Hey... I just wanted to let you know that whiteners don't damage your teeth. They can, however, cause your teeth to be slightly sensitive. This doesn't mean the bleach has damaged your teeth. Crest Whitestrips do a great job of whitening as long as your teeth are straight. Because they are just a flimsy strip, they don't contour well if you have crooked teeth. If your teeth aren't perfectly straight, I would look in the phonebook and start calling around to see if any dentists in your area offer free or discounted whitening to new patients. A lot of times, if you get an initial exam and xrays (which insurance SHOULD pay for) you can get custom bleach trays and professional strength bleach. This is the fastest way to whiten. The whiteners that dentists use are basically the same thing you can buy at the store, only a higher concentration of peroxide.

laser tooth whitening - Some tricks for laser tooth whitening? slowly giving up?
My friends couldn't give me real answers on best teeth whiteners. I want to get super white teeth, but I can't afford the $500 visit to the dentist. Do you know anything that works for super white teeth? Maybe a product I can use for my best teeth whiteners question?

An acquaintance told me to try out a teeth whitening kit because I asked so many 'tooth bleach' questions. I was skeptical because whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, strips and hydrogen peroxide didn't work out the way I wanted. I got a free trial online and had it shipped to my house. Within a few days later, I could see noticeable results. I am getting so many compliments, a friend actually went out and paid $450 to whiten her teeth. Only if she knew what I did and how much I paid for it. Enough about tooth bleach. Try out the baking and peroxide first and see how that works. If you end up in my situation, I suggestion the whitening kit. Good luck.

is it healthy to use baking soda when brushing your teeth?
My mom suggested using baking soda on my toothpaste when I brush my teeth to help whiten instead of purchasing over the counter products. Is it healthy and if not why isnt it healthy>? If its okay to do this how many times is okay? ex once a week?
--------------------
OK, I swear by brushing with baking soda! I brush with it everyday once a day. And give it a week and you have beautiful white teeth. And just remember, baking soda is completly healthy for you. It won't hurt you! If it did hurt you, why do people bake with it??? :)

Zoom whitening RIGHT after getting braces off?
Okay so i get my braces off on wednesday (YAYY) and im getting Zoom whitening on my teeth a couple hours after i get them off. Is that a bad idea?
--------------------
1) A residual glue that you cannot see nor can dentists/orthodontists remove by simple polishing of the teeth after the braces are removed can remain on the surface of the teeth for up to four weeks after the braces are removed. If whitening is attempted before all of the glue comes off naturally, the potential for 'spots' or streaking on the teeth from uneven whitening increases. Therefore, I would suggest a minimum of three to four weeks before I would use any type of strong whitening outside of toothpaste. 2) Despite all of the RELATIVELY expensive tooth whitening toothpastes on the market, you can use a simple home remedy of baking soda on your toothbrush after regular brushing. This works as good, if not better than a toothpaste, and is cheaper. It does not taste great though. The problem with the 'painted on' whiteners is that they do not last very long, and over the long haul, they will cost A LOT to maintain. The alternatives to bright white from Target or Wal-mart are effective, but do not last nearly as long as those that you can buy from your dentist (Brite White and Zoom). While these are significantly more expensive than store brands, they will last one to two years without outside maintenance, and they are more effective. You could also do an in-office whitening which speeds up the whitening process (1 afternoon vs. 2 to 3 weeks with Bright White), and costs roughly the same. Toothpastes merely remove surface stains like coffee/smoke/food from chronic build-up over the years, and only work to 'whiten' them close to back to where they were before, but Zoom or BriteWhite will whiten them well beyond what you can get from a toothpaste or naturally.

Does Sensodyne Pronamel Gentle Whitening Toothpaste really work ?
I'm 15 and I was thinking about whitening my teeth without professional health because it's a little expensive and i'm trying to save up to get my own car. I asked my dentist and he said "I don't know, I never tried it". When I saw it in the store it was like 16 or 17 dollars. I guess it works because it's really high. But then again all expensive stuff doesn't work. So please help.!

