what are good products for whitening teeth, after braces come off, that isent expensive?
--------------------
The least expensive way to whiten teeth is brushing with baking soda. Keep the toothbrush moist and cover about one quarter of the brush with the baking soda. This may have to be repeated during one brushing. Do this once a day every other day and gradually your teeth will whiten to their fullest potential. Baking soda is the prime ingredient in whitening toothpastes.

I'm not too sure abt it. However, there are many ways to whiten your teeth. Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth! For home remedies. Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month. Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening. Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth. Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains. If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you! Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night More on http://www.myinformationz.info/teethwhit

what is the best way to whiten your teeth at home?
i'm trying to get whiter teeth fairly quickly (in about a week or two) and would like to know, in your opinion, the best at-home product or home-made method for whitening your teeth. any past experiences with specific products would be really helpful, especially crest whitestrips, listerine quick-dissolving strips, or rembrandt whitening strips. thanks!

What is the best way to whiten my teeth without buying cleaning products?
My teeth are yellow, even though I brush them every day for a long time. I don't smoke, and I don't want to buy cleaning products besides whitening toothpaste, which doesn't really work.

Apple cider vinegar can be used for teeth whitening, simply use it as a gargle diluted in a glass of water or add a few drops to your toothbrush and top it with toothpaste and brush . More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/

whitening teeth with braces?
i have braces on top, but not bottom. my bottom teeth are a little yellow from coffee. i want to whiten them, but i'm afraid it will get onto the top teeth too, and leave marks when i take the braces off. what can i do to whiten my bottom teeth, but not the top ones? i don't have money for laser treatment.
--------------------
crest whitestrips work REALLY well. You can just use the bottom ones and then save the top ones for when you get your braces off.

What is the best way to whiten your teeth without enamal spots?
Im getting my braces off soon and i want to start whitening my teeth the day i get them off! But i dont want those icky spots on them, :)
--------------------
I've been asking the same thing. But i recently picked up a toothoaste that helps whiten them alot for just toothpaste. It's Aquafresh Extreme Clean with micro-active foaming action & whitening, polishing action. Basically all you need to look for is Aquafresh Extreme Clean. You can buy it at a regular grocery store. If you get the right one, the tube should be silver and the paste should be orange & white. I hope it helps you like it does for me. :)

thinking of whitening my teeth, but i have a (white) filling in a front tooth, will that stay the same colour?
also, what is the most cost effective method??
--------------------
The filling will not change color, but depending on where it is, it may not be *that* noticible after you whiten. If it is, your dentist can very easily change it to match your teeth. As for the most cost effective method, you get what you pay for. You can try over the counter items such as Crest whitestrips, but that won't be as effective as having your dentist do it in the office or with bleaching trays. Bleaching trays are probably the best long term solution because you can use them now and in the future if you want to whiten later on. They may seem a bit expensive, but if you think about it spread over a few years, it really isn't that bad. Just keep track of them so you don't lose them!

