you see when you smile, you can use 2. Perhaps try using 2 "bottom" strips on the top... and a "top" strip for the bottom.

Which tooth whitening product is...?

Fastest/Most efficient. Let's just say I need whiter teeth by next week. I've been contemplating over the Crest "White Strips" and the Aquafresh "Whitening Tray". Hmm. Which one do you recommend? Thanks in advance! P.S. I know I posted his in the "face" category already; I didn't realize. Sorry.
--------------------
I would go with Crest White Strips. I noticed a significant difference in about a week. Use along with a tooth whitening toothpaste and mouth wash and you will be good to go.

How can i whiten my teeth?

without all those whitening strips etc.
--------------------
Laser treatment, but if you don't want to have to buy extra stuff for it, next time u get toothpaste get the whiting kind and the whiting mouthwash (works so good!!!) Crest is the best, stop drinking stuff that will stain your teeth like coffie, tea, pop.. stop!!!! Drink a lot of water and milk and brush your teeth two times a day

How can I make my teeth...?

I kinda want my teeth to look whiter but ive tryed everything... I always brush my teeth and they still aren't really even white. They aren't like yellow but i want them to be white. My mom would let me but I dont want to whiten my teeth because my mom did and they dont look that much whiter and she said that it really hurts cause its bleaching your teeth! Is there any other ways that you can get your teeth white without bleaching (whitening) them?
--------------------
Try mixing hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Take a Q-tip and dab the mixture on your teeth. Keep it for a couple of seconds, then spit it out But don't swallow anything, works for me, I do it occasionally.
