so i want to whiten my teeth but do do teeth whitening strips really work? does brushing your teeth 3 times a day whiten your teeth? or do i have to use whitening tooth paste any other advice or tips like any household remedes or w/e i can use would be appreciated thanks very much :]
--------------------
Brushing your teeth after every meal will prevent your teeth from getting any worse. And of course keeping away from coffee, tea and smoking will help too. ;-) The crest whitening strips work pretty good. I notice a difference the first few times I used it, but the more I used them though the less difference I saw. As far as the whitening tooth paste and mouth washes, they don't seem to do anything at all. What worked the best for me was this mail order stuff from teethwhiten.com, it worked really quickly. They had a free sample offer so you can try it out and see how it works for yourself. Click the link below if your interested in getting the free sample:

can i use a combination of teeth whitening products at the same time?
I bought the 5 minute crest strips lastnight, but once i got home and read the box I realize I have to use them for 45 days, I have the 30 minute twice a day ones too. Can I use both daily? Im in a hurry to get them whitened because Im getting married.
--------------------
You can use them both if you want the only problem is the more whitening you do in a short period of time the more sensitive it will make your teeth. If you want to be whitenend for your wedding and don't care about sensitivity then wear them more often. Either that or go to a dentist before your wedding and get in office whitening done that will whiten them pretty quickly compared to strips

Is it okay to use teeth whitening strips more than once a day?
I'm currently using Crest Whitestrips Advanced Seal and am about 3 days into it. You are supposed to use them once a day for 14 days, 30 minutes a day. I was just wondering if I could use one in the morning and one in the evening/night to help speed up the results. So far I haven't had any of the sensitivity that the box said might happen.
--------------------
It's not too bad, you just have a higher chance of getting very sensitive teeth. I'm sure it'll be fine.

You can ask your dentist about having your teeth whitened. It cost about $500.00 or try dazzle white, it works really great to get white teeth and the best thing you can try it for free. Visit this site, if you interested to learn more about it http://try-4-free-best-teeth-whitening.blogspot.com/

Can anyone recommend a brand for whitening teeth?
I've been wanting to whiten my teeth for awhile, but there are so many options that I don't even know where to begin. Any help is appreciated!!
--------------------
If you don't want to spend the $400 that a dentist charges, the Crest whitening trays work best, but are more expensive than strips. Using trays to whiten is more effective than strips but is also a bit more expensive. Crest white strips would be third down the list and definately work better than the dissolving ones. And, leave those whitening pens at the store. You can also dip your toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide, slightly diluted, and brush with that. Rinse, DO NOT SWALLOW. This will help whiten, too, as well as brushing with bicarbonate of soda (arm & hammer baking soda). So, SMILE,,,,, :>)

What is a good teeth whitening system that can be bought online?
I got trays made a couple of years ago and went through a bleaching system, kind of half way. I'm wondering what a recommended brand of bleach or peroxide is. I paid like $200.00 for the trays and kind of wanted to get something stronger than Crest or an over the counter, any suggestions

i have opalescence bleach (i mostly use the 15%). i get it from my dentist but they do sell it online (i know for sure they sell it on amazon.com but there are probably other websites). i have had really good results with it and def. recommend it! hope this helps! =)

Did anyone else experience pain when getting the Zoom treatment for teeth whitening?
my teeth were extremely sensitive for 6 hours, and even the next day there were a couple of stabbing pains.
--------------------
Try taking some Sensodyne (or any toothpaste especially for sensitivity issues) on a q-tip and smear a thin layer on the teeth prior to going to bed (do not rinse it off). Your dentist can also give you a fluoride treatment which is also very helpful if needed. It is very common for the professional strength bleaching systems to cause sensitivity, that is why many dentists steer away from recommending any bleaching systems period. More and more studies are being done on the effects of bleaching and they are finding that bleaching also cause teeth to fracture easier. Be careful

What would be better for my teeth? Whitening or veneers?
I really know. I heard that whitening can make your teeth fragile but then I heard veneers hurt when they are shaving your tooth. I have fluoride spots on my teeth if you've been in this please tell me!!!!
--------------------
PLEASE, try whitening first!! Whitening does NOT make teeth fragile. They can become sensitive but that's not fragile. Properly followed instructions on whitening does not damage the teeth. Veneers are placed after some tooth reduction and this reduction is PERMANENT!!! There are veneers on the market called "Lumineers" but I advise against them as I have seen many cases of gum problems with them. (Even when "properly" done ... before a "cosmetic" Dentist jumps all over this statement. They are typically over-contoured and lead to gingival blunting or hyperplasia.) Veneers are indicated in some cases but you should be FULLY informed of the risks and benefits of the treatment. Oh, veneers will break or debond and have to be replaced, they are NOT permanent. At home teeth whitening done by dentist?
I am picking up trays and the whitening from my dentist next week to do at home. I need to put in the trays 3 hours a day for 3 weeks. Did someone ever do this? Can I open my mouth when the trays are in or do I have to have my mouth shut and not move for 3 hours? I have sinusitis so my nose is really congested. I'm wondering how will I breathe if I can't open my mouth?
--------------------
You can open and close your mouth and go about your business at home. You just can't eat or drink while they trays are in because you don't want to swallow the whitening products or wash them out of the tray. Hope that helps. =)

What teeth whitening system is best and why?
I've heard Crest Strips are not very good and over priced. Anyone have any good ideas?
--------------------
There are several types of products available for use at home. Some of these tooth whitening products can be easily purchased off the shelves of pharmacy while others are dispensed by your dentist. One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations. Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels. In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.