What's the best way to whiten your teeth?
I got my braces off like 7 months ago. But I haven't asked my dentist on how I can whiten my teeth. Not that my teeth are yellow, I would just like them to have a whiter smile and what I what I have now. I do not look for any special treatment that could cost me and arm and a leg. Are there any good ways to whiten you teeth? PS: I wear retainers, so I am not sure if whitening strips would work.
--------------------
There are a few ways you can whiten your teeth, and most people choose by cost or by convenience. First of all, all whitening procedures are safe for your teeth. It won't dissolve enamel or do any harm (common myths). Professional to store bought whiteners use the same whitening chemicals (hydrogen peroxide and/or carbamide peroxide), it just depends on the strength of the product. With any whitening, you can get tooth sensitivity, which is sensitizing your teeth more to cold and sometimes sweets. This is not a permanent thing, just while your whitening and maybe a day or two after you are done. It's different for each individual. The professional whiteners that I deal with is the take home trays and the Zoom in office whitening. The take home trays are custom trays that are made from a mold of your teeth, then you are responsible to do the bleaching itself at home, usually a 2 week treatment. You can either sleep with the trays in, or wear the trays for about 2 hours a day (depending on the strength of the bleach). With this method, you need to be responsible and do it for the 2 weeks, or you won't get the best results. If tooth sensitivity is an issue, you can do the whitening every other day for 4 weeks instead, and should get he same results. At home whitening can range from $250-$350 The in office Zoom whitening is a 2 hour appointment at your dentist (if he/she offers zoom) and that would be an equivalent to the 2 week at home treatment. People like this option because they don't have to be responsible and commit to the 2 week tray system. With the Zoom, your gum tissues are isolated with a special barrier liquid that hardens (the gel used is very strong and if it gets to your gum tissues, it can get 'burnt' or a white sore spot on your gums), then the whitening gel is put on your teeth and activated by the special zoom light. 3-4 15 minutes sessions are done with the bleach. Take home trays are also made with the zoom for any future touch ups you may need. Touch up whitening can be purchased at your dental office. Zoom can range from $300-$500. The over-the-counter whiteners do work, they just don't do as thorough of a job as the professional and need to be done more often. You also have to be careful not to get too much of the gel on your gum tissues, or it can cause a 'burn'. If you notice any of the gel on your gums, wipe it off with your finger or a toothbrush. The over-the-counter whitener that I like the best is the Oral-B/Rembrant whitening strips (comes in a silver, oval shaped box with blue top and bottom). These 2 companies came together to make this strip. I like it because the strip is made of a wax material, when places on your teeth, your body temperature warms it and it molds to your teeth and stays in place. The Crest Whitestrips have a tendancy to slide around and a lot of the gel can get in your mouth (and tastes bad). I am not a fan of any of the paint on whiteners. Over the counter whiteners can range from $15-$50. Just a little tidbit, don't fall for any of the toothpastes marked 'whitening' and believe it. That is all marketing, they really don't whiten. Good luck on your choice.

What Percent % of Hydrogen Peroxide Should I use to gargle % whiten teeth with?
I've Heard that gargling with Hydrogen Peroxide is "good" for oral hiegein, because it kills bacteria in the mouth and also whitens the teeth. I've read about the safety etc (Dont Swallow!) but was wondering what strength to buy? I don't want one too weak, but don't want to burn or irritate my mouth either. Just want a bacteria free white smile! :) Thanks!

Colgate Peroxyl is 1.5% hydrogen peroxide & is in shops. I think it might oxidise light staining from the teeth. Pharmacists sell 9% solutions but they advise to use diluted, as it is caustic to human tissues. The burns caused on the mucosa (pink bits to you) do fade within a few hours. Carbamide peroxide which is used to bleach teeth professionally contains the equilavent of around 2 to 3% hydrogen peroxide. Applied for about 4 hours daily on teeth. As a mouthwash it will burn your mucosa as well as bleaching your teeth. If you only use for a few seconds it won't affect the enamel enough to give lasting whiteness. Trial & error maybe, like all pioneering science. Let me know what works for you...!

Do you get your teeth whitened before getting braces?
I'm going to the dentist tonight and I need to know if you get your teeth whitened before getting braces
--------------------
NOOOOOO! Please trust me on this one-I'm a Dental Hygienist with Expanded Functions in the Field of Orthodontia. You NEVER bleach your teeth before braces! While your braces are on brush no less than 3x/day (I know it sounds like a lot but it's very easy to get stains on your teeth while in ortho). You should also invest in an electric toothbrush. Sonicare is an amazing brand (expensive but a very worth while investment). Onces your braces come off you can discuss bleaching options with your dentist :) Good Luck!

Can toothpaste actually whiten the teeth?
I recently started using Crest Pearl, and on the cover, it states that it can actually cosmetically whiten teeth within 2 weeks. Is this true?
--------------------
no it wont, it may removed some staining, read the packaging properly and you will find it doesn't actually claim to whiten teeth, probably just make teeth look whiter (by removing staining), you would need a product with hydrogen peroxide in to whiten teeth and it would need to remain in contact with your teeth for a number of hours per day!
