What are some good ways to whiten teeth?
I have braces and i was jw if there are any tricks to help whiten.

While you are wearing braces you DO NOT want to whiten your teeth. If you were to whiten your teeth now the whitener will only whiten the enamel that is showing now and will not whiten the enamel that is under your braces. When you have your braces removed you will have all of these yellow squares on your teeth that were not whitened because of the braces covering that area up. If you try to whiten the yellow squares that are left on your teeth from the braces you will also whiten the area that wasn't covered thus the area that wasn't covered will end up being whiter then the area that was covered by your braces. Wait until the braces are removed then whiten your teeth. This way you will not have a problem whitening your teeth and having them be the same whiteness/color.

I use the Crest Strips Supreme - they are stronger than the normal ones and have to be on for a little longer but you start to see the difference right away. My mom, my aunt and I have all used it and it never fails.

How do I whiten teeth with my braces on?
Okay, so I had an orthodontic appointment a week ago and my orthodontist said my oral hygiene isn't looking too good right now. He said that it looks like my teeth are going to have little white squares on them if my dental habits continue, so what should I do? I know that I can't like go have them professionally cleaned or anything, so I just need some easy conventional tips.

you just need to keep them clean by brushing. After you have the braces off, you get bleaching done...problem solved. Just make sure you brush/floss them now...or it will be a disaster when you get them off

I have a check-up at the dentist on the 13th. I want to have white teeth and healthy gums. I use toms toothpaste 3 times a day. And I also use Act restoring mouthwash 2 times a day. I can't afford any of the whiten products at the store.

My dad is dentist ive asked him about whitening teeth before. All products such as toothpastes, mouthwashes, and baking soda solutions that claim to whiten teeth do not work. The problem is that the solution will not be on your teeth long enough to have any affect. Unfortunately, he says the only ways are the strips or by the dentist. The strips are expensive, about 40 bucks a box last time i saw them in walgreens. Going to the dentist is definately the best way. You can get them bleached which only takes a little while, or you can have trays made. My dad made me the trays because it is not as hard on your teeth. You simply have to get an impression made of your teeth. A dentist can then make trays and will give you solution. You put in the trays with the gel solution for about an hour every day. I did this for two months and my teeth got so much whiter. Unfortunately, these might be your only options. I know you dont want to get the strips or go to a professional, but i would really recommend it if you could. I can personally say that the trays are really effective and easy. Also, if you go to a dentist, they will give you all the information so it is as safe as possible. They will tell you exactly how long you can use the trays, what foods to avoid, and what to look out for to make sure your teeth and gums do not get hurt. Hopefully this helped. What is the best procedure to whiten teeth?
So I finally quit smoking, been 2 weeks today. But my teeth have taken some damage from smoking all those years. Ive tried the reg crest white strips and they didnt work. I was looking into the White strips prfoessional you get at dental offices. I would just do it it the ol fashion way but dont have the extra 400 to spend. Any tips?

Use a whitening toothpaste on a daily basis like crest and try the crest white strips they really work but be careful your teeth will hurt in the beginning. If you drink coffee, tea, wine or soda that can stain your teeth so make sure once u whiten your teeth to stay away from those things. If you smoke that definitley stains your teeth. My advice as a dental hygienist try the strips first and if your not happy with the results u can even try the whitening trays from your dentist or zoom which is an hour procedure.

Its about $250 but you could just call your loacl dentist and ask for a quote but there is many differnet treatments out there now you can get a home kit and do it your self which is allot cheaper... good luck :)

Brush with baking soda, swish and rinse with full strength peroxide. Be very careful not to swallow any of the peroxide. Keep spitting the peroxide out until your mouth is as empty of the peroxide as it can be, scraping your tongue with your teeth each time before spitting. Then dry your tongue and outside of your mouth with a clean dry towel and leave your teeth at that until time for the next brushing, then repeat this procedure. I think you should start to see a big improvement in the brightness of your teeth within the first couple of days.
