ok i was wondering if these things are true.i heard if u brush with baking soda+peroxide or toothpaste w/ baking soda included in it.also if u mush strawberries with baking soda in it and apply it to ur leave n leave it on for like 5-10 min..also if yew eat cucumber it prevents stains on the teeth.i know crest white strips would probually work n listerine..also this thing called brite smile.but please dont say white paint cuz thats dumb..im not gonna paint my teeth.in other words besdies these working would have to be going to a professional...so can yew help by telling me if these things are fony n fake rumous?
--------------------
Yes, peroxide and baking soda are natural whiteners so they will help, minimize, daily stain. Peroxide is the main ingredient in tooth whiteners. I couldn't tell you about the others "remedies". I'm a dental assistant so here's my 2 cents. I would suggest the Crest White strips followed with peroxide and baking soda toothpaste (Crest or Colgate). Keep in mind though that if you smoke, drinks a lot of dark liquids daily (coffee, tea, dark soda, even red wines) you will not notice that big of a difference because you are putting the stain back on. Also, if you have sensitive teeth, be prepared for more sen. if you use any professional bleachers (like Crest whitening strips). The sensitivity will go away. Lastly if you have any tooth colored fillings or crowns, the bleach will not change the shade of them so you may notice that difference when bleaching your teeth. Oh, the Listerine mouth rinse, again, is mainly a diluted peroxide rinse. It's not going to whiten your teeth like the strips will. Hope this helped.

what is the best thing i can use to whiten my teeth?
i know they make toothpastes that claim they whiten teeth but do any of them work? besides going to a dentist and getting an actual teeth whitening what can i buy from the store-that actually works!- thanks :)
--------------------
The whitening toothpastes do work actually. What I do though is use a whitening toothpaste and then add some baking soda on top of the toothpaste while it's still dry. And I do this twice a day. I've been doing this for just about four months now and the results are great and my teeth were white to begin with.

whitening my teeth??
im 14 and until about a year ago i really negelcted my teeth ive been brushing regularly for almost a year with whitening toothpaste and my teeth r still yellowish? how do i get my teeth whiter?
--------------------
I had a similar issue but I was 20 when I started trying to solve it and it was just my bottom row that was the trouble. Whitestrips kind of work... Whitening toothpaste NEVER works... The WhiteStrips seemed to even out the colouration but they still aren't as white as I'd like. There are several different kinds you can use: 5 Minute strips I used these the first time because I got 2 months worth of them and I felt that the "slow and steady" approach would work. Everybody said I was an idiot and I should have gotten the 30 minute strips but I kept up and I barely saw any change. 30 Minute strips I just got these and I am 3 days into the treatment. I have noticed little to no change but these stay on better and don't taste as sweet. They aren't bitter but it still feels like you have a condom on your teeth (not that I would understand that feeling) Verdict; Get the strips but don't expect miracles. Use baking soda to brush your teeth if you can stand it and if you want fresh breath, use flossing but don't floss if you don't care. Also, don't brush your teeth before using the strips or they will fall right off.

is it better to whiten teeth without having braces on?
Right now my friend has braces and she wants her teeth to be really white when she gets them off. But is it better to whiten teeth AFTER you get braces off?
--------------------
You cannot whiten your teeth with braces. Even if she could, then when she gets her braces off her teeth are going to look ugly because most of it would be very white, while the part that the brackets were on will look yellow leaving yellow, squares on her teeth.

What is the best tooth whitening product on the market?
I've heard a lot of claims that those ones with U.V. lights work really well and also those with carbamide peroxide, but have also heard claims about it being unsafe at certain concentrations.
--------------------
UV lights are no longer used because of its cancer inducing risk, the blue light that is currently used is purely in the visible light spectra and is harmless. Most whitening products have the same ingredients but in different concentrations. a detailed color analysis and surface analysis of your teeth needs be done including taking photos under magnification to look at surface texture before the dentist can decide which product will be appropriate for you. always go for the professional whitening as it is a more controlled process and will give you best results

What is the best tooth whitening product to buy online?
How effective is it?
--------------------
One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations. Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels. In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth. Boyfriend has yellow teeth ,can whitening even help?
I've known him since we were little and even then his teeth were yellow, Its like they're permanently stained. He has brushed and brushes everyday ,its not like he has bad breath or his teeth are crooked its just they're stained! He's tried whitening strips & they don't seem to help and just make his teeth sensitive! I love him a lot but he's very self conscious about it..Is there anything that can help? Any Suggestions?

yellow teeth usually whiten reasonable well, however if he has had them all his life then it is more likely that the stains are inside the tooth. He should visit his dentist and get evaluated. There are a few options: 1. bleaching - the dentist will make custom trays and prescribe you a bleaching kit, usually 10% carbamide peroxide - this usually will work, however the length of time varies with different people. It could work in a month or take up to a year. 2. veneers - your dentist will be able to place a white porcelain over his existing teeth to make them whiter. - this will work on most all patient. however your teeth are transparent, meaning you see through them, so it would still be advisable to bleach his teeth prior to having the veneers placed. If his teeth are severely stained then in order to whiten his teeth with veneers, the veneers may need to be more opaque, meaning light can't pass through them. This will make his teeth more like a toilet bowl, but will be able to whiten them none the less. the success of bleaching depends greatly on why his teeth are stained. If he truly has had stained teeth since birth, then there could be a few causes: dental fluorosis and tetracycline staining to name a few.(however these usually don't cause yellow teeth but more brownish color.)

