i hate the shade of my teeth, and I don't want to spend lots of money on strops or the gels. If you know anything OTHER THAN BAKING SODA OR PEROXIDE please let me know!
--------------------
Well, other than baking soda and peroxide, it may be hard to find something that works that you can make at home. The site below has a lot of good info about teeth whitening and they even offer a $400 teeth whitening kit for free. Can't beat that deal.

Whats the best toothpaste for teeth whitening ?
Whats the best toothpaste for whitening ? "IN STORES " And what's the best whitening product in stores like over the counter so to speak ?
--------------------
Crest. Dentists recommend it and it's approved by the ADA - American Dental Association straight Baking Soda mixed with table salt!!!! Save your money on the others! I've used it for years, have white teeth, hardly any decays (1 in 15 years) and good gum and I'm in my 60s. If you rethink Fluoride, then think of this ... if someone is unfortunately burned in a fire, what survives that fire? Some bone perhaps, but always some teeth! Enamel is extremely hard, so I have talked to my dentist about this and told him straight out I don't believe in the Fluoride treatment because it can't get through the enamel. He had to agree with me! He told me whatever I was doing to keep doing it and when I told him what I used he was very surprised.

Whitening teeth after filling in a chipped tooth?
I never whitened my teeth frequently, but about 8 months ago i chipped my front tooth and the dentist put whatever it is on the bottom of it to fill it in. I would like to whiten my teeth again (with just the strips) but I'm afraid that the part of my tooth that was chipped will change a different color than the rest of my tooth. Anyone know if it's possible to whiten teeth that have been filled after being chipped? I don't wanna screw up my front tooth. lol Thanks!
--------------------
The bonding that was used to fill in your chipped tooth will not whiten. If you whiten your teeth now, your natural teeth will turn whiter, but the bonding will stay the same color. So if you whiten the bonding will become very apparent.

Which is least damaging to teeth: laser teeth whitening or drugstore whitening strips?
Also, a few other related qs: In which ways does each method damage teeth? thinning of enamel? etc? Which method would have longer lasting results? and which would cause the least sensitivity? How long will the sensitivity last in each case, and how intense will it be?
--------------------
Laser teeth whitening is less damaging by far!!! Therefore, your teeth will be less sensitive. It doesn't thin the enamel. However laser is by far the most expensive.

Anybody had good results with zoom teeth whitening?
I'm going to have zoom whitening this weekend, and although I've wanted it done for ages and I'm excited. I can't help feeling a little nervous about the whole procedure. Are the results really good? And what sensitivities did you have during and after treatment?
--------------------
I had the zoom treatment last summer with fairly good results. The results depend on how dark your teeth are in the first place. The results last longer if you stay away from tooth darkening foods and drinks like chocolate, tea, coffee, berries and red wine. I had some sensitivity that evening, my whole lower face hurt but I didn't get them to use stuff to make that better until the last 20 minute phase. I recommend that you get that rubbed on with any twinge of pain. It was fine by the next day. Overall I am happy with the results. Good luck.

Which teeth whitening product is the best?
I know you might say whitening products don't really work and that. But I've heard there are some that work. Do you know which one are they? I'm living in malaysia and I'm not sure of a product to buy. The ones that are popular are Pearl Drops and Colgate Advanced Whitening. Any ideas?
--------------------
I used Crest whitening strips, they worked really well. I've never used anything else though, so I have nothing to compare the results to. 00

alternative teeth whitening remedies?
I was wondering, does anyone know any good remedies to whiten teeth? I've tried Crest White strips and did not like them at all. They tasted terrible and they did not stay on your teeth. I found them to be most annoying. Also many of those "whitening" toothpastes on the market do not follow through w/ their claim. Does anybody know of any alternative remedies, even if it is a less mainstream whitener. I'll take expensive or inexpensive.

Why not let the expert handle your problem regarding such matter. I found this site on the internet, they are a dental clinic which have the most promising dentist in town. Spend your money with the right option.

