How can I whiten my teeth with things I have at home?

Hello everyone, I quit smoking about 4 months ago (yay me!) However, my teeth have never recovered! :-( Are there any home remedies you know of which can whiten my teeth.. Nothing with Vinegar please... can't stand the stuff... yuck.
--------------------
Yay you! Congrats on quitting smoking, that's a major achievement. I have read that baking soda and hydrogen peroxide work to whiten teeth. You mix it together to make a paste then brush with it. Don't swallow it though because it taste bad. You can also brush with your regular toothpaste after brushing with this. Should help you and it doesn't have vinegar! If you want to go a different route, my sister told me about a site that has good teeth whitener info. It's a good resource because the person that owns the site goes into details about what she did to get her teeth whiter. If you are interested, check out the resource link below. Whatever you do, good luck!

What is the best thing to use to whiten my teeth?

My teeth are really yellow from years of smoking and I want to whiten them. Anyone have a good product that works well?
--------------------
Over the counter tooth whitening products (toothpastes, gums, strips, etc) work by wearing away the top (stained) layers of your teeth. This whitens them temporarily, but leads to worse and deeper staining in the long run. If you want a good, reliable, permanent result, you'll have to go to a dentist and have it done professionally. They do it with UV light, and doesn't cause any damage to the teeth. It can be expensive though, up to $500 depending on where you live. But, there are a ton of websites online that will help you to find a reputable dentist to do it overseas for a fraction of the cost, and you can get a short holiday out of it as well!

What is a good Teeth whitening product?

See when i was about 8, I slid on concrete (on my face :() and broke half of the bottom of my front tooth. They fixed it by sculpting it. I'm not sure if you can use whitening product at the store for teeth that arent real, it might come out with a bad result, I would call or ask your dentist.

Dentist Teeth Whitening?

How long does it last and how much is it? thanks!
--------------------
Be really, really careful. I had it done (Zoom Whitening, I think it was) and it was the most painful thing I've felt in a while. They didn't say anything about a possibility of serious pain, but it came. It felt like little "zings", as though the nerves in my mouth were being ripped out. I did an internet search when I got home (I was suspicious of their claim that no one else had reported pain) and found forum after forum of people explaining their horrific experiences. Do your research, and check out a few nonbiased forums, because it hurt horribly for me. I had to leave before it was halfway done.

What are the foods that cause teeth staining?

I'm going to get my teeth professionally whitened soon and knowing that whitening isn't permanent, what are the foods and drinks I should avoid to make the whitening last longer. I know I shouldn't be drinking fruit juices or sodas or red wine. I should avoid cherries and blueberries. What else?
--------------------
::General Staining:: - Soda Pop: It can be your teeth's worse enemy. The acid in pop can "eat" your tooth's enamel to cause cavities. If you must drink pop try sugar free or use a straw. A straw allows less sugary, tooth staining liquids to reach you front teeth. - Coffee and Tea.: It stains teeth destroying your naturally white smile. The heat from the coffee can also cause small fractures in your tooth's surfaces. Try drinking cooler coffee and use a straw or brush your teeth after drinking coffee or tea. - Smoking will cause a build up on teeth that can cause a yellow to orange color staining. These stains can take longer to lighten. - Food such as curry can stain your teeth... For more info, go to http://www.dentalgentlecare.com/what_age…

how do i whiten my teeth if they are sensitive?

i have really sensitive teeth but there really yellow and very embarrassing i can`t do whitening is there safe whitening for sensitive teeth ?
--------------------
If you have really sensitive teeth, you can still do teeth whitening. you can do one of two things: 1. Go for a lower hydrogen peroxide concentration teeth whitening system. Although it will take longer to whiten you teeth, you are less likely to get sensitivity. 2. Get professional bleaching trays made at your local dentist. After whitneing your teeth, immediately use a desensitizing product such as Relief ACP Oral Care Gel, UltraEZ Desensitizing Gel. This will help a lot! there are many teeth whitening product reviews here: http://www.teethwhiteningreviews.com

Is there a way to whiten teeth without damaging enamel?

