Hi, i've had my front top two teeth vanneered because i was premature when born and the enamel on my teeth was weak and my teeth kept chipping. i got them done for free on nhs as was only 17 at time, however i now want one of my other teeth done as it sticks out slightly. I dont know whther to get anythin done to my bottom teeth also, they have been worn down as dont have much enamel on but dont look bad, just little. what should i do. How expensive And is it painfull, as all i had done last time was vanneers.Really appreciate your advice. Thankyou x

Does Arm & Hammer Complete care toothpaste with extra whitening really help make your teeth whiter?
i just bought it today because I'm getting my braces off soon and I just wanted to know if it really works

I use that toothpaste and even the regular one and for me it works great HOWEVER I would not advise you to use it every day..it is very strong, even the regular one and has a lot of baking soda in it. My dentist told me that it's doing its job awesome, but to not use it on a daily basis but every other day.. good luck and make sure to use your retainer lol :)

Well my mum got this stuff from boots wich is just like make up for your teeth, I dont know how much it was bt it was under £10, It looks really good and all you do is put it on with a brush so easy to apply. You cn buy it in Boots

If you are referring to over the counter household bleach...that is a definite no-go!!! Depending on how shaded your teeth are you should seek different types of whitening treatments. It also depends on how quick you want the desired shade to be reached. A few options...if you are looking for just a few shades lighter, for example if you have a slight yellow shade on your teeth...use Crest Whitening Strips as directed. If you want need to go through many shades to reach your desired shade of white, for example if you have a grey shade on your teeth...go to a dental office and use their whitening kits as directed. The will take impressions of your teeth, make you a soft plastic mold of your teeth they refer to as a bleaching tray and give you the % of dental bleach they feel is needed to achieve your desired shade. You will put the bleach in the tray and place the tray on your teeth and leave it on for the instructed amount of time for several days/weeks. You may have to do touch-ups once in a while. If you want a really quick fix you can visit a dentist that has Brite Smile or something along the lines of lazer or light bleaching. You may encounter sensitivity while bleaching and if it gets so bad that you can't stand it, decrease the frequency of use (how many times a day) or the duration of use (the time you apply the bleach to your teeth). i agree with 1st answer... 2 weeks or a bit longer is a good time to stop bleaching. make sure however that you get your teeth as white as you'll ever want them because once bonding is completed and matched, you are stuck at that shade. in order to change shades again, you'd have to redo all of the bonding which is risky and expensive.

Teeth whitening Question..?
I want to whiten my teeth but can't afford the professional treatments at the dentist. I've tried Crest Whitestrips but they make my gums hurt and the paste on the strips foam when it hits my gums, maybe I had a cut? It was excruciating pain. Anyway, I've done some research and it looks like brushing with hydrogen peroxide hurts the enamel and makes teeth prone to cavities. What else is there for me?

Do strawberries actually whiten teeth?
I've heard people say mashing up starwberries and brushing with them or simply rubbing them on your teeth will whiten them. But is that really true? I mean, wouldn't that stain them red?

Nope it wouldn't stain them, but it WILL wear away your enamel. (Which you can't 'grow' back) Don't brush with anything acidic , (lemon juice, strawberrys ect.) Try brushing with baking soda (it removes external stains)