Question about whitening teeth when about to receive crowns?
Right now i have temporary acrylic crowns and i am about to receive porcylin crowns in a few weeks. I have to go to a another place where they will match the shade of my teeth to create crowns that match. The problem is a want to whiten my teeth a little bit, either by brushing more or getting them done professionaly or by using crest white strups or something i havnt decided. But the problem is i dont want to be stuck with my front fake teeth being less white because i plan to make my teeth whiter and i know that you cant whiten fake teeth. What are my options? should i just tell the shade matching people to just make teeth that are a few shades whiter? How much would it cost to later remove the permanant crowns in order to replace them with whiter ones after my teeth are whiter? What are my options? Any advice? Thanks.
--------------------
You would be much better off having your teeth whitened first, then have the crowns done/shade matched. If you are still in temporary crowns, you can keep those for several weeks or even a few months depending on how well they are made. Like the other person said, if you have the final crowns done and try to whiten your teeth afterwards, they may never match; and if you were to redo the crowns just to have the shade changed, you would probably be charged full fee again (or I can't imagine your dentist would redo them for free). The fastest/easiest way would be to have your teeth whitened by your dentist, since s/he can do it in one day, then wait a week or so and have the shade matched, then have your final crowns put in. Your other teeth over time will probably get a bit darker and the crowns will not, but you can always do some touch up bleaching later if you need.

Whitening Teeth and Eyes?
I was just wondering if I could make the surrounding of my lens a little bit whiter And I know there are things to make the teeth whiter but i was also wondering if that's safe and healthy? What are these products called by the way?
--------------------
Your diet will determine the colour of the whites in your eyes. If they are yellow/greyish then it's often because they are congested so you should drink lots of water and eat lots of fruit and veg. You should be careful using teeth whitening products unless you have it done at the dentist as they often just strip a layer off your teeth which will take the layer of protective off, this will make them even more prone to stains from cigarettes, foods, alcohol and coffee. Best thing you can do is clean your teeth, have regular visits to your dentist where they will give them a good cleaning and keep drinking lots of water!

Teeth Whitening Suggestions?
Best home recipes? How have they worked for you or a friend?

the only things that i have tried were the crest night-time paste (it was a while ago...idk if they even still make it) and custom bleach trays/gel from my dentist. the custom bleach trays/gel worked really well and i got noticeable results in 1-2 nights. here are some home remedies that other people have tried. my friend tried the first and second ones and they helped a little...they became a little whiter (maybe 1-2 shades) overtime. it is important to note, that these "home remedies" should not be done that often (once every 1.5-2 wks) as they can cause damage to your teeth. *take a little bit of baking soda (about a teaspoon) and just enough water to form a paste. brush. rinse your mouth with water. *take 1 ripe strawberry and crush it to a pulp. mix with a teaspoon of baking soda and spread over your teeth. allow to sit for 5 minutes. brush your teeth with toothpaste and rinse with water. *take a backside of an orange peel and rub against your teeth. brush as you normally would after. *rake a small Dixie cup. Put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in. Then put in a heaping tablespoon of baking soda. Brush your teeth with this paste. When you're done, rinse with mouthwash or water. Then brush with your normal toothpaste. hope this helps! =)

With a whitening toothpaste should I be using a normal toothpaste aswell?
Because from what I gather from the packaging it only whitens teeth and nothing else so should I use an additional toothpaste that fights plaque etc or is using listerine mouthwash after cleaning with whitening toothpaste enough?

If you want white teeth, buy some strawberries and use the skin to polish your teeth. It works pretty well. If they're really stained, try baking soda and lemon juice. Put some baking soda on a tooth brush, drip some lemon juice on it and brush your teeth while it's still bubbling. That works really well, but be warned, it tastes like shite ;) No need to buy whitening toothpaste. I don't think it works anyway.

having white teeth can entirely change your life. having a nice and bright smile can bring many friends and you can become very open and confident socially, but consulting a dental expert is the best thing you can do to be able to start restoring white teeth. he might be able to suggest a good, effective and safe teeth whitening treatments that is suitable to for your teeth. next is be able to distinguish the foods that can stain your teeth and the beverages you take in that can promote tooth stain like colas, coffee, tea, chocolates and sauces. be able to refrain from taking them and if not, you can always do proper brushing and flossing to remove the stains on your teeth after a meal. for more tips visit about getting whiter teeth visit http://www.trustedhealthproducts.com
