Just wondering if the extra money is worth it. thanks!

i agree with the other answerer. i tried the crest night effects nighttime whitening expression when it first came out (idk if they even still make it)...i didn't think that it worked at all (it seemed like my saliva washed it away and it didn't really stay on). a few months ago i got custom bleaching trays and gel from my dentist - it worked amazingly well! depending on where you live it doesn't cost that much (i got the trays and 4 syringes of the gel for $50). i (and others) noticed that my teeth were whiter after 1-2 nights. as for the pro. appointments (like ZOOM whitening) i think they work really well too. i, personally haven't tried it but have known some people that have. it does cost a little more and is really quick (after your 15ish minute appointment you can tell) honestly i would go with the bleaching trays from ur dentist. yes, it takes a little more time than the ZOOM whitening but i think the results are just as good (and if you have really stained teeth, you do this after ZOOM whitening any way to help maintain it) hope this helps! =)

What do you know about Maximum Teeth Whitening?
is it effective in getting teeth whiter? if someone has experience this can you tell the effects and results? thanks for you time.

Hello, Strawberries or hydrogen perioxide can be used for whitening teeth. Try brushing 3 times a day. You can use a whitening mouthwash - Listernine makes a great one. Drinks lot of milk. That's the natural way to get your teeth nice and white. For more details, please visit our website.

Do fake teeth whiten like normal teeth with whitening stripes?
i have a front fake tooth and just started using tooth whitening and all my other teeth are whiter except for the fake tooth. Any suggestions of getting it whiter

Unfortunately any whitening you have done will only change the shade of your real teeth, not any crowns, bridges or white fillings. The only way would be to have the crown remade.

what's the best teeth whitening product out in the market besides going to the dentist?
I heard the crest whitening strips work pretty good along with the crest whitening toothpaste and mouthwash. Any other good ones? and for how long do u use them/ thanks!!!
--------------------
The Crest strips worked really well for me. I used the Crest Whitestrips Classic system (14 days, 30 minutes per day), and the results lasted me for a good 6 months or so before residual stains from everyday eating lessened the whitened effect. Use a good multi-care whitening toothpaste (the Crest one to pair up with their Whitestrips would probably be most effective/efficient), and you're good to go! The Aquafresh tray system was pretty decent too, but I didn't like how the trays felt compared to the super thin Whitestrips.

Do "natural" teeth whitening techniques actually work?
Okay so basically i know i'm going to give in to Chest White Strips eventually, but i wanna try the natural ways of whitening teeth. Waste of time, or do they kinda work? Here are some of the remedies i've heard: - back of orange peels to give em nice luster/shine - bakin soda - strawberries (crush em and make a paste then apply to teeth and leave it on for about 5 min. Then wash away.) - eating celary - since most commercial whitening things are made from hydrogen peroxide you could buy some at a store. Then put it onto a q-tip and apply. But make sure not to get it onto gums, they will become VERY sensative. Then wash it all off. & make sure not to swalow. Do any of these work?! And if so how long does it take for the results to show, cuz i'm kinda of an impatient person =)
--------------------
I, personally have tried crest white strips. They really do work! After only about 30 minutes my teeth are 4-5 shades whiter!!

What is the most effective teeth whitening product out there?
I plan to get an official treatment this fall, but wanted to try something at home first. Something I can buy at the drugstore to try out first would be great.
--------------------
I can say that most of my patient's have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips, some more than others. Our office uses the Supreme which are 4 times stronger than what you can get in the store, but the others will work as well but take more time and possibly more than one kit. I am also hearing that patients like the Aquafresh whitening trays ( http://www.aquafresh.com/whitetrays/.... ). The results are usually pretty quick, noticeable in the first few days, best in a week or longer. If you can, do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar, plaque, or orthodontic cement) will impede their ability to work. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. If you get sensitive use the product every other day in conjunction with a sensitive tooth toothpaste. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don't smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. Whatever method you use it will not whiten your teeth for life, as you age your teeth will get darker and may need to be whitened again. Good luck! JAMRDH - a dental hygienist

