Um. Yeah I just started brushing my teeth with baking soda - all ready they feel whiter LOL. I brushed my teeth for 2-3 minutes approx. Now, my teeth aren't THAT sensitive, neither are my gums. But they happen to be OCCASIONALLY. How long should I brush my teeth with baking soda for until they turn white completely? Because all websites are different. Some say once a week, some say once every 2 weeks, some even say 3 times a year, which seems a bit too long. >< And a few say everyday. But I'm guessing all those suggestions depend on the kind of teeth I have. And I just told you XD they're not really sensitive that much. I just want to get the yellowish.. food coloring stains off with baking soda really. How often should I do this for? (:

whitening toothpaste causing sensitivity only on bottom teeth?
I'm using Crest 3D toothpaste (have been for 3-4 days) and only on my bottom teeth am I experiencing some tingling now. Do I just stop use all together or is there something I can do to stop the bottom teeth from being sensitive?

Make a paste with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and brush with it by it self. You might want to brush with regular toothpaste after to get the taste out of your mouth though. Good Luck

Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. If you get sensitive use the product every other day in conjunction with a sensitive tooth toothpaste. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don't smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. I was inspired by my 9 year old who was playing football on the local little league team. You can buy the mouth guards that little league football players use. You can buy them at walmart for a few dollars. Get two, one for top and one for bottom. If you submerge them in boiling water for a few seconds and then put one in and bite down it will leave an exact impression of your teeth. Do this for top and bottom and them trim away some of the excess so that they fit comfortably in your mouth. They only cost about 2 bucks each. Then call local dentists and ask if they sell Zoom gel or other brands of the whitening gels. Most do and they range from $20-$50, depending on the strength of the gel. They will make your teeth gleaming white in about a week. I alternate top one day, bottom next for about a week for about 3 hours at a time. Once your teeth are nice and white, they'll stay that way for a while, depending on how much tea, coffee, soda, etc you drink. Use the gel and trays for touchup when you need it.

Hydrogen peroxide, like the kind you use for disinfectant, swished through your teeth. If you can't stand the taste and the "bubbling", cut it 3-1 with water. Cutting it will however slow down the whitening process. Spit out the excess fluid when you are done swishing, and no more then twice daily.

not a good idea. because i'm guessing depending on the amount of time you've had your braces on for you don't really remember the shade of your teeth underneath the brackets and what not. and you don't want yellow dots in the middle of your teeth when your braces are removed. so just hang in there till those suckers come off because you'll be so much happier with the way your teeth whiten after they are removed.

Also floss everyday, brush with a whitening toothpaste and use mouthrinse. That is what I do and I get comments all the time on how white my teeth are....of course I tell them I'm doing nothing specail just brushing...lol

Okay, so I bought "Natural White 5 Minute Whitening" today and I wanted to whiten my teeth before prom which is a week away. The problem is ... I am a smoker so it is hard to keep mine white but after I used them they were pearly white for a good 2-3 months. So if you dont smoke they would definatley be whiter for longer.