A whitening toothpaste is simply regular toothpaste that contains chemicals or polishing agents that remove surface stains from teeth. This product does not "bleach" teeth through the use of peroxide (or contain a very low concentration of Carbamide Peroxide). While whitening toothpastes can make your teeth appear a little lighter, by getting rid of stains, they do not actually bleach your teeth. but, u are 15, many really whitening products, u can not use it. According to the MDS USA, whether teeth whitening is done by a dentist in office or with over-the-counter products at home, young people under the 14 years old Should Not whiten their teeth because teeth are still developing before the age of 14. 14 - 18 Years old Might have consider low strength home kits which will gently whiten the teeth but without any damage to the developing enamel. Include teeth whitening strips, gels, pens and mouth guards. It will take longer to whiten the teeth but also gets young people in to the habit of using a whitening kit every few weeks. so, u must use some products with low strength. there are Best selling teeth whitening home products in 2010, u can check it http://www.teethwhiteningbest.com/teeth-

What will get rid of cavities and whiten teeth?!?!?!?
Every single toothpaste and mouthwash I've used say they whiten teeth and fight cavities. I've used all of them and I brush twice a day, but I still have the same cavities and my teeth are still not any whiter. Don't say whitening strips because I have braces

About 6 oz. of water 1 cap full of hydrogen peroxide. I gargle with this every other week. (go 7 days, don't 7 days, etc.) Its whitened my teeth, and it kills bacteria, so it could probably help with cavaties as well. :)

Teeth whitening London?
Hi, I would like to get my teeth whitened in London but a lot of these places seem like make - shift surgeries etc. I have asked my dentist and she said was that "your teeth are pretty white, you don't want a fake american hollywood smile" . . . errr hello, my money my choice. So because of that, I would rather not go to my dentist because I am not sure she will give me the result I want. I just want to see a huge difference. I currently use "plus white" from the US and another toothpaste with hydrogen peroxide - my teeth are noticeably clearer after the toothpaste but need more white. I have heard of ZOOM whitening, has anyone done this in the UK, if so where and what were the results? If you have used something else - please advise. Thanks

Teeth whitening for wedding . . .?
I have previously used Britesmile (3 times now) for teeth whitening and until this 3rd treatment on Saturday, I was recommending them. They have changed thier methods and I was highly disappointed. I'm sorry, but for $300 or more, I expect their dental assistant person to prep me for having my teeth whitened - as they had done the 1st & 2nd times I had gone. They have changed to a more "do it yourself" method. In the past - you brushed your own teeth, sat down in the chair, their dental assistant person put a thing in your mouth to keep your lips open & away from the gel. They put a protective gel over your gums. They applied the gel/goop directly to your teeth. They set the light up and you sat for 20mins each session. Most of that has changed. there's more ...

I am getting married in October and I have always wanted to bleach my teeth. I am doing the at home treatment. I started using zoom almost two weeks ago and I can already see a major difference! I am using it twice a day, sometimes three. It was 500.00 total for the trays and 4 tubes of the whitening gel. If you prefer to do it in the one hour office visit it is $1200, but I do believe you have to do a follow up treatment at home as well.

Teeth whitening professionally - is this treatment safe...?
This place has a reputation to protect...so i think it should be reasonably safe...? it "is a bleaching process that lightens discolorations of tooth enamel. This process uses an effective whitening foam strip retained in a Cosmetic Bright mouthpiece that is worn over the teeth for 20 minutes. The Cosmetic Bright unique mouth tray, in combination with patented foam strips and UV-Light, is simple and safe." (You actually GO into the salon to get this done, you DONT do it at home) this is the site: http://vouchers.ellarouge.com.au/?view=5
Is this any more dangerous than any other type of teeth whitening? Dont suggest home remedies, they dont work and would not last anyway.
--------------------
This is perfectly safe. It is just more expensive. You do however get the same results that you would by having the dentist make you custom trays to fit your mouth and you wear at home with the bleaching gel that your dentist provides for you. This process is different than what you can purchase at any store. The concentration of bleach is higher. But the one you are asking about is safe. You may develop some sensitivity. This can happen with any bleaching product, but is more common with this type of treatment. If it happens, just use Sensodyne toothpaste for a while and it should go away.