I'm ready to spend more if necessary, but not sure what option works the best. And is it painful?

Is it okay to put a 'bottom' teeth whitening strip on your top teeth?
Somehow we've used up all of our 'top' teeth Crest Whitening Strips, and I was hoping to put in some strips tonight, so I'm wondering if it'd be okay and beneficial if I put a strip that is marked for my bottom teeth on my top teeth? would the only difference be that it doesn't cover all of the top teeth? will that look weird if it whitens at all? thanks a bunch! :) xoxo

What is the best type of "over-the counter" teeth whitening system?
My teeth have become less white since I started drinking coffee, but there's no way I'm stopping! So what's the best type, either strips or the gel stuff? Also, do they hurt? And are they uncomfortable? And I'm looking for something relatively cheap, I don't want to spend more than about $25. Thanks!

I have a plastic retainer, can I use it for teeth whitening?
I had braces for a while and afterwards they gave me a retainer that was a hard plastic mold. I want to whiten my teeth but going to the dentist is wayyy too expensive. At amazon.com they have the same 15-35% gel filled syringes that the dentists give you. I was wondering if using my retainer would work as well as a mold, and not harm my teeth or the retainer?
--------------------
As long as the tissue isn't covered by the retainer. This is so the bleaching solution won't touch the tissue and burn it. If the plastic touches the tissue, take it to your ortho and ask them to trim it so you can use it for bleaching. They will be more than happy to do this for you. Also, start with a lower solution such as 16%, and be sure to follow the allowed time to prevent sensitivity to the teeth. This won't harm the retainer or your teeth.

What works better for whitening your teeth?
Any type of toothpaste, product, or anything that would help whitening your teeth?
--------------------
I know the answer because I have been whitening my teeth for several years. I use Crest Whitestrips. The first time you use it, you may have to use two boxes like I did in order to achieve the whiteness level you want. Then I use one box about once a year. And don't use the fast acting ones, like the seven day whitening, because I found that the results are not as good as using the two week box. Not to mention the seven day box just has more whitening agent, which will cause more tooth sensitivity. Another thing is not to use generic brands. I have found those not effective at all, and a waste of money just trying them. In between the boxes, I use Crest whitening toothpaste (3-4 dollars). It has the same amount of whitening agent as Rembrandt (8-10 dollars), which I think is really expensive. Don't forget to floss and clean your tongue. No one wants a white smile and bad breath. (I tell my sister that all the time).

Does anyone have any natural/home remedy teeth whitening solutions?
Something simple that won't strip the enamel from my teeth. Any ideas?
--------------------
First I'll let you know of a few things that will harm enamel that you may want to stay away from: Lemon - this is a natural remedy that works well but has been known to harm enamel over time Hydrogen Peroxide - this is a big ingredient in many whitening products such as tooth paste as well as whitening strips. Although this doesn't have a huge immediate danger, it has been known to harm enamel over time. You may want to try the baking soda remedy where you make a paste with 2-3 teaspoons and some water and then brush 2 times a day with this. I found an excellent blog with a whitening product that works really well (I know because I've tried it). It is natural and healthy for your teeth and also highly effective. The other great thing is that it is Free for a limited time.

Is it okay to put the opalescence teeth whitening gel in a foil tray for one night?
I need to whiten but I dont have my correct trays right now, is it okay to make a foil tray and put the gel in that for the night?
--------------------
Actually i don't really agree with that. My reason is, we don't know if there is a possible reaction between the whitening gel and a foil tray that maybe a corrosive and dissolve the foil. You may get poisoned by the particles of the foil. The other reason, is there a guarantee that the foil is intact with the teeth while you were sleeping. There is a great risk for deattachment of the foil that expose you with the risk of swallowed either the foil and the whitening gel it self that maybe contain a corrosive agent for the alimentary tract epithelial surface.

Has anyone tried Brite White teeth whitening? Was it good and is this better than dentist bleaching kits?
Some years ago, I got a bleaching kit from a dentist for about $300 and it was effective, but made my teeth very sensitive for some time. Now, I'm considering laser and wanted to know if anyone has tried it. Does it work well? Did it make your teeth sensitive? Is Brite White (gel + light) the same as laser?
--------------------
Do you mean rapid white bright light? I was gonna get that, but it's too expensive. I got the normal one and after 4 days I'm already seeing great visible results. Anyways, the theory is that the bluish UV light helps speed up the process of the bleaching and it does work. I don't know about laser, all I know about cosmetic uses of laser is that it's used for spots and hairs. It kills the bacteria/cells then heals it apparently. It always works for spots, don't know about teeth. Good luck if you are.

Ones that I can buy from CVS or Walgreen's or some place like that.

As compared to other whitening methods, consumers prefer strips because they are easy to use, comfortable to wear and provide more consistent results. Individuals who use this product apply a thin strip of plastic to the front of both the upper and lower teeth. One side of the plastic is coated with a thin film of hydrogen peroxide; this is a bleaching agent. Once you place them across the teeth, you press the strips gently into place in order to get maximum contact. The strip is then kept on for a certain period of time that depending on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide within it. Strips are typically worn for 30 minutes, twice a day. Depending on the brand you purchase, you may use them for either 7 or 14 days.

What are some teeth whitening products that actually work?
I'm looking for something inexpensive. I used to use the Colgate Simply White but it's discontinued. It was affordable and worked great. Are there any similar "brush on" products other than bleach (yes I was dumb enough to try it) and peroxide? I've tried many toothpastes but they just don't work.