Do braces hurt? And how does the teeth-whitening operation work?
My mom wants me to get braces. I really don't need them, but my mom's a perfectionist. Anyway, I heard that they really hurt. If they do, is there any way to lessen the pain? And after my braces my mom wants to put me through the teeth-whitening operation. How does that work and does that hurt too?
--------------------
Braces do not hurt, the only time they will hurt which you can cope with is when they get tightened but not all the time, i have braces on my top teeth and no one can tell they are even there, i was scared when i was first going to have them done and i didnt want them, but you will benefit from them, your teeth will be all nice and straight :) Teeth whitening Background Teeth whitening is a process that removes stains from teeth and makes them a whiter, brighter color. Stains accumulate both on the surface and inside the tooth. This discoloration can be caused by time and particular food and drinks like soda and coffee. There are many over the counter whitening kits that are simple to use, but others who want a more aggressive treatment go to a dentist's office to find it. The Science The whitening technique is often performed using some sort of bleaching gel. This gel is made up of either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, the more stable version. When the gel is applied to a person's teeth, the peroxide breaks down into oxygen molecules that work effectively to go inside the teeth and break down stains that sit inside the pores of tooth enamel. Tooth stains actually cause less light to shine through teeth, making them look dull. When the stains break apart, they create less of a blockage for the light. The result is that more light is able to shine through the teeth and they look whiter. Procedures in the Dentist's Office Bleaching gel works best for stains that are yellow, or a mild brown color. These are usually caused by food, tobacco or coffee. Sometimes teeth will get dark brown or blue-gray stains that are the result of taking certain medications during tooth development, and these are harder to get rid of. The latter procedure can take six months of bleaching to achieve desired results. When teeth whitening is performed in the dentist's office, the dentist will cover the rest of the mouth aside from the teeth, put on the peroxide gel and use a laser or light that forces the peroxide to become oxygen molecules and attack the stains. The usual time for one visit is 1 to 2 hours. At Home Procedures Whitening at home can be supervised by a dentist too. The dentist makes a mouthpiece to fit both top and bottom teeth of each patient. Patients will then squirt some of the peroxide gel into these mouthpiece molds and keep them in the mouth for a certain amount of time. Because this peroxide gel is taken home, it's not as strong as the kind in the dental office. This process can take up to three weeks for results. Over the counter tooth whitening kits are also available for those looking for a cheaper alternative. The kits work very similarly to the dental procedures, using a peroxide gel, and come in a generic tray or whitening strips that the consumer attaches to his teeth. Most of these over the counter methods are applied once or twice for 7 to 10 days. Does teeth whitening hurt? The teeth whitening procedure is not painful; however, some patients may experience minor sensitivity around the gum line after the procedure has taken place. Patients who prefer the take home teeth bleaching kits may request that their dentist provide them with a milder concentration of the peroxide-based gel used. hope i helped xx

is it possible to be addicted to teeth whitening products?
I seem to have this obsession with whitening products... Is it possible that I am addicted to whitening products. Is there anything I can do to stop this madness. LOL
--------------------
It's possible to be physiologically addicted to just about anything. Jogging, sun tanning and video games are only the tip of the iceberg. I'd try and get help, while in moderation tooth whitening products do no harm but if used too often you're in danger of eroding the enamel from your teeth.

can you whiten your natural teeth without whitening your veneers?
i have 4 veneers in front of my top row of teeth, i whitened them with whitening trays fitted to my teeth and now they have faded so my veneers look much whiter then my natural teeth. how can i just whiten the natural ones without causing any damage to the veneers?
--------------------
Veneers shouldn't be affected by whitening, but check with your dentist. There are many teeth whitening methods ranging from the products for at-home use, such as toothpaste, strips, and even gel trays, to in-office treatments applied by dentists. They differ greatly in price, and also in effectiveness. In making a decision you should also consider the level of discoloration of your teeth. Care must be exercised to prevent damage to the teeth enamel. You can compare the different systems before making a decision here: http://the-dental-makeover.com/whiten-te

