composit filling material will change color after some time, you need ceramic full crowns that will not change color.

Which is a better teeth whitener? hydrogen Peroxide or the crest strips?

Im wanting to whiten my teeth and I hear that Hydrogen peroxide works. but is it better than the then whitening strips? and do I have to dilute the hydrogen peroxide before using it?
--------------------
Crest white strips always made my teeth a LOT whiter than just peroxide. However after brushing, peroxide definitely helps. But you can have confidence w/out white teeth. And we're all meant to be the age we are, so it's a lot better than the alternative right?

i wanna do it but i don't know how much it coast.

Your dentist should be able to give you at least a ball park figure. It'll depend on your area and what he/she uses. I would guess around $350

How can I whiten my teeth?

I don't smoke, I used to not take good care of my teeth but now I do. I would like to find something at Walmart that I can whiten my teeth with. Something that you know works please!
--------------------
I would have to say that the trays work so much better. I bought the whitening strips a few months ago to use them the month before my wedding. While they worked, they were annoying to use. As you know, when you have toothpaste, or something like that in your mouth you salivate a great deal. Well, that caused my whitening strips to move around and I feel I spent an awful lot of time trying to put them back in place. My friend is a dental hygienist, and she recommends the trays over the strips as well. Good luck!

How long to whiten teeth?

So ive read the baking soda solution works to whiten teeth, but i would like to know about how many brushes or how long does it take to see results?
--------------------
Buy a Crest Pro Spinbrush. I bought one a week ago for $7.99 [plus tax] and my teeth are about 3 shades whiter by just using the brush and regular toothpaste. The brush has a round brush that spins on top, and a square brush that moves up and down on the bottom. Your teeth will be squeaky clean after you use it, and the stains I had on my teeth are almost gone, and like I said my teeth are about 3 shades whiter in only a week.

Could i use Flour instead of baking powder to whiten my teeth?

Don't want to go out and buy something, have flour in my house! lol!
--------------------
I don't think the flour would be abrasive enough to have the same effect as baking powder.

what's the best over the counter teeth whitener?

I have nice straight teeth, but lately i've noticed that they are looking a little yellow. I think it has to do with being pregnant. IDK anyway, i really want to whiten my teeth because i want to look extra special for my baby shower coming up in 2 weeks. What can i use right now?
--------------------
Crest whitestrips make my teeth ache. Plus you can't use them regularly, you have to have intervals of non use. My teeth return to non-white (I'm a coffee drinker and smoker) when I'm not using them. Plus they cost a lot. Now I brush with baking powder once a day. The rest of the day I use a regular whitening toothpaste. It works great and it's cheap.

How do i whiten my teeth when i have braces on?

I am getting them off soon and i want my teeth the same shade. thx! :)
--------------------
You'll have to wait until their off before you can whiten them. Your orthodontist or dentist probably offer professional whitening, but Wal-Mart has whitening strips for a lot less.

any tips to whiten teeth with a home remedy?

i have yellowish teeth and i whiten them without giving them much harm.(by a home remedy)
--------------------
To keep teeth bright and prevent yellowing, you need to remove the staining bacteria. This is exactly what happens when you chew certain foods that produce a high salivary flow. So, in addition to apples, take a bite out of guavas, pears, celery, carrots, sugar cane, cauliflower, and cucumbers. Another benefit: The fibre in some of these foods physically works to clean teeth and remove bacteria.

Would this be bad for my teeth?

Someone told me that brushing with a mixture of lemon juice, salt, and baking soda would be good for whitening teeth... would this work? or is it bad for my teeth?
--------------------
Lemon juice may make ur teeth look good and clean temporarily, but then your teeth becomes even yellower. And lemon juice is a citrus - VERY high acid. It erodes the enamel and makes ur teeth sensitive and takes off what you put on the teeth like calcium. Baking soda once again can whiten the teeth but is still harmful to the enamel. For both of these (and salt) I recommend NOT over-doing it. Salt is by far the best, but for lemon juice and baking soda, keep it to a minimum. And make sure you brush with normal toothpaste after using baking soda

What is the best toothpaste to whiten your teeth?

PLEASE DONT SAY CREST WHITESTRIPS.
--------------------
Store shelves are filled with so-called teeth-whitening toothpastes, which usually cost more than regular toothpaste. However, researchers say whitening toothpastes are less than impressive and that you can achieve the same result by brushing for the recommended two minutes with regular toothpaste. This is because peroxide and time are both needed to have a whitening effect on teeth. Many whitening toothpastes only contain that do contain peroxide aren't in contact with your teeth long enough to have much of an effect. Researchers say you're better off brushing well with ordinary toothpaste and putting those extra dollars towards a true bleaching product I found that professional teeth whitening -- though expensive -- is the most effective and convenient way to brighten your smile. The kit itself is only $25 but you would need a dentist to do the bleaching for you. The most modern ones don't even need curing light anymore and according to my bleaching patients, there is no pain and we finish the procedure in less than 30 mins.