I want to get whiter teeth without using white strips or anything like that because I have sensitive teeth and I know they can damage enamel. Besides brushing 2-3 times daily and flossing is there a 'healthy' way to get white teeth?
--------------------
It seems silly, but rubbing mashed strawberry on your teeth can help to whiten them. I haven't ever tried it but it's a known home beauty treatment. Personally, I don't like spending money on whitener strips so I use baking soda and peroxide to brush my teeth. Really just get a small dish of baking soda near your sink and add enough peroxide to make a paste. Apply to your teeth with your brush and gently brush. Be sure not to swallow any of the peroxide and rise your mouth out with water. It keeps them nice and white as well as squeaky clean.

I need a cheap way to whiten teeth?

I dont want to spend over $20 for a teeth whitening but idk which method to chose i like the white strips but idk if there is anything better
--------------------
Forget white strips, and all that other junk.. You asked for a cheap way to whiten your teeth? Well just simply use Baking Soda & Peroxide (in the brown bottle) they both cost under a $ and is the two main ingrediants in all teeth whitening. Mine are as white as snow. I get complements everyday about how beautiful my teeth are. I don't use that method everyday, but it's a sure way to get your teeth white from, cigerette and coffee stains aswell as plaq...Glad i could help

whats the best way to get really white teeth?

I brush my teeth two times a day... Just wondering is anyone knows any home methods available for whitening teeth... I heard baking power :s any ideas?
--------------------
this, i have small tips for you 1. Avoid drinking coffee and red wine. Usually, the second drink that can quickly leave the stain on teeth. 2. Eat vegetables can clean teeth.vegetables appeared to be clean teeth naturally. 3. Note brush your teeth. Brush you can not do "tasks" if the operation has been worn or outdated. You may not include people who can use a tooth brush in a long time, but believe many people are "loyal" to their brush teeth although age has been obsoleted eaten. If you care to brush your teeth, you will certainly understand that the toothbrush may not be able to clean the stain on your teeth if most of the hair brush that has been lost. 4. Strawberry fruit has a natural effect that can whiten teeth because the fruit contains Vitamin C that rate high. If you're eager to drink juice strawberry's, do not dispose of the waste. Take it and scrape pulp in teeth, taken shortly after, gargling. Do regularly to get the maximum results. 5. Skittleur teeth with the routine once every 12 hours is the basic rule that you must do to get the white teeth. This habit can protect teeth from plaque and stain that be naughty. 6. Rub lemon rind in the teeth can also whiten your teeth. Do with the regular results could survive that long. 7. Avoid smoking. Smoking is the fastest way to change the color of teeth yellow. 8. Take advantage of dental floss to clean teeth during the day at least once. Dirt is very easy to slip in during the teeth cleaned and if not, I will become tartar. 9. Use a toothpaste that has the formula to whiten teeth according to doctors advice. 10. Familiarize yourself to visit the dentist at least once a year subscription to get your dental care so that the operation other than the more clean, teeth can become stronger. you can follow this information at http://whitening-tooth.co…

Iam Going to Dentist and should i get my teeth whitened proffesionally?

Well i got an appointment and somebody told me that Crest strips make your teeth sensitive ....well i can afford Proffesionally done by doctor also but do they actually worth it and how long does they last ?...........
--------------------
The whitening done in the dental office will give you the best possible results. There still may be some sensitivity (About 10% of the time) but the dentist will be able to treat it and will only be temporary.

What should I do when my teeth are extra sensitive?

