I'm trying to find out what is the best teeth-whitening system without going to the dentist for a professional whitening. I'm researching for my fiance, who is in the Marines. Because he doesn't have the time, as well as all the amount of paperwork he would need to file to get a whitening done, we want to find something over-the-counter. He has really sensitive gums, so I'm nervous for him to use the white-strips. Do the trays seem to work better? Or is there another product someone could recommend? Any suggestions would be great...thanks!

I smoked for quite a few years. After I quit, I wanted to whiten my teeth. My dentist told me to use this teeth whitening kit. It worked great and I appreciate not having to spend a fortune. http://best-home-teeth-whitening.info

whitening teeth?
i read a answer on YA that you can use peroxide to whiten your teeth? like hydrogen peroxide the stuff u put on cuts? im cnfsd and the whitening strips rlly hurt my teeth (all of the ones ive tried and the trays too) and i havent sen any diffrence in a month prior to using them, are there home remedies to whiten them? whitening toothpaste shows no diffrence either.
--------------------
Brushing your teeth with baking soda and peroxide will whiten your teeth. It tastes really bad but, it works. I am really sensitive to all of the whitening strips and trays too, so i tried this remedy 4 a week and I could see a significant difference. Another thing that has helped is using the Listerine Whitening pre-brush rinse. I use that every other day and it works and doesn't make my teeth hurt.

Whitening Teeth Questions?
My Mom is gonna bring me to a dentist in a month to get my teeth whitened and reshaped. So, I was wondering if they would be able to still whiten and reshape my teeth even if I have a loose tooth of if I have a tooth that is still growing? Thanks for whoever answers this! :D
--------------------
hiia, i dont get what you mean when you say reshaping... but i can help with the whitening. and yes, they can whiten teeth if you lose a tooth, but you'll have to wait untill the ones that are still growing grow :) xx

What is the best teeth whitening toothpaste on the market in the UK?
I'm not really that interested in bleaching kits that are out there (tried some and they juts don't seem to work, but if anyone knows anyone that actually do work then please recommend them to me thanks) but juts toothpaste that actually works. They all claim to remove stains and whiten teeth but I've been using asda's brand of whitening toothpaste for a couple of years (it's what my mum buys) and I'm noticing no difference. I read somewhere that they can remove old stains just prevent new ones from forming. Is this true? What whitening toothpaste do dentist recommend?

Macleans White & Shine! (comes in a purple & Silver tube) My dentist swears by it and I have been using it for a year now and I can not believe how great it is. When I travelled back to Australia I couldn't get it out there and I noticed a huge change in the colour! Trust me I too have tried sooo many different gels and whitening sets but this is the best! xx x

Help with this teeth-whitening business!---Bleeding gums are NOT acceptable?
I'm wondering if the reason why my gums bleed when I use the Colgate Visible-White system is caused by some nerve damage with my teeth or if it's just me not being very capable of applying the right amount of gel. I only began using this gel recently, but I've had two sensitive lower teeth for quite a while after a surgery, so either of these issues is possible. Obviously I got a little too much gel on my gums, but it doesn't seem to affect other areas as badly as these particularly finicky ones on the bottom. I'm not going to just deal with my gums bleeding and being sore for about an hour afterwards, just because that's simply not healthy. And I probably won't try any other kind of whitening system just because my dentist gave this one to me for free and I'm not vain enough to spend $60 on a new one. Any educated guesses as to what's going on? Testimonials of similar issues?

anyone have the best teeth whitening procedures and how to know what type of dentist too chose from?
does anyone know of the best teeth whitening procedures out there on the market that i can request my dentist use? and, i have a basic dentist, hes an older guy, should i search for a new dentist that has up to date innovative techniques on lumineers or whitening options? im thinking my dentist is old school, he works alone with one receptionist in a small office, how do i find a qualified dentist for whitening and or lumineer procedures/veneers etc. when l look at the phone book or online all of the dentists look the same so im wondering before i waste time how do i find the right practitioner? thanks!
--------------------
Any dentist can do tooth whitening. I have two procedures, the first is the take home kit which is with a tray and you place it over night for 3 nights ( makes your teeth 4 shades lighter ), the other procedure is radiant white which would be for an hour or so but it would make your teeth 11 shades lighter. In finding the right practitioner may it be a dentist or a doctor, first and for most, you should trust the practitioner, you can relate to that person and communicate to them comfortably and you are satisfied with what they do because you are confident that he has the skill to do it. No one can tell you who the right dentist is for you, you will be the one to look for them, others would refer for you to the practitioner that is right for them but you should try them first before you know and if you are not satisfied the search continues. Good Luck.

Quick Teeth Whitening Ideas? Please!?
I have 5 days & i want to whiten my teeth. i started the crest whitestrips today, will they be helpful? should i do something as well as the whitestrips? know of anything else at home i can do? thanks!

One popular tooth whitening product that you can use is bleaching solution that contains peroxide for bleaching tooth enamel. The bleaching agent in these products is usually carbamide peroxide, which is available in 10, 16 and 22 percent concentrations. Whiteners that contain peroxide typically come in gel form and are placed in a mouthguard. Some products are used twice a day for 2 weeks while others are intended for overnight use for a 1 to 2 weeks period. If you can obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he will be able to construct a custom mouth guard to fit your teeth precisely. Currently, the American Dental Association endorses only dentist-dispensed home-use percent carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.