What is the best whitening treatment for teeth?
I have just recently gotten my braces off and I have been looking into whitening my teeth. I don't want to spend a lot of money to get it professionally done, so I want something that I can go to a grocery store, target, etc. to purchase that actually works. Thanks!(:

Most of the stuff you buy at stores can cause sensitivity. At least it did for me. I went looking online for teeth whitening products and found one called Movie Star Look and I love it. You can try it for free here: http://32whiteteeth.com/Free-Whitening-K Its worked really well and does not make my teeth hurt like some of those other ones in the store. Which teeth whitening product is the most effective, safest and still affordable?
I appreciate any recommendations if you have used any and have found it effective.
--------------------
Honey, you have gotten two spam/advertisement responses so far. Let me see if I can give you some real information. First of all, the "most effective" is not the least expensive. That's the sad truth here. So, what I suggest is that you try the inexpensive treatments first and see if they work for you. If they do, then you don't have to worry about the high-priced stuff. The cheapest whitening product around is plain old baking soda. Arm and Hammer or any store brand will do. Put a little in a dish, add a couple of drops of water, and mix it into a paste, then brush normally. This will whiten your teeth, but don't expect it to work over night. It takes several weeks before you will notice any results. You can make the baking soda treatment a bit more effective by getting some hydrogen peroxide at the drug store and using a few drops of that in place of the water. The next level up from the home-made versions is to use the whitening strips and toothpastes that are sold in drug and grocery stores. Most people find that Crest White Strips are the best of these. Try them if baking soda and peroxide don't work. And look for sales. Where I live, they seem to go on sale about once a month or once every two months. Since the Crest strips aren't cheap, it makes sense to wait for a sale if you can. But if you really want the most effective treatment, you will have to go to a dentist. They have products there that can whiten much faster and do much more. They are quite expensive, unfortunately. But if you want the most whitening possible, that may be the way you have to go. Try the other things first. I hope this helps, and I wish you good luck!!

I have seen the prices of going in and getting it done. Some places are just extortionate. I understand it can be done at home...has anyone done so and could you kindly advise on a good product?

Crest White Strips are good. I would however use the 14 day ones... the longer it takes to bleach teeth the better the results... as well it lasts longer. Laser treatments are expensive but are fast results. However, it does not last as long.

Teeth Whitening Gel: Why did it all of a sudden feel like it was Burning my tooth?
I am currently whitening my teeth i have the tray in my mouth with the gell It has been in about ten minutes and i just felt this pain in one of my teeth like it was on fire, or cold fire. im not sure it burned why did it do this?
--------------------
This happens to me too. It's cause your teeth are sensitive and the gel is designed to dissolve the stain out of your teeth. While this happens sometimes it hits the nerve. It's normal but annoying.

--------------------
It's not really critical. Whitestrips need to be repeated every few years anyway. When your braces come off your orthodontist or dentist should be sure to remove any resin remaining from your bonded brackets--that resin won't bleach. Make sure that your oral hygiene is especially good when you use the white strips--make sure any residual inflammation from the braces is resolved. Be careful to keep the strips off your gums--they can be irritating. Steve Bornfeld, DDS

Do the whitening strips really help make your teeth white?
The reason why I ask is because I used to smoke on and off for 10 years of my life. My teeth aren't that bad looking, but you can see some yellow on them. I quit smoking recently and I'd like to whiten my teeth. Do those whitening strips really work?

What are some really good and effective teeth whitening methods?
Besides going to the dentist and getting them whitened obviously... I've heard using strawberries and other things, what are some others?
--------------------
For the past three months or so, in addition to brushing with my regular (non-whitening) toothpaste twice a day, I've brushed with a little paste I made to whiten my teeth. I mix a little baking soda, a quarter of a strawberry (mashed up), and a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. I get complimented on how white my teeth are.. and I'm a smoker! lol Maybe you could try it for a few days and see if it makes a difference for you. Hope this helped.
