Hi, I was wondering if there was any way I could whiten my teeth with braces on, I just have them on the top, but for some reason my teeth are yellow even though I use whitening tooth paste 3 times a day. Thanks.

I don't think so, because the whitening product will not go where your braces are. Brush everytime after you eat.

How can I make my teeth look whiter?
I don't want to use whitening treys unless that's all there is. A friend told me baking soda helps get rid of stains on teeth so they look whiter as well as peroxide, is that true? What else gets rid of teeth stains and plaque other than whitening toothpaste?

Teeth Whitening At The Dentist You will need to visit the dentist at least once, and perhaps several times over a period of a few days to achieve maximum whiteness. The cost of whitening performed by your dentist will cost on average $650 each visit. It should take no more than one hour per session. Depending on the number of sessions required, the total cost could be well over $1000. The good thing about whitening at the dentist is that the results are almost immediate. You can leave the dentist's chair and have teeth 4 to 6 shades whiter. How it works is that the dentist will first clean your teeth, then protect your gums with a special shield or gel before applying the bleach to your teeth. After leaving the bleach on your teeth for 15 to 20 minutes, the process is then repeated a few times. A laser light may also be used to enhance the whitening effect. For more information please read our article on professional teeth whitening. Teeth Whitening At Home Teeth whitening in the comfort of your own home is a lot more convenient and also more affordable than dentist whitening. There are two main variations of take-home whitening kits. Ones you can buy from the dentist, and over-the-counter kits bought from stores or conveniently online. The kits sold by your dentist have a higher concentration of peroxide and cost more than over-the-counter kits. Take home kits from your dentist range from $100 to $400. Over-the-counter kits or those purchased online are around the $20 to $100 mark. They are both applied to your teeth in similar ways. A whitening gel is used in conjunction with a mouth tray which fits to your teeth. Some over-the-counter kits may also make use of strips which you stick over the top of your teeth

can a teenager use rembrant 2 hour whitening kit?
im 15 and i get my braces off in 3 weeks. i want to use the Rembrandt 2 hour whitening kit to whiten my teeth but i read somewhere that its not good for someone to use strips until they are 18. Rembrandt isn't really a strip bit it is a mold filled with gel. will this damage my enamel or can i use it safely?

WHITENING TEETH ... A DIFFERENT WAY!?
i have been trying to whiten my teeth for awhile now and it hasn't been going well! After i use the strips my teeth are very sensitive! So of course this means that i can't go to the dentist to get them whitened ... it would kill me! lol! but amazingly i have no problem with whitening toothpaste. it just seems to take 4ever! So my question is: If i leave the whitening toothpaste to sit on my teeth a few time a day ... will this do the same a whitening strips? thanks in advance!

Ok, you are not going to like this answer but this is what I did-deal with the pain. The results are well worth it. Think about it: 2 weeks of your life with sensitive teeth equals super white teeth. I stopped 3 times before I finally said I have no choice! I dealt with the horrible sensitivity, talked like a freak because even air hurt and in 2 weeks had the teeth of my dreams!!! Just do it. Sometimes it hurts to be beautiful :)

Skin: Believe it or not, Vasaline works WONDERS for dry skin. As long as you don't glob it on, it WON'T be greasy, and does not clog pores. Use sparingly. I use it, and it also makes my skin glow. Teeth: I use a whitening toothpaste called Aqua Fresh Whitening. That works better than anything I've ever used. Also, there are whitening mouth washes: Listerine for example, but they taste NASTY. But if you don't mind the taste, I'd try that!

