Almost all the whitening products work, but you have to read the fine print. Trident White chewing gum, for example, whitens teeth but you have to chew 2 pieces like 3 times a day for at least 1/2 - 1 month to see the difference of 1 shade. There's plenty of whitening products that work fairly quick, the Crest White Strips line has like 2 products that work in 14 days. 1 very good suggestion is that you use a toothpaste sensitive teeth like Sensodyne, because your teeth WILL be intolerable and combine it with an enamel strenghtnening toothpaste. Be warned though, certain products that use trays or strips work only on your front teeth up to your canines. So if you have a big smile or something, you will probably need to check other options out.

Dentists use retracters so you might be able to ask yours for one or source it from a dental supplier. They are all uncomfortable so dont base your decision on that. You should just use trays that way your mouth doesnt need to be open.

Getting my teeth whitened at a dental clinic in Nogales, Mexico?
I'm heading to southern AZ in a couple week and would like to get my teeth professionally whitened at a dental clinic in Nogales (cost is prohibitive where I live). Anybody able to suggest a place?

Can't suggest a place, but just to warn you - afterwards I had toothache in pretty much every tooth in my mouth for about a day. Seriously, then they gave me another 3 supplements to do myself after... ouch! So yeah... worth it, but be afraid!

Teeth whitening post-braces?
I have had braces for a little over a year and a half and should be getting them off in the next couple of months, but feel my smile (although straight) won't be complete until it's white, so what whitening products do you reccomend? that are in a $0- $150 price range or somewhere along those lines, and actually work! please and thank you :)

Use it twice a day for 12 weeks and you should see a difference... :) But I wouldn't whiten my teeth while you still have braces... you might end up with the spots on your teeth after you get them off. I heard about this lady who had really bad spots after she got her braces off, and even with expensive whitening toothpaste and dental work, the spots barely went away or made a difference... Just hang in there and keep on brushing for the next few months. It'll be worth it in the long run and you won't have ugly spots after you get your braces off! But in the meantime think about the mouthwash - it really works if you use it right!! :) Good luck!! =D - Mary Grace

I don't have money to pay the dentist to do it, so I'm going to be using the strips. I just have a few questions about them... 1. What brand/type would you recommend? 2. How well do they actually work? 3. If you stop using them, do your teeth go back to how they were? (obviously I would continue brushing, etc.?) 4. How long does it take until your teeth looks better? 5. I think I read somewhere they may be bad for your teeth....is this true?

I tried the Crest White Strips but had to stop after a few days. There was something in there (peroxide, I think) that made my teeth hurt, like I was chewing aluminum foil, and it kept getting worse. I use baking soda a few times a week now. Plus the White Strips were expensive.

How can I whiten my teeth?
I am getting married in July and want a bright, white smile. I currently brush my teeth twice daily with a whitening toothpaste, but my teeth are still yellow! I don't smoke or chew or anything like that, but I do drink dark drinks such as cola, tea and juice. I have Tried Crest White Strips but they made my gums sore and inflammed. Does anyone know a way to whiten my teeth without the obvious of avoiding dark drinks and brushing with a whitening toothpaste? And the cost of the treatment. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Opalescence whitening for teeth?
I started using this stuff at home with the trays. Am only one week through my treatment. It is taking me forever to finish because I keep stopping due to how sensitive my teeth become. I notice my teeth are lighter, but not as light as I thought they would be. Any advice from other people how used this? Did you get great results? Do you think it will be better for me after another week of bleaching?

If you're not a coffee-drinker or a smoker, what is a good way to whiten your teeth at home?
I've never in my life been a smoker, because I'm sixteen. Haha. And I almost NEVER drink coffee, because I don't really like it too much. I brush my teeth every so often with baking soda, and use regular Crest Multi-care Whitening toothpaste. Should this whiten my teeth a decent amount?

How dangerous is using a homemade hydrogen peroxide and baking soda mix to whiten teeth?
I saw a really simple way to whiten teeth with a homemade paste using hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. I'm not saying I'd intentionally swallow any of it but I want to know how dangerous it is putting a poison like that in my mouth for a few minutes every so often. Is it worth the results? Does it really work?

It works but it also does harm to your enamel and your gum. The baking soda will scratch your enamel and the peroxide will turn your gums white and will cause them to recede. If you think its worth it then go ahead.