Hi, My Wife has had problems with yellow teeth. She is in to modeling and cannot quit cigarettes. We have tried almost every teeth whitening system out there. She had some success with baking soda but the Dentist has strictly warned her. Baking Soda and other pure forms can harm your teeth in a longer run. Tooth whitening trays gave her pain and irritation. Lately, My wife has been trying Dazzle White tooth whitening system and it has been working for her. Our Dentist recommended it and we have been lucky to get free trials of it from http://www.getfreebs.com/dazzle-white-fr ....we just paid $1.95 for shipping. I am very happy now as my wife is happy. She has bright white teeth now...so no worries. This system does work fr sure. I am not endorsing or doing publicity for anyone. I am just trying to help you with something that really works.

Teeth whitening gel you get at the dentist - what brand?
I got my teeth whitened a couple years ago - I still have the plastic thing that you put over your teeth (customized for my teeth at the dentist). But I can't remember what brand the whitening gel was. I'm pretty sure I can get it online for much cheaper but I can't remember the particular brand. It worked great. I tried to look online but there are so many different ones out there, I'm not sure if those ones work as good. If you've had experience with teeth whitening gel from the dentist, what is the brand? Thanks

You have a great choice from boots but i wouldn't recommend using them. Any dentist will tell you of the horror stories of when they go wrong, and i have seen friends spend a fortune at the dentist putting them right. If you clean and floss every day tour teeth will be healthy. The white teeth you see on all those TV stars are not the way teeth are meant to be. Give it some thought first.

whitening teeth ? ? ?
I've been using some Crest White Strips Pro Effects - "highest whitening at retail".. They seem to be working alright, probably will need a second box to get my teeth super-white. However, the strips only whiten what is generally visible when you smile. Is there an easy/somewhat inexpensive way to lighten the rest of my teeth a bit? Would using peroxide as a mouthwash for durations of time have an effect?
--------------------
it would probably help. i would probably talk to ur dentist to see if he has anything to say or something that would help better (even if not, its best to ask him bc some home remedies [like peroxide] can damage ur teeth overtime) if ur not already, i would suggest getting a whitening toothpaste too. i use Crest whitening expressions (in wintergreen ice) and that seems to help maintain my smile (i have custom bleach trays and bleach from the dentist) and also have Crest weekly clean toothpaste (although i haven't used that since i bleached my teeth). another thing that i would suggest is getting a really good toothbrush. right now i have a sonicare one (i think it cost about $130, but i think they do have cheaper ones)...i will say though that i think that any toothbrush that is battery powered (even the ones that cost around $10) work better and make teeth whiter than a manual toothbrush hope this helps! =)

Can you whiten your teeth brushing them everyday?
my teeth have just a tad bit yellow tint to them and i wanted to know if i brush them everyday will they start to get white?
--------------------
They will if you do it properly and use the proper type of toothpaste. There are toothpastes which are meant for whitening teeth. You might also want to try using mouthwash. If you want to do it quickly you could also try whitening strips. But the important thing is that you remember to brush your teeth at least twice a day.

I had them and I used Sensodyne, it seems to have worked, If you don't have them now, don't panic just go see ur Dentist. He will probably tell you you are creating worry for no reason. You also may need to remember that when you whiten your teeth you are in effect abrasively rubbing them. This may cause more problems than it solves all in the name of beauty. Is it worth it?

how come come peoples teeth are so white it looks as white as toothpaste?
I have had my teeth prossesionaly whitened, they are whiter but not GLOWING white. How come some peoples are so white? Is it because they are veeners or capped
--------------------
Let me say one thing about this...No one has glowing white teeth naturally. Be in a position where you have to have a bridge made to replace a tooth that had been damaged beyond repair, and when the dentist goes to match it to your teeth, when you look at the color spectrum, and all of them are some shade of pale gray , ivory or yellow. Caps are the same, as are dentures. If you want to have "glowing white teeth", many would say that you would probably have to stop eating...the consumption of soda ( especially cola), coffee, tea, berries, etc. all have staining properties on your teeth that becomes permanent after time, Smoking does this too...and much of what you see on celebs is the effect of having photos retouched. It is not natural, and whitening too much by chemical process can damage the enamel of your teeth. The excessively white teeth thing just came about in the past 10 years...