Is this normal? Teeth whitening?
I've got white strips, and whitening gel, but when I'm done using it, my teeth are just a brighter yellow! Before, they were a dark yellow, but now they're light (bright!) yellow! I don't get it! I'm following all the directions, even leaving everything on for as long as they recommend for a smoker! I'm not a smoker! How long until my teeth are as white as the whites of my eyes, and this nice piece of printer paper I've got here???

Which is the best affordable Teeth Whitening products?
Hi everyone, i just wanted to ask, what are the best, most effective, and affordable teeth whitening products that can be purchased from a local pharmacy (not from any websites)? There are so many different kinds, i don't know which ones are good or not, which ones work or not, so yea i just wanted to ask for you opinion. P.S. I was thinking about trying the Listerine whitening pen because so far from what i have seen, it the cheapest teeth whitening product, have anyone tried it before? if so, how did it work out? Thanks
--------------------
in my opinion do try toothpaste or tooth whitening stuff from supermarkets or webstite as they wont help you , it all marketing strategy. the proven way is laser surgery. but the cheapest way is brushing rigoursly 2 or 3 times a day for 3 to 5mins.

would teeth whitening make my acne scars less noticable?
my confidence has went down considerably in the last couple of years due to having acne, and i have been on roaccutane for roughly 6-7 months. It has got better but i stil get a good few spots , i have been left with not pick scars but more like red marks i have been trying my hardest to fade them by using bio oil once a day for about 3 months and cocoa butter 2-3 times a day for roughly 6 months but not a great improvement as what i was expecting for the time period. So i was wondering if teeth whitening would help my appearance and make my scars less noticeable. reply asap help appreciated.
--------------------
teeth are the first thing people notice on someone. i had alotta acne scars so i use retinae and its REALLY good. it like takes offold layers of skin (he layer where the scars are) so it makes u peel, just so ya know lol. so whitening would make them less noticable. i still have some scars on my face but now that i got my braces off and my teeth bleached, no one notices my face as much, just my smile. it says alot about a person and about their hygene

what to look out for when buying teeth whitening toothpastes?
i just had my braces on few months ago, and already iam seeing my teeth going yellowish gradually. and my front tooth there's weird "white" patches amongst the yellowish areas, i tried brushing with normal and interdental brushes, but it doesn't seem to work. i saw toothpastes in the supermarkets, there are colgate whitening, pearlie white whitening and one called Theramed whitening. i bought the theramed, and i am using it regularly, but i don't see the whitening effect as well. What toothpastes or products would u guys recommend while i try to whiten or maintain the whiteness until i take off my braces.. =( And what should i look out for.
--------------------
Its very hard to properly clean teeth with braces, you should be dedicating at least 5-10 min a night to properly floss and claen around your braces, this will help with the spots the most. Whitening toothpaste actualy has a slight abrasive in the paste, its only good for surface stains, like coffee, tea, wine stains. If i were you I would clean my teeth very well twice a day and wait untill your braces are off and get your teeth profesionaly whitend by your dentist. The take home trays are about 200 dollars and they take about 2weeks and they work very well.

Should I pay hundreds for professional teeth whitening or do drugstore teeth whiteners work just as good?
I have nice teeth they are straight and they are white, naturally but I see the celebrities and they're teeth look so incredible...I'd like whiter teeth...should I get em professionally whitened, or should I just get a drugstore product? What works more? Also, how long does it last? Both ways...and I live in los angeles...can anyone help me with where I should go for great results if I should get profesional whitening, and if I should just buy a at home bleaching kit...which 1 is best? Please helpome bleaching kit, which 1?

Crest Whitening strips do work well but you need to repeat the treatment so much that the price would equal the amount to just get them professionally done. And i believe know one does a better job than the professionals. Ask your dentist if there is a good cosmetic dentist close by. I hope i helped! ~*abby*~

Are teeth whitening products from stores like Dentcare (UK) safe?
Hi, I have recently spoken to a dentist about teeth whitening and he recommended Carbamide Peroxide. He recommended I have a mould cast to my mouth professionally to ensure there's no leakage. After looking around on the internet and reading some reviews I came across a product sold by a company called DentStore (http://www.dentstore.co.uk/laser.html) containing 35% of the active agent and including what appears like all the necessary products to do the job well at home. My questions is, is this a safe product and would any dentists recommend this? Many thanks!
--------------------
Yes but these shops aren't in the UK despite being .co.uk. Whitener is banned and when I ordered it, it didn't get through customs and never arrived.

Is the extreme sensitivity caused by teeth whitening dangerous?
I've been whitening my teeth with Aquafresh Whitening strips, the only problem with them is they make my gums really sensitive, not so much that they cause problems during the day, but they really hurt when the strips are on and when i brush my teeth. Are my gums actually being harmed, or will I be safe if I just put up with it until it's done? I only have like 3 or 4 left till it's done. I don't want to keep whitening if something bad is actually happening to my gums/teeth, but I'm ok with the discomfort if it won't affect me adversely otherwise
--------------------
Like any bleaching system, care should be taken to make sure that the strips are not on your gum tissue, but just on your teeth. If this is what you are doing, then I seriously doubt the strips would pose any long term threat to your gums. Maybe it would be a good idea to let your gums heal from what you have already done, and then finish off your strips.

My doctor gave me a list of no-no's and teeth whitening was on them. The reason is that the gums are very absorbent and whiteners are a harsh chemical. Gums are so absorbent that you can put maple syrup on the gums of a diabetic who has passed out and the sugar will get into their blood stream and revive them. So those chemicals will do the same.
