how do i make my teeth whiter?

i brush every day twice a day but there not white any ideas on what i could use?? cannot afford teeth whitening

aqua fresh white trays worked for me they're like $40 dollars but work really great though you'll start to see results on day 2 and you could use listerine white rinse but whitening is also bad for your enamel but your just doing it once so it shouldn't really be much to worry about and you could actually use hydrogen peroxide like dip your toothbrush in the peroxide and then put baking soda on it like cover all the bristles with baking soda and brush your teeth with it and it should work but you might have to do that a few times though and try not to swallow any of the whitening stuff like whatever you use don't swallow it of course and if you like you can mix the peroxide with some mouthwash to make it taste better and rinse with peroxide too so that will clean your mouth. Sure! Try the Rembrandt bleaching trays kit. It's pretty awesome and easy to use , it doesn't irritate much either. You see, the kit contains two bleaching trays (upper and lower) you place them in fairly hot water then place the trays in your mouth, suck in really hard, and the trays mold to your teeth! Pretty freaking awesome, anyway after you got the mold then you place the bleaching gel in the trays oput um in your mouth and keep them in for a half hour I believe. The results are great and they lighten up for a couple days after too. I did this back in Oct 08 and still have great results! To keep up with it use Rembrandt Intense Stain toothpaste. The bleaching tray kit costs like $20-25 bucks and the toothpaste is $4. Good stuff that works ;D and i think you can get hydrogen peroxide from the grocery store just ask them where they have it Hope I Helped!! :)

teeth turning gray anyone know why?

I started using the target brand teeth whitening and i noticed the inside on my bottom front teeth are turning gray in between. ive used other teeth whiting kits and this has never happened. i tried to scrape it off but its like stuck onto my tooth I dont drink soda maybe a can a week. Anyone know what i could do to get this to stop?

You either have stain, tartar, or a cavity started in the area. Stain and tartar can be handled by the hygienist. A cavity can be filled by the dentist with a bonded composite filling.

The Arm and Hammer Toothpaste with Baking Soda works really good.. you can find it right by the other toothpastes. It looks and tastes normal too, and whitens super fast! I also used Sensodyne Ultra White with pretty good results. But the Arm and Hammer Baking Soda one is my favorite!

be careful about whitening your teeth with braces. if you use something that really whitens your teeth to a noticeable extent, then you'll end up having discolored squares on your teeth where the braces were. I recommend doing what I did, and getting crest whitestrips after your braes are removed. In the mean time, it sounds like you're doing the perfect stuff to keep healthy white teeth.

Does brushing teeth with sea salt erode teeth enamel?

I read somewhere that brushing with sea salt whitens teeth. I tried it last night and woke up to noticeably whiter teeth - It Worked! But now I'm worried that maybe it's only cuz it peeled of a layer of my enamel. Can that be?

No it doesn,t hurt the enamel and is safe to use Fine grained table salt is not the best choice, because it is not coarse enough to remove stains well. You will need to purchase some sea salt for this task. Sea salt's grains are much larger and so work better as an abrasive. Do not mix the salt in water before brushing, as this will dissolve the grains and defeat the purpose. Salt can be used alone by rubbing it directly on to teeth. It might be easier to add it into a paste like the one mentioned above. For this to work properly, mix the baking soda and peroxide together first and once it forms a past, then add the sea salt, (remember that you don't want to dissolve the salt in liquid). You can even add salt to the strawberry paste for extra abrasiveness.

I've used Crest Whitestrips before and they REALLY work wonders!! I didn't feel any pain, sometimes my teeth got sensitive to the cold, but it wouldn't bother me cuz I just stopped drinking cold stuff and I was fine. But it really bothered my sister, she said her teeth were really sensitive, even to the AC, so she quit after 3 days (even tho an improvement could already be seen). I guess it depends on your teeth, but its only for a week so I'm sure u can tough it out once you want those great results! :D

All the bleaching products I am aware of cause sensitivity. Prior to bleaching, I would start using Sensodyne toothpaste for at least 2 weeks. I would also alternate bleaching with Prevident fluoride gel (ideally placed in a bleachingtray) (can get a prescription from your dentist) to help with the sensitivity.

I use that toothpaste and even the regular one and for me it works great HOWEVER I would not advise you to use it every day..it is very strong, even the regular one and has a lot of baking soda in it. My dentist told me that it's doing its job awesome, but to not use it on a daily basis but every other day.. good luck and make sure to use your retainer lol :)

whitening toothpaste does work well(i like rambrant) and yes you should use whitening toothpaste even if teeth are white enough...even if you drink dark soda red wine and cofffee:) but if in doubt you can also try crest whitestrips...they work really well...i use them and i see patients who come into my office and i notice a difference in the whiteness of there teeth as well

What do at home product really works to whiten teeth.

I recently tried Zoom and was not pleased with the results. They say it lightned my teeth by only 2 shades. I also used Brightsmile years ago and the same thing. So is there something I can do on my own long term to get them whiter. I do not smoke, drink coffee, tea or soda. I am now 50, but never had a white white smile. I am not expecting that, only dental work can do that, but just want them whiter than they are now. From Zoom I was a A3 and was lightened to an A1 if that helps to let you know the color they are now.

try using the whitelight system.... its super easy and only takes 10 minutes, although you can do it for longer (up to 30 mins a day). you put the gel on the aplicator and it sits in your mouth. (there is enough gel for about 10 applications) then you just press the button to turn on and do whatever you want for that period of time... it sells for between 15 and 20 US dollars, which is pretty good. it really does work!! it whitens your teeth by 5 shades!

Just stick a wet (no soaking) toothbrush into the box. Don't put alot because you'll gag at the taste, but it really does a good job.
