I wonder sometimes if it really does. I`ve tried whitening toothpastes & the results come out like how my teeth were already. Well, anyways I ask this question because it`s for my Science Fair project. And because I can`t find any information about my question on the internet :P soo, does anybody know the answer to this? There IS one ingredient in a few of the whitening toothpastes that really does help. Check all of the ingredients to see if it contains "calcium peroxide". If it does, it should do a decent job of brightening. Mind you, it won't look like a dentist has bleached your teeth, but should be a bit better than before. Also, I have found that using a good electronic toothbrush (such as Oral-B Triumph) helps keep your teeth brighter and your gums healthy.

none actually that i had tried. I ended up whitening my teeth at the dentist. I had this friend who actually approach the dentist and had a mouding of her teeth made. Then the dentist sold her this special serum that is applied onto the plastic teeth moulds and she would just wear them to sleep. After just one try, her teeth were as white as ever!! I tried looking for it at the stores, but i couldnt find it. I guess its only sold at those dental centers. It wouldnt hurt to ask what exactly is that serum.

I used the meijer brand, which are cheaper than the crest ones. they worked well for a while, but then my teeth just went back to how they were before. I would suggest trying the crest ones.

How should I go about whitening my teeth?

Word of advice, when you use any tooth whitener, make sure to stay away from coffee, tea, soda pop...anything that has dye or added color. Your teeth become a little porous while whitening. They will also be sensitive for a little while. If you can't stay away from the coffee or pop, drink it with a straw or rub some Vaseline on your teeth to prevent new stains.

I know that brushing your teeth with the whitening toothpaste can give you tooth/teeth sensitivity but if you?
brush with peroxide and baking soda will it do the same thing?? Honestly, all those home remedies work on a very limited scale and even tooth paste provides little results, not to mention that to see a shade or two fade away takes ages. If you like to look like a movie star, I would spend a little money. Some products even offer a free trial so try 'em out.

Salam Sister!! I love the Crest Whitening Strips. I only used them once, but I noticed a remarkable difference---they are easy to use too! I wouldn't recommend using them all the time, though because they can weaken your tooth's enamel :( One box should make a huge difference though!!

Are teeth whitening products bad for oral piercings?
I have a ball closure ring on my lip and I am thinking of using crest whitestrips but I wanted to know if there is something in the strips that could hurt the piercing or is it okay to use them

If it was me, I would not do it unless I was sure I could adequately rinse all the way through the pierced area and I would gently rinse it through following each application. Sounds a little risky to me.