How much does it cost to get ur teeth whitened?

yeah and cleaned/.. thats it though
--------------------
I'm not sure how much but heres some basic steps to get white teeth Step 1: Brush and floss regularly to reduce or prevent stains. Step 2: Try whitening toothpastes. Though heavily advertised, these only partially whiten teeth and don't provide a complete remedy. Make sure the toothpaste has the American Dental Association (ADA) seal of approval and has been clinically proved to whiten teeth effectively. Very few whitening toothpastes have undergone any type of clinical trial, and ones that are too abrasive can damage teeth or make them very sensitive. Step 3: Get regular dental cleanings, which remove many food and tobacco stains. No amount of cleaning will remove the severe staining left by tetracycline or systemic disease because these pigments lie inside the tooth; you'll have to take more aggressive measures against these. Step 4: Consider the two options, in-office and at-home treatments, for bleaching your teeth. A dentist performs in-office treatments by coating the teeth with a bleaching agent, then using periodic flashes of light to activate the solution. Treatments last 30 to 60 minutes, and the complete procedure often requires several appointments. In at-home treatments, patients wear a mouth guard fitted with bleaching gel 2 hours a day for two weeks, depending on the severity of staining. Step 5: Think about getting veneers, which are custom-made shells bonded to the teeth with resins. This procedure often requires removing a small amount of tooth structure and is the most invasive, as well as the most expensive, treatment option. OR YOU CAN TRY STRAWBERRIES! ( Natural way) You need: 1 ripe strawberry 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Directions: Crush the strawberry to a pulp, then mix with the baking soda until blended. Use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth. Leave on for 5 minutes, then brush thoroughly with toothpaste to remove the berry–baking soda mix. Rinse. (A little floss will help get rid of any strawberry seeds.) Carrel says you can apply once a week.

How to get my bf to fix his teeth?

My boyfriend is a smoker and has extremely yellow teeth, It's driving me nuts and turns me off. I've tired mentioning it to him and he was embarrassed and seemed mad at me for mentioning it. How can I get him to whiten his teeth without hurting his feelings?
--------------------
I agree with Erick93s. Be up front in how you feel and why you want that for him as the best thing for the both of you. Discuss this with your dentist and see if he can offer a free or low cost consultation to take a quick look and explain to your boyfriend what his options are. Simon W Rosenberg, DMD

What are the best whitening strips?

I just got my braces off, and i want to whiten my teeth without going to get them done.I'm not looking for a quick working one, but one that actually works (the best) Thanks !

One popular brand in the market is Crest Whitestrips. They have different range to suit your needs. For example, "Crest Whitestrips Daily Whitening Multicare" for the sensitive teeth, "Crest Whitestrips Daily Whitening Multicare + Tartar Protection" for sensitive teeth and tartar control.

Have you ever had your teeth proffessionally whitened?

what country are you in? how much was it? did you get the take home mouth trays or get them whitened there? were you happy with the result? do you have to get it redone every so often or is it a one off? how long did it take?
--------------------
I just used Crest White Strips. My dentist told me they work great and are a way better option (ie. cheaper) than getting them whitened at the dentist. It was a one or two week thing (I forget) and you can do it every 6 months to a year. I froget how much it cost... not more than $60. I live in Canada and I found they worked well : )

whats the best product or anything to whiten your teeth?

and whats the cost of it? how many shades whiter did your teeth get after doing it?
--------------------
My personal preference is Nite White Excel. Unfortunately it is not cheap for the initial delivery. When you go to the dentist they will make custom trays for your teeth specifically. Then you go back and they give you the trays with a starter kit. The price can range from $200-600, depending where you go/live. Once the starter kit is used up, you can purchase touch-up kits for a lot less. It has been my professional opinion that the "in office" treatments are not all that great in comparison to the take home methods. Even if you do the "in office" method, they still send you home with trays, and it usually costs a lot more. My teeth only got about 2 shades whiter, but they really were not that discolored to begin with. Since you have a yellow base color, I would say that you are an ideal candidate for take home whitening (under the assumption that you have no cavities and are in good oral health). If that is out of your price range, I have some patients who are very pleased with results from Crest Whitening Strips. One important thing to remember when whitening: the only color that will change is that of your natural enamel (outer portion of tooth). Meaning that any fillings or crowns will not change their color, even if the filling is tooth colored. I hope this helped you.

if i start to brush my teeth more, will they get whiter?

or will brushing my teeth more just prevent them from getting more yellow? i want to make my teeth whiter without whitening strips or getting them whitened at the dentist. Can they get whiter just by brushing with whitening toothpaste? or what about normal toothpaste?
--------------------
yeah as long as you take care of them properly they will be fine, of course! I can't guarantee pearly whites though When I see somebody with impossibly white chops I think "Hey, nice fake color enhancing you got there"

what is the most effective whitening toothpaste? and the most effective mouthwash?

i wanna whiten up my teeth more, but how?? what toothpaste and whitening strip should i use? please dont just say colgate or crest,, please say the exac name and why
--------------------
I have used the Crest Renewal Whitening Strips and they worked awesome! It's a 10 day treatment, but I only did 5 days and saved the other 5 because they whitened so fast. I also use the Crest Advance mouth wash because it doesn't contain alcohol so you don't get the burn of Listerine, but it still does the same job. Make sure you use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth while whitening. When you strip the enamal you can become sensitive to cold and other sensations...
