Are all tooth whitening kits as effective? Do they all put the same ingredients in the product?
At the discount store they have tooth whitening kits with the gel and mouthpiece for a dollar, and then at the more higher end stores they have them there but for about 30 - 70 $ per kit, the ingredients are the same , I think ?

Carbamide peroxide works with the saliva in your mouth to become hydrogen peroxide at a lower concentration – it takes about 2.76% carbamide peroxide to equal 1% hydrogen peroxide. That means a 10% carbamide peroxide gel is really about 3.6% hydrogen peroxide. Look at the concentration when you're comparing. Another thing to look at is quality. Be careful the discount stuff you're talking about isn't expired and that it comes from a reputable company. Peroxide does degrade over time and won't be as effective. Also, there are a lot of scam companies capitalizing on tooth whitening. Make sure it's from a company that is accountable for their product and has a real address and phone number to contact if there are problems. Worse case is the discount stuff from a scam company is contaminated or isn't effective at all. You would be on your own if things went terribly wrong. You are, after all, putting a bleaching agent in your mouth and it can come into contact with the membrane. So be careful when choosing.

Teeth Whitening? readd.?
I know everyone always asks the same question ," What's the best way to whiten your teeth." but I'm telling you in advance I have stains from when I was baby and how I got amazingly high temperatures which left my teeth with marks and I'm wondering if anyone knows what to do exactly for those to make them more camouflage so they don't stick out as much and my other teeth can match that perfectly white color. That's a tough one. have you asked your dentist about a take home whitening kit? it is stronger than the drug store stuff. it may not make your teeth a uniform colour, or match the perfectly white colour but it could help camouflage or blend the shades together better.

Which Whitening Mouthwash Works Best: Listerine or Crest?
I was wondering which one actually whitens teeth? Please don't mention the strips I hear they work every time and with wonder but sadly I am a piss poor college student and can't afford them.

It definitely should whiten your teeth. I even had someone notice my teeth being whiter after chewing some teeth-whitening gum once, e.g., Orbit White. If you are using high-powered stuff from your dentist, you should start seeing results in just a few days. At least that was my experience.

Why do my teeth hurt so bad after using Aquafresh whitening trays?!?
Omg I cannot stand this pain! I just used aquafresh whitening trays on my teeth (about 4 hours ago) and now my teeth hurt so bad it's making me cry. And I just had a baby 7 weeks ago so I can handle some pain. I am absolutely not going to continue using these but I was just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences to this and how long did the pain last? I just want it to go away!! Is there any pain meds that can stop the pain? I have already been rinsing with fluoride mouthrinse, but it's not really helping. This pain isn't going to last forever is it?? Pleease help :(

What are the Best Whitening Strips to use?
I have sensitive teeth and they're yellow and I want to use whitening strips on them. I've heard that using whitening strips makes your teeth hurt and very sensitive. The best thing that I found which works is to brush your teeth after every meal. I had to do this when I got my tongue pierced. After two weeks my teeth were incredibly white, but you have to maintain it. Nothing is going to work instantly unless you went to the dentist and got a whitening treatment there.

I got laser which was expensive $1500. Buy the whitening strips... they work so well you can get a pack for $30. Or you can get your dentist to make a mould of your teeth about $250 and buy some special stuff to put in the moulds to whiten.... this has the same effect as laser... it just takes a bit longer....

Is this at-home teeth whitening remedy safe?
I went on the internet searching for how to get white teeth without buying expensive whitening kits, etc.. with items you have around home. It said, that you mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with 2 to 3 teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide and brush your teeth with it. it said you can mix in some normal toothpaste to make it taste better. once you are done brushing with that youre supposed to brush with regular paste to get the taste away and so you get rid of the peroxide. Is this safe? Has anyone tried it, does it work? And, is hydrogen peroxide the peroxide stuff that you put on cuts and such and they turn white and foam ?? :S

Anyone know of any good teeth-whitening products?
So I'm thinking about whitening my teeth but I don't want to do it the dentist way. I'm thinking more of the lines of products like 'Crest White Strips' or 'Pearl Drops' etc. It has to be pretty easy to get hold of in the UK, preferably from a drugstore/internet. Could I use this, instead of teeth whitening strips?
Well, I've looked at several brands of teeth whitening strips, and the ingredients are amazingly simple. In fact, the only active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, which you can get at the drug store fairly cheap. So, I was wondering, is there any reason why I can't just swish with hydrogen peroxide to whiten my teeth? If that's, for whatever reason, not a good idea, would it be okay if I made a weak solution of hydrogen peroxide and water? All I'm really wondering is if this would be corrosive or otherwise damaging to my teeth. I have no doubts that it would be effective.

Over the counter hydrogen peroxide is not strong enough to whiten teeth. That is why it will not work. The hydrogen peroxide and other variants of it found in teeth bleaching products are much stronger. Hydrogen peroxide will not damage your teeth and will not whiten them either.
