I have done the tooth whitening before and it was so painful. I need to do that again , but is there anyplace I can do that without pain in NYC?
--------------------
Laser is done by a dentist who applies a 35% Hydrogen Peroxide solution on your teeth. Once this solution is on, a light is held a couple of inches away from your teeth to speed up the chemical reaction of the Hydrogen Peroxide. Many dentist advertise that this works better than tray type whitening. That has not been our experience. There is NO clinical data to indicate the laser whitening works any better than tray whitening. NONE! This procedure costs $500 plus. The problem with this procedure is that after a year of your normal eating habits (drinking coke, tea, coffee, etc.) your teeth become slightly discolored again and develops a new stain. With the laser whitening, you will have to go and pay $500 plus to have white teeth again. With the custom mouthpieces, you already have the custom mouthpieces that you can wear a year later for a night to take off the new stain at no cost. There is usually some pain after teeth bleaching. You might try "deep bleaching". It is less painful I left a link below for dentist who perform the service

what are some simple teeth whitening formulas?
i want to make my own teeth whitening formula at home. list some ingredients that are simple, somewhat common, and somewhat effective.
--------------------
He's certainly right about the lemons. Keep away! Not only will they make your teeth cavity prone, the whiteness they will cause will be patchy and ugly. Just a note: Abrasive whitening formulations can only remove surface stains (due to food, tea, wine, smoking etc...). The dentine beneath your enamel is yellow and cannot be removed with any amount of abrasive whitening. Too much abrasive will in fact make your teeth appear yellower as you wear down the enamel and more dentine is visible. The only way to whiten internally is with a chemical whitener such as hydrogen peroxide. I do not recommend trying to formulate your own unless you are not too fussed on life. Listerene now make a whitening mouthwash which contains hydrogen peroxide.

What at home teeth whitening system claims it's "the cool way to whiten teeth"?
What at home teeth whitening system claims it's "the cool way to whiten teeth"? I saw someone with it but didn't catch the brand... I WANT TO BE COOL LOL
--------------------
Teeth whitening is commonly accomplished by applying a bleaching agent to the teeth. The longer the bleaching agent is applied the better it works. Or at least this is how every teeth whitening system is marketed. The problem is that you really need to use a system that mimics what you would get at a Dentists office but in a more affordable at home do it yourself kit. You see whitening toothpastes only contain minimal whitening agents and so for the few minutes alone in brushing your teeth it would take an extremely long time to produce any noticeable change. Whitening "strips" while more effective then toothpaste again only contain mild oxidization activators within the "strip" so here again the results tend to take longer and not as long lasting. You really need to find a system that is similar to the ones that dentists use, but in a more affordable solution. These tend to work much more effectively and doesn't cost you hundreds of dollars like a trip to the dentist would. While there are many great brands out there that follow this "dentists system" for a great home teeth whitening kit check out

Is this normal for at-home teeth whitening trays?
After just one 45-minute session with the at-home Aqua-fresh trays for sensitive teeth, I have three or four bright white blothes on my front teeth. Not big, but not unnoticeable, you know? My teeth have always been slightlyyellow, but that was better than being spotty. Will this go away if I stop using the whitening trays, does anyone know?

what is the best option for teeth whitening and how long does it last for?
I am getting braces in about 1 month and I want to whiten my teeth possibly after my braces are taking off, What is the best way to whiten and how long does it last? I have a few teeth which are yellowly creamish which really annoys me.
--------------------
I work in a dental office and also whiten my teeth. The trays and gel (Opalescence or Sapphire) get the BEST results. you just use it 15-30 mins twice a day for a week - 10 days, it works great. I use to have more yellowish teeth and now I get complements on how white my teeth are all the time. The best thing is I did it about 10 years ago and I only need to touch up whiten about one day every 3-4 months. Good luck

Teeth Whitener and Teeth Whitening Kits do they Work?
My upper teeth have went a little yellow and I was wondering if any of these teeth whitener kits work? I have seen the ones with the lights and it just looks to crazy, how can a blue light make your teeth whiter? Also can anyone recommend a good teeth whitening kit?
--------------------
Teeth whitening kits are the more expensive of at-home whitening products, but they are among the most effective. The kit offers a combination of products that are used together to whiten your teeth in the best way possible. The kit usually consists of the teeth whitening gel which is applied by using the trays, and a follow up treatment built into a toothpaste or rinse to be used after the trays. The follow-up treatment allows for the whitening agent to stay against the teeth for an extended amount of time. These kits are best used as part of your nightly beauty routine as you want to avoid food and drink after the treatments as these can disrupt the whitening process. When you are looking for a great whitening system to use at home, you should take the time to consider and study the teeth whitening kits available. They offer the best level of at-home treatment and are still cost-effective compared to a professional treatment which can take precious time out of your day. Good oral health is important and teeth whitening could easily be considered part of that plan and treatment method. When your teeth are whiter, your whole face lights up and that is truly a beautiful thing.