How to make the teeth become whitened?
I will brush twice daily. but my teeth are not white. Can you give me a better advise to make the teeth whitened?
--------------------
Tooth bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Many people consider white teeth to be an attractive feature of a smile. A child's deciduous teeth are generally whiter than the adult teeth that follow. As a person ages the adult teeth often increase in value--that is to say, they become darker. This darkening is due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. As white teeth are subconsciously associated with youth, they have become desirable. This has been made more apparent with the spread of American culture worldwide, where an especially white smile is coined a "Hollywood smile". The procedure to bleach teeth uses oxidising agents such as hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide to lighten the shade of the tooth. The oxidising agent penetrates the porosities in the rod-like crystal structure of enamel and oxidises interprismatic stain deposits; over a period of time, the dentine layer, lying underneath the enamel, is also bleached. There are two main methods of bleaching. The first involves applying a high concentration of oxidising agent for a short period of time, which is the so-called office bleach. This produces quick results but risks chemical burns to the soft tissues. Therefore, most in-office bleaching procedures use a light-cured protective layer that is carefully painted on the gums and papilla (the tips of the gums between the teeth). The bleaching agent is either carbamide peroxide, which breaks down in the mouth to form hydrogen peroxide, or hydrogen peroxide itself. The bleaching gel typically contains up to 35% hydrogen peroxide equivalent. The alternative method involves using a thin mouthguard or strip to hold a low concentration of oxidising agent next to the teeth for as long as several hours a day for a period of 5 to 14 days. This is known as take-home or over-the-counter bleaching. This is a slower process but has fewer risks to the soft tissues. The bleaching agent is typically less than 10% hydrogen peroxide equivalent. A typical course of bleaching can produce dramatic improvements in the cosmetic appearance of most stained teeth; however, some stains do not respond to bleaching. Tetracycline staining may require prolonged bleaching, as it takes longer for the bleach to reach the dentine layer. White-spot decalcifications may also be highlighted and become more noticeable. Recently, efforts have been made to accelerate the bleaching process by the use of light. Studies have shown varying results as to the efficacy of light-activated bleaching. Side effects of tooth bleaching include: chemical burns (if a high-concentration oxidizing agent contacts unprotected tissues, which may bleach or discolor mucous membranes), sensitive teeth, and overbleaching (known in the profession as "over white teeth"). Rebound, or teeth losing the bleached effect and darkening, is also an issue, with some studies showing the rebound effect over 30 days. A recent study by Kugel et al has shown that as much as 4 shades of lightness can be lost over 30 days with light-activated/office bleaching. FOR MYSELF: I soak my toothbrush in baking soda to keep it clean and fresh. I use baking soda in my bath. Keeps my skin nice and soft. (Even my elbows.) Baking Soda is a great teeth whitener. Sprinkle a little on your toothbrush before the paste goes on.

Will the new Crest 3D white vivid toothpaste really whiten your teeth?
I just got my braces off in April of last year and my teeth are really yellow and gross. I have tried every toothpaste out there. Does the new Crest 3D white toothpaste work for me?
--------------------
It's just toothpaste. I was excited to try this toothpaste, given its claims for whiter teeth in 14 days, the cleaning of a paste with the freshness of a gel (whatever that means), etc. After three weeks, I was not impressed.

How to whiten my teeth?
I live in the Uk, and all though we're not renowned for the best dental hygene it's always important to keep a nice bright smile. My teeth are looking a bit dull and yellowed, so I'd like to get them whitened. I've heard about laser, clinics that can bleach them, and also bleaching kits for home use? What's my best bet for getting whiter teeth? I'd like as cheap an option as possible, but I'm willing to pay extra for a better result. Are there any good brands or companies that you know are good? Thanks.

DENTISTS AND DENTAL HYGENISTS: is it safe to whiten teeth with baking soda?
please tell me if its safe and why/why not? i want to try whitening my teeth with it, because i've heard it works wonders. does it really? i just want to make sure its healthy? and if you have time to do so, please explain how you whiten with baking soda, if its healthy of course. thanks

Baking soda does not chemically whiten teeth AT ALL. All that it does is it increases the abrasiveness of your toothpaste. it would be like adding sand to your toothpaste. Like when you go to the dentist or hygienist and they polish your teeth with a pumice paste. When you spit it out you will notice that it is very gritty like sand....because it is! However, doing this removes micrometers of your enamel. That is why after the polish, they give you Fluoride trays. The fluoride ions help to rebuild the enamel. Using baking soda often, will also result in you losing small amounts of enamel. So remember, baking soda does not chemically whiten your teeth (peroxide gels that you put in trays that sit next to your teeth for 4-8 hours do chemically whiten teeth), it just scraps off more stain thereby (in theory) making them whiter!

I have always used Crest Whitening Strips and have always been happy with the results. I also use Crest Vivid White tooth paste for both Day and Night. This helps give the color a boost and even it out after you is the strips. I would also recommend getting an electric tooth brush, this will help naturally whiten your teeth and keep them this way.

I am absolutely not going to continue using these but I was just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences to this and how long did the pain last? I just want it to go away!! Is there any pain meds that can stop the pain? I have already been rinsing with fluoride mouthrinse, but it's not really helping. This pain isn't going to last forever is it?? Pleease help :(

Will a juice detox stain my teeth?
I just finished whitening my teeth a few days ago with Crest Whitestripes. But now I want to do a 3-4 day juice cleanse drinking only juices with kale, celery, beets, carrots, ginger, tomatoes, ect. Is this going to backtrack my whitening process or even make it worse?
