Well, I'm thirteen, and I have braces. When I didn't have braces, I didn't brush my gums/the very tops of my front teeth. Now the very tops of my front teeth are yellow. I brush them all the time [a few times a day with lots of tooth paste] and I also use whitening mouthwash, but they still won't whiten! How can I get them to be white besides brushing a lot/ODing on mouthwash?

I read in a magazine that according to the American Academy of Periodontology, that gum disease, cavities and missing teeth are as good at indicating heart disease as chloesterol levels. So it is very important to look after your teeth. No more than once a week, you GENTLY brush your teeth with a 50/50 mixture of bicarb soda and sea salt. don't SCRUB but be very gentle. if you scrub you will wear away the tooth enamel which will make yellowing of the tooth. also it is very important to floss. do this after every meal, at least once a day. I think that as long as you keep a good dental hygiene, you should be ok. That does not mean you will brush your teeth every cup of coffee, but I would brush no less than 3 times a day and definitely after a stain producing meal (blueberries or stuff like that)

ZOOM teeth whitening Questions?
I need a second opinion on Zoom teeth whitening. Based on what you know about it, do you think it is effective? I have dark yellow stains in between teeth and something else "dysplasia" that my dentist mentioned, I have white spots randomly over more than a few of my teeth. Pretty much, I have different levels on staining on my teeth and wondering if the whitening will even the color out, even if some start out as a darker stain than others. And what's the peoper name for the white spots found on my teeth? Does whitening get that stuff out, since it's NOT really antibiotics/drink/food/smoking stains. Also been reading reviews saying Zoom is not effective for people white white spots. Also my Dentist says there is a "Life time gaurantee". Does that mean free retouching in office when necessary? Also, they will send me home with an at home bleaching kit after the procedure. It'll be $400...let me know your thoughts. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Looking for teeth whitening trays?
I already have the whitening gel but I am in need of trays and do not want to pay the $300 my dentist is asking for custom trays. Can someone please suggest a tray I can order on line that is comfortable, hits all teeth and holds in place without access saliva build up? Thanks

If you don't want the ones from your dentist, you can buy over the counter trays, or you can buy custom trays mail order. You won't be surprised to hear that the over-the-counter types are the cheapest. Aquafresh makes one, for example, although there are others. They will not fit your teeth as well as one from your dentist, but they are better than nothing. You should be able to find them at Walgreens or other large drug stores. If you click on the link below, you will find a coupon you can print out and take to the store.: http://www.aquafresh.com/Savings.aspx There are also store brands, which may be less expensive, even with the coupon. I don't know how they compare with the name brands, however. The next step up are companies that will sell you the putty-like stuff that is used to make the impression for the trays. You then make your own impression and send it back to them. The company then sends you the actual trays by return mail. Altogether, the impression material plus the trays cost about $70, which is a lot less than the dentist would charge, but it is also more work and a lot of mailing back and forth. Still, if you do things just right, you can end up with custom-fit trays. Here is one example: http://www.amazon.com/Whitening-Bleachin… Personally, I decided that it was worth a one-time expense to pay my dentist to do the trays. Now, I will have the trays for the rest of my life, and if I ever need a "refresh," the gel is pretty reasonably priced, either from him or online. does bleaching/whitening your teeth remove all unwanted spots right away?
i just bleached my teeth for the first time, by putting the gel inside of my trays, and there are several white spots all over my teeth... will it stay like this, blend in, go away ?

That depends on if these are your natural teeth or not. Make sure that also before you bleach your teeth that you clean them really well.

has anyone tried crest teeth whitening strips?
if so how were they? Thought with them being a reputable company there's less risk of damage compared to all the unheard ofs on ebay. but i want something effective to whiten my (not very stained) teeth for my wedding. i want a hollywood smile! :-)

Yes...and they DON'T work! Hopefully you'll have the money to get them done professionally by a dentist...if someone knows of a product, I'd like to hear about it. I've tried a few other ones but nothing seems to work. I know some medications will stain teeth too but if your a smoker or caffeine drinker, that's bad too. Get them done asap by a dentist.
