I need help on the best teeth whitening products department. I've used white strips before but they're really gross for some reason. Any other best teeth whitening products methods that has worked for yourself?

I asked a friend (dentist) about my celebrity teeth whitener questions and she recommended ordering a teeth whitening kit online....it's the best thing I've ever used. It works great and really doesn't take that long to whiten. You can also go to your dentist and get the take home gel but the price for those ranges from $500-$2000. Try the whitening kit first to spend a little and see if that works. If you don't like it then visit your doctor for their home gel. You can also try baking soda and peroxide but it takes a very long time to see any type of 'celebrity teeth whitener' result.

Do teeth get whiter or darker in the 48 hours after whitening?
I just had my teeth whitened and am aware that I should keep to colorless, non-acidic foods for 48 hours. My question is not related to that, I think. In reading about tooth whitening, I have seen some reports of teeth relapsing a little within the first 48 hours, while other reports suggested that the hydrogen peroxide continues to get them *even whiter* within the first 48 hours. Is either scenario common? Is the better scenario even possible? Thanks.

I'm trying to find out what is the best teeth-whitening system without going to the dentist for a professional whitening. I'm researching for my fiance, who is in the Marines. Because he doesn't have the time, as well as all the amount of paperwork he would need to file to get a whitening done, we want to find something over-the-counter. He has really sensitive gums, so I'm nervous for him to use the white-strips. Do the trays seem to work better? Or is there another product someone could recommend? Crest strips are great. I've been using them for 4 years, coffee drinker, ex-smoker and they work great. I use them about every year or so. The key is to go through the entire system as directed to get max results. The Classic or Renewal line works great. The Premium line didn't work so good on me but everyone's different. The Premium line does take shorter time though, you wear them for 7 or 10 days. The Classic 14 days. And Renewal 10 day. I find the Renewal lifts deep stains (claims to remove up to 20 years of stains) but the Classic gave me longer lasting results. Any one of these, you wear for 30 mins a day, twice a day. It may cause some sensitivity. To decrease some of it, don't brush before use, wear the top/bottom separately, skip a day or allow more time in between each set. Like instead of wearing them back to back, wear a set in the morning and at night. There's also Crest Multicare, which gradually whitens your teeth. It takes 5 mins a day. I've also used the Rembrant whitening strips but no results for me. But my friend has used it and it works good. It's on sale on Amazon for under $10 which is a good deal. The strips cost about $30. Some dentists offer Crest Supreme too. I'm on that now. It has higher whitening ingredients and larger strips. While on any strips, avoid coffee, soda, tea, smoking, or dark drinks. Or rinse after. I use a whitening toothpaste like Colgate Total whitening or Rembrant whitening (pricey though) to prolong the results. There are more effective whitening options your dentist offers but since you ask for only otc. =) Good luck!

Is laser teeth whitening really the only way to whiten teeth?
I really want to get laser teeth whitening for graduation, but i have been using crest whitestrips and i haven't noticed much of a difference- whether it be because they arent working or I just can't tell because i use it on all of my teeth. If it really is the best, then does it hurt?

Crest Whitestrips seem to work well, and that brand has the big advantage that the maker is well known and has a serious reputation to protect. Whatever you try, DO NOT fall for any of the "free trial" gimmicks on the Net. In fact, I just would not buy any tooth whitening product that way; there are far more tooth whitening scams and hazardous products on websites than real products, and many of the sellers have very slick come-ons that will suck you in...and then sock your credit card for charges that you had no idea you were agreeing to.

Our office uses the Supreme which are 4 times stronger than what you can get in the store, but the others will work as well but take more time and possibly more than one kit. The results are usually pretty quick, noticeable in the first few days, best in a week or longer.If you can, do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar, plaque, or orthodontic cement) will impede their ability to work. They will not whiten any white fillings you may have, but whiten uniformly. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). You should not drink or eat anything dark for at least 1/2 hour after using the strips. The strips/trays are your least costly whitening method as compared to custom made trays or in office whitening ($500.00+) All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel.
