I like my teeth i just hate the discoloration. A smile is a really important thing to me and I just hate smiling because of the way my teeth look. I had to get fillings in my front teeth so when i use whitening strips it doesnt effect the color of them and it looks wierd. Just wondering what exactly veneers are and if maybe getting teeth whitened by the dentist would be the option or considering most of my teeth have fillings if veneers would be?

okay, I am 12 yrs old. I just was recently in the hospital for about 5 months, and the 1st month I was in such critical condition that I never got a chance to brush my teeth. any tips on how to whiten them? they are yellow now and any easy tips on whitning them? Is whitening a teeth damageing teeth?
Is there some side effects of whitening (blanching) the teeth if I use some gel with such purpose. I've heard that kind of gel, actually reduces the fat in tooth and makes it more vulnerable. Also I've heard that enamel is suffering damage? Is it true, if it is, how much bed is it?

Could I get my teeth whitened after my braces come off?
I mean in the same appointment... Like, get my braces off and then directly go to whitening my teeth. My orthodontist is my regular dentist too so do you think he could do that? Also is it common to do so after removing braces?

Yeah, if you schedule it correctly. And yes, it is normal/common. I got my teeth whitened after getting my braces off. I had them on for three years and my brushing wasn't the best, so I had some minuscule white spots, but I still got them whitened. Just think about it, once you get your braces off, you'll have perfectly straight teeth, then, if you get them whitened, you'll have perfectly straight AND white teeth. It's a really confidence booster.

I got my teeth whitened a couple years ago - I still have the plastic thing that you put over your teeth (customized for my teeth at the dentist). But I can't remember what brand the whitening gel was. I'm pretty sure I can get it online for much cheaper but I can't remember the particular brand. It worked great. I tried to look online but there are so many different ones out there, I'm not sure if those ones work as good. If you've had experience with teeth whitening gel from the dentist, what is the brand? why do the crest whitening strips make your teeth sensitive?

Teeth Whitening and Front Teeth?
I have two questions to ask today. One is about teeth whitening. I have been noticing that my two front teeth are whiter than my two incisors beside them (I have braces by the way). They aren't considerably more "yellow" but I feel this might be noticeable when my braces come off. What would be the answer: brushing more than usual, teeth whitening after, or maybe the dentist/orthodontist could do something? Also, my two front teeth are very noticeably bigger than my other front teeth. My orthodontist said he was "bringing" them up, and I noticed they are a bit less big in comparison to my other front teeth. But they are still bigger. Will he eventually even them out? Thanks guys!

TEETH WHITENING help!!!!!! My Teeth Are Yellowy :(!?!?!?!?!?
My teeth are yellow ish and i've been told by my dentist that only a tiny bit of it is staining, the rest is due to my natural tooth colour (which sucks!!) she said i'm a good candidate for tooth whitening and is going to give me the at home kit next week. It will take 3 weeks apparently. My question is, if i'm not happy after the three weeks and want my teeth even whiter, will laser tooth whitening (more powerful) work AFTER ive had the at home tray whitening kit?? Or is there like a certain limit to what colour your teeth will go? My question is basically can you double whitening treatments up making your teeth double as white? ha thankkkksss xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sue's answer. *facepalm* Baking soda WITH a few drops of lemon juice works but here's other stuff i found Strawberries are loaded with Vitamin C which has bleaching elements. massaged it over the surface of your teeth. You can also use lemon peel to whiten your teeth; just massaged it over the surface of your teeth and rinse thoroughly. Just make sure you rinse the lemon and strawberry off. Acid and sugar can ruin your teeth if left on for too long. (shocking, i know)

My teeth are yellow. And I want them to be white. I also want to use something that works. Not something I have to use ever few months or anything. Just something I use once. I've tried whitening toothpaste and mouthwash, but It just doesn't seem to do the trick. HELP!

These are normally done in porcelain, and are facings that are cemented over the fronts of your teeth. These can be done on the front teeth, but in the back teeth you would need crowns because veneers don't hold up in back (due to chewing forces). The porcelain can be made pretty much as white as you want, and doesn't change color over time. The drawback is it is going to cost in the neighborhood if $1000 per tooth, so if you have 28 or however many teeth, you can do the math. Pretty much any type of whitening system you use will eventually fade over time and will need some touch up from time to time, but that is really not that big of a deal. If you have bleach trays made, you can normally just sleep in them and take them out in the morning. Do that a few nights and you should be back to being white!

That said, in-office bleaching is a rip off. I can assure you of this because I preformed them for 3 years. Your paying the big bucks for the CONVENIENCE! You'll still have sensitivity the same as a home kit. A good cleaning and a box of Crest white strips will give you the same results, it just takes longer. Zoom is not the way to go either.