What is the best over-the-counter teeth whitening treatment?
One that really works and is safe for teeth.
--------------------
The best cheapest one is straight up baking soda. Just pour some on your wet toothbrush (a very generous amount), and brush your teeth with it. Also great for the gums. It prevents periodontal disease. If you ingest some of it that is okay, it is also used as an antacid (although very salty). The companies want to make money, so sell a whole lot of other products, strips etc. But straight up baking soda works wonders, and is also good for your mouth. Baking soda is amazing stuff.

Rembrandt also puts out a great product to buy over the counter. It has Potassium Nitrate 5% as part of it's chemical composition which helps with the sensitivity issue. It is the same ingredient in toothpaste that helps people with sensitivity issues.

I think the Whitestrips from Crest would work good for you.I tried the free sample of Crest Whitestrips and I can tell you I noticed a difference after 3 or 4 days, but my family noticed a difference within 2 days. I didn't think my teeth were that yellow to begin with :P I have heard of people having sensitive teeth after but I did have that problem. I'd recommend trying them out first in case you are one of those unlucky people who has a sensitivity problem. Just go to the Crest website and look for promotion and it'll lead you through a series of steps or just go to the direct link http://www.freesamplesfromheaven.com/cre Good luck :)

How painful are bleaching trays for whitening teeth?
I am getting my teeth whitened and the dentist is going to give me some bleaching trays. I originally wanted to do this because my braces left my teeth yellow. How painful was it? Can you please describe it?
--------------------
I have bleaching trays for my teeth. They were custom made for my mouth. It doesn't hurt when you use them. They are fitted to your mouth and suction onto your teeth with the gel. It works quite well. Sometimes when I have had them on for a long time my teeth will feel a little weird after taking them off but it doesn't hurt.

The most common option used as homemade teeth whitening agent is baking soda, which has a mild bleaching action. Given that it is used in baking, it also implies safety. Baking soda is sprinkled on the toothbrush, and teeth then cleaned using a gentle, circular motion. Care should still be taken though, especially for people with gum sensitivity. Old wives' recipes often state that a paste of baking powder, a little salt, and a few drops of white vinegar, works effectively. Salt, used exactly as baking soda, is also touted as being a good teeth whitener. However, it might just be its osmosis, dehydrating action that makes teeth appear whiter, since dehydrated teeth look whiter. Lemon juice is often used, but it had high acidic levels, so teeth can weaken in the long run. Other natural, fruit options regard rubbing the inside of an orange peel on the teeth. A strawberry cut in half and the inside rubbed on teeth also works. Mashed strawberry can also be applied with a toothbrush. Apple cider vinegar is also said to be effective. Dried orange rind, and walnut bark, is also good. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.

Try Alta White. They offer a 90 day return policy and whitening results within 6 days. I whitened my teeth recently after promising myself I'd do it for about 5 years. Oh my god. What a difference it's made. I didn't realise how much I covered my smile because of the staining. Now I smile all the time and I've had so many people compliment me on my teeth I've had my confidence boosted too. Good luck

depends on your dental insurance, and your dentist. It could be anywhere from the $100's, to the $1,000's. I've heard the ZOOM process works, and I'm not sure if UK had it, but...I think it's in the US only, but ask your dentist. http://www.zoomnow.com/

Can I use teeth whitening trays if I got my wisdom teeth pulled two weeks ago?
Will the whitening stuff effect the "extraction site"?
--------------------
I really wouldn't advise it, give your mouth a chance to heal. It takes at least six weeks for the healing process, believe me been there done that. Such a short time to wait and a life time to get the teeth whitening trays done. Ask your dentist firstly and I'm sure they will give you the advise you need. Hope you feel better soon , regards Stef X

does anybody know a homebrew for teeth whitening ?
I drink a lot of green tea, and it has stained my teeth. I dont want to go out and buy teeth whiteners, or go have them professionally whitened. So does anybody know of any home recipes to help me out with this ?

For the millionth time... The main ingredient in Crest Whitestrips AND in what they use to professionally bleach your teeth at the dentists office is: Hydrogen Peroxide. You can buy plain old generic Hydrogen Peroxide over the counter for super cheap. Just swish it around in your mouth for at least a minute twice a day and spit it out. It may take awhile to see results but it's a cheaper version of Crest Whitening Rinse which is essentially mint-flavored Hydrogen Peroxide.
