I need some product like maybe mouthwash or something that whitens teeth and isn't bad for your teeth. Something that I can buy at my local Walgreens, Walmart, Jewel, CVS, etc. Thanks!

I LOVE Crest Night Effects...I didn't have much luck with the strips. I would just get mad at them and pull them off. Crest Night Effects is a teeth whitener that works while you sleep, so it fits conveniently into your schedule. You'll have a whiter smile without giving up valuable time during your busy day. The competitive daytime paint-on teeth whitener is water-soluble so it may dissolve quickly. Normal daytime activities such as eating and drinking even your own saliva can wash most of the whitener away in as little as five minutes. So while you're waiting for the ordinary daytime whitener to dry, your already-too-busy schedule has just gotten crazier. Using Crest Night Effects is as easy as getting ready for bed and going to sleep. Just brush your teeth as you normally would. I saw a difference within days....Its a two week thing just like everything else but within 2 weeks your teeth are so white. People were always asking if I got them bleached...or saying that I had the whitest teeth they had seen. Here is some information about them from the site... Crest Night Effects is a teeth whitening system. You'll get a noticeably whiter smile while you sleep over 14 nights.* It even works on tough, everyday stains, including coffee and tobacco. Why is Crest Night Effects so effective at teeth whitening? The secret is our patented LiquidStrip Technology coating that stays on your teeth overnight. It whitens teeth at home, while you sleep. The Color of Your Teeth When you look at your teeth, the color you see is more than just the color of the surface. Because the top enamel layer is translucent, the color beneath is also visible. And since the things we eat and drink contain coloring agents that actually soak into our teeth, the layer beneath the surface of the enamel becomes stained, too. Juice, coffee, tar and tobacco for those who smoke, all contribute to making your teeth look yellow and dingy. Teeth Whitening Dilemmas Teeth whitening toothpastes and products only clean the surface of your teeth and don't have any way to actually whiten the stains below the surface of the enamel. Special whitening systems are available to penetrate the enamel including paint-on systems. Many of these are water-soluble, though, and mostly dissolve away in as little as five minutes when they come into contact with saliva. The Crest Night Effects Difference Crest Night Effects' unique gel forms a LiquidStrip coating. The water-resistant coating holds the teeth whitening agent in place, slowly releasing hydrogen peroxide while you sleep. The LiquidStrip coating works to remove stains and loosen stain-causing buildup. In the morning, just brush the LiquidStrip coating and the stains away. After just two nights of using Crest Night Effects, you'll notice a clean, smooth feeling on the surface of your teeth. How to Use Crest Night Effects For the best effect, apply Crest Night Effects immediately before going to sleep. Don't forget to review our important tips for maximum benefit. Do not apply multiple coats of the teeth whitening gel. Reapplication may remove the previous layer. As you brush it on, you may find that Crest Night Effects does not form a complete or even coating on your teeth. This will not affect the whitening result. You will know Crest Night Effects is working because you can feel the LiquidStrip coating on your teeth right after you apply until you brush it away in the morning. You can sip water while wearing Crest Night Effects. We recommend that you do not eat or smoke while Night Effects products are applied to your teeth. You may find that wiping your teeth with a tissue before brushing in the morning will help prevent the LiquidStrip coating from accumulating on your toothbrush. Most people find keeping their mouth open for about 30 seconds helps the LiquidStrip coating set. Good Luck

Is there any good whitening product for fillings?
Is there even an at-home teeth whitening product for teeth that have been rebuilt, because my sister uses a few and says that you can't use them on teeth with fillings?
--------------------
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you cannot whiten fillings. The amalgam type (silver) are made of metal, while you may be able to *shine* them, they will not become white. And the composite fillings (white, or tooth-colored) are made of a material that are like porcelain; and they cannot be whitened. The actual tooth around the composite CAN be whitened, but not the filling itself. If it is very important to you, you can bleach your teeth to the color that you want them t remain (and continue to bleach to maintain that color) Then go to your dentist and have him or her remove the composite filling and refill with a composite that matches your new color Good luck!!!!!

Gingivitis/Teeth Whitening questions?
My teeth are really yellow. I have braces; but I DO brush my teeth THREE times everyday. What can I do to whiten my teeth? My teeth bleed a LOT. If I barely touch them they start bleeding. My gums and teeth are always sore and everything in my mouth hurts. This went on before I got my braces. Is this a sign of gingivitis? If not, what is this/what can I do to get rid of it?
--------------------
Start taking cod liver oil - it really helps your teeth. I was taking it after surgery (it's supposed to help you heal faster) and my dentist was really happy with my gums - she said that cod liver oil is really great for your gums. As for the tenderness/ bleeding - you've got braces. They hurt (a lot sometimes!). Try not to over-brush (that'll make the gums more sensitive) and try Sensodyne with Whitening. It takes a while, but you'll start to see a difference.

Electric Toothbrush / Teeth Whitening: Any Recommendations?
I'm after an electric toothbrush and just wondering if anybody uses one that they could recommend? Also, recommendations for something that helps get teeth nice and white, without the need to pay a few hundred pounds at the dentist. Many thanks in advance. PS. Non affiliated recommendations only please.

I've used an Oral B Precision electric toothbrush for a while now and it is satisfactory. I haven't tried other electric brushes so I can't give you a comparison. I also use dental floss because a toothbrush cannot always access the tiny gaps between your teeth. I don't believe in using tooth whiteners because teeth are not usually brilliantly white so I can't see why people cannot live with their natural colour. Just make sure that they are clean and healthy and not freakishly white.

Whitening teeth question?
I heard that you could use baking soda about once a week when you're brushing your teeth to make them whiter. Is this true? and if so... I've heard that the baking soda make break away at the glue on your permanent spacer if you have one. So is there a way I could do it with a permanent spacer? Any other advise on whitening your teeth that's easy and not expensive? -like something you could do at home? I'm thinking about using whitening stripes. Thx for the help! :]

When I was much younger my mom used to talk about brushing their teeth while growing up with baking soda. And they were always very white. Even her dad's who smoked. So, it must work. I'd do it every other day. However, I've never heard of it breaking down glue. I'd ask your dentist. Another way that's supposed to help whiten very economically it to rinse, BUT DON'T SWALLOW, with peroxide. White strips help to an extent, trays work better but are more expensive. And, I've found that the dissolving strips, like Listerine, although easy to use don't work very well.

teeth whitening help?
im 15 and im getting my teeth whitened soon do they use needles? does it hurt? what do they do?
--------------------
most likely they'll put a strap on your teeth. what the strap will do is take out a very thin layer of your teeth so all the stains will be pulled out. They wont use needles lol, and no it wont hurt; it'll just feel really weird... like putting a piece of paper over your teeth!

Does Arm & Hammer Extra Whitening toothpaste actually make your teeth whiter?
Or is it false advertising? This is assuming I won't be drinking any caffine, smoking, or anything like that, so I'm not going to be counter-effecting (or whatever) my teeth whiteness.
--------------------
Yes, it will gradually whiten them, its not like a sudden thing. It also helps if you use one of those vibrating toothbrushes. Especially the first time you use a vibrating toothbrush it knocks off an amazing amount of brownish stuff and you teeth look noticably whiter even then.

Teeth Whitening Question?
I just got my braces off on Thursday (YAY!!) and I wanted to know some ways of how to get them whiter. I am using baking soda already. I don't want to use Crest because I have weak enamel and don't want to risk it.... Could you give me a list of foods that could stain my teeth (like coffee) and then some foods that could whiten them (if possible?)? Thanks ?