Why are my teeth so sensitive to professional teeth whitening?
I spent a lot of money on the trays and solution from my dentist to whiten my teeth. I am not using to much solution if anything Im using to little. I had some sensitivity after one night so I have been doing every other. The third time was last night and my teeth hurt so much today I cant stand it. Not sure what to do my dentist is on vacation.
--------------------
I'm not too sure what can help you other than use specialised sensitive teeth toothpaste. But generally when your teeth are proffesionally whitened the enamel is scraped off making it thinner therefore making your teeth more sensitive.

How much does teeth whitening cost?

There are a few different options for whitening. ZOOM! is done in a one hour treatment which costs about about $300 and is not covered by insurance. You will need a comprehensive exam first to see if you are a candidate. Some people have a gray hue to their teeth, which will exclude them from doing ZOOM!. When a person is not a candidate ( which is rare ) we recommend bleaching trays which cost about 200 dollars. That is a great option, the bleach is very effective and causes minimal sensitivity. Call your DDS and let the receptionist no what you are interested in and she schedule you for a consult with the Dr. Good luck! I have never seen a patient who has weakened teeth due to bleaching. I myself, bleach my teeth and do not have weakening of teeth.

Will a teeth whitening kit damage bonding on front teeth?
I'm getting my two front teeth bonded in two weeks, but I whiten my teeth every few weeks and want to keep them white after the bonding. I know that the whitening bleach doesn't stick to bonding so I'm going to whiten before I get it done. But When I need to redo my teeth is it is ok to put the bleach on the bonding or can it be damaged. I want to keep my white teeth but I don't want my front teeth to be a different shade than my others. Help!
--------------------
The dentist will match the color to the existing shade of your teeth. You can still bleach after this is done, but the bleach wont work on the bonding so if the bonded teeth have any color change due to food and drinks, they will stay that color.

I want to look into getting my teeth whitened, but don't know where to start. What should I look for as far as which method gives the best results, cost etc.... Any advice would be appreciated.

The best results are achieved at the dentist. Bleaching trays with home bleaching gives the best and longest lasting result. The dentist makes the trays for you and gives you the bleaching gel.

Can you use teeth whitening strips with a retainer?
I'm getting my braces off soon, and I wanted to get some whitening strips to bring my teeth up a few shades. However, I was curious about whether or not I can use these when I have to wear a retainer. I don't want any odd stripes of white! Thank you!
--------------------
I did the same thing when I got my braces off. Yes you can use them while you have a retainer, just as long as you're not using both of them at the same time. I think you have to wear the retainer almost all the time for a few weeks and then you wear it less and less. Use the whitestrips in a time when you don't have to wear it, possibly after you eat and brush your teeth but before bed.

What do they mean by APPLICATIONS in Teeth Whitening Gel?
I am ordering 10ml of Teeth Whitening Gel, and it says "Up to 40 Applications". Does that mean I can use it up to 40 times? or each application = one tooth? Not sure what they mean by that.

Hey, Up to 40 applications means that you can only apply the formula on your teeth up to 40 times, then all the formula should be used up. Hope this helps!

how long does it take for teeth whitening toothpaste to show results?
i have Rembrandt (i think that's the name) intense stain tooth paste, i use that every night then regular crest in the morning/after meals, how long does it take to show noticeable results. also, which teeth whitening toothpaste is the best? is it okay to use two different kinds at the same time (say arm and hammer toothpaste and rembrandt)
--------------------
well, the GOOD news is, you can you like EIGHT different kinds of toothpastes, w/ no harm... however, sadly, NO toothpaste, no matter what they say will truly whiten your teeth; at least not enough to dramatically notice! they remove a little surface stain, but not much more than when the hygienist polishes your teeth at your cleaning appointment. anyway, the best way to get teeth whiter is (honestly) Crest whitestrips or similar product from a reputable company. they're only about $30 and they work fairly well! if that doesn't do it for you, you can have it "professionally" done at a dental office, but this can cost $200, 400, even 600 dollars. if you do have it done at an office, the take home trays are less expensive but just as good as the "laser" whitening (ZOOM! and similar products....) I went to a class last year where the guy who basically inVENTed the whitening tray process that my office and others use came out and said, "Look, the best bang for the buck is over the counter like Whitestrips." there are advantages (and maybe more dramatic results?) from in-office whitening, but try the strips first!

What Teeth Whitening Strips Do You Reccomend?
I really want to whiten my teeth at home. What brands do you reccomend? What are the pros and cons?
--------------------
I use Crest Whitening Strips and have for years and I am always satisfied. I also use Crest Vivid White tooth paste after I finish the whitening process to boost the color and to even everything out. I use this about twice a year, usually after I get my teeth cleaned by the dentist. I also suggest you invest in an electric tooth brush, this will help naturally whiten your teeth and keep them white. The cons to this is you do experience some teeth sensitivity. I use Fluoride tooth paste from the dentist to help with this. You can also get lines and and spots on your teeth, this is why I use Vivid White tooth paste to even everything out. The pros are you get whiter teeth with in a few days and everyone notices! Completely worth all the work! Good Luck!~