I whitened my teeth with an at-home bleaching kit from the dentist's office and my teeth only felt slightly sensitive while doing it. Then afterwards the pain got progressively worse until it was pretty excruciating, and now its better, but still a nagging pain and sensitivity. This has been going on for HOURS now! I have been using a special sensitivity toothpaste with flouride when I brush, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I also tried tylenol and vicodin which didn't help the pain either. Does anyone know any products or remedies or ANYTHING to help get rid of or prevent tooth sensitivity? I'm supposed to use that whitening kit at least a few times to get desired results, but now I'm dreading ever doing it again after the pain. Is there anything else I can do to combat the sensitivity? Thanks.
--------------------
Sensodyne-F Revitalizing contains fluoride which not only prevents cavities, but also helps strengthen and remineralize tooth enamel. There are several other immediate relief products out on the market. One of them is Orajel, which can numb the area for temporary pain relief. Also, I once tried a product that came with swabs to desensitize your teeth with and it's supposed to keep the pain away for at least a month after only one use. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was called...but it did work. If you go to the store, you'll probably find other stuff like that around the oral care section.

Gums bleeched??? So I had the ingenius idea of whitening my teeth 2x as fast...?

So i had the idea of whitening my teeth 2x as fast... so i had my whitening toothpaste along with hydrogen peroxide and i was scrubbing while adding in the peroxide and i guess i scrubbed too much on a part of my mouth and my gums sting and now their WHITE !!!! sooo i think i bleeched my gums? -question is, will it go away soon? is it pernemant? eek!! stupid idea... any help??? was just gonna go on a 1st date...
--------------------
Nah, its not perminant. If you put bleach on your skin, you will get little white dots too. its nothing to be worried about. The peroxide was just killing the bacteria and some of the tissue on your gums. Just leave it alone... It should be gone in an hour or so.

What products are available that will permanently whiten my teeth?

What products out there will permanently whiten my stained teeth?
--------------------
I've tried loads of teeth whitening products and the best one by far is Blanx toothpaste, it's amazing! and only £6.99/$14 choose the intensive stain remover one. It's none abrasive and really does work! I've even had my teeth professionally whitened and the results were c**p compared to Blanx. And no, im not a spokesperson for them lol.

How often can you safely whiten your teeth?

I used Crest Whitestrips Premium about two years ago to whiten my teeth, and one year ago, I used half a Crest Whitestrips Classic pack to make them just a bit whiter. I want to use whitestrips again soon, but I was wondering if it was safe for my tooth enamel. Can you recommend some products that would whiten my teeth (only a shade or two lighter) that aren't too harsh?
--------------------
natures way is strawberries believe it or not. just mash them up and set the paste on your teeth for a few minutes. it tastes great, its inexpensive, and its 100 percent natural.

whitening teeth?

is there a way to get my teeth extra white without having to go to the doctor? does baking soda work?
--------------------
I had Brite Smile done and NOTHING will work like that BUT A couple things. 1) Whitening strips 2) Whitening mouthwash 3) Gargle with a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water (read the bottle and it will tell you the ideal ratio of water to hydrogen peroxide) 4) Do a quick once over on your teeth when you get home from school or work with a little bit of baking soda on a wet toothbrush. Drinking soda, coffee, smoking etc will make it harder to whiten then..... After you do any of the above do not drink/eat anything with food coloring/dye or smoke for about 30 min.

whitening teeth?

is there a way where i don't have to fork out for expensive treatments or messy kits to get naturally whiter teeth? like avoiding certin food ect.. give us any helpful hints thank you x x x
--------------------
for years people have used BAKING SODA to whiten their teeth. Wet your toothbrush and dip into the soda. The longer you brush your teeth and more often, they will become more whiter. Cocoa

Tooth-whitening toothpaste and mouth rinse doesn't work. Is there an alternative way?

Will I have to have a dentist/oral hygienist whiten them for me or is there another way of doing it myself? Like I said, toothpaste that supposedly whitens never does for me.
--------------------
Yup probably will have to go to a dentist/oral hygienist for a drastically whiter smile. What you can try is gargling hydrogen peroxide mixed with at least the same amount of water...it whitens teeth but only about two shades or so...
