I'm 19 years old and living in Malibu, California. I just want to know how much it will cost to whiten my teeth because other products like, Crest Whitening Strips didn't work at all.

Hm... Depends on how you want to do it really. I just got a mold for whitening trays. :) I heard they work best and you can always reuse it. :D

teeth whitening for sensitive teeth?
I tried the crest white strips from the store and they made my teeth hurt really bad!! what else is available over the counter for sensitive teeth?
--------------------
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic treatment done to improve the appearance of teeth. But it is not safe or effective for everyone. Sensitive teeth can be considered as a reason for that, or, what is worse, as a result. Tooth sensitivity is tooth discomfort in one or more teeth that is triggered by hot, cold, sweet or sour foods and drinks, or even by breathing cold air. The pain can be sharp, sudden, and shoot deep into the nerve endings of your teeth. Different causes of sensitive tooth influence differently on the future whitening process. Brushing too hard, for example, produces tooth sensitivity and it would be better not to bleach your teeth in this period of time because the enamel is worn down and the dentine become exposed. The roots' exposed surface, as a result of recession of the gums, will not allow a good dentist to white your teeth. In case this periodontal disease is ignored unnecessary and painful effects will follow. If the tooth is cracked or it must be filled firstly the needed treatment is done. Only after that teeth bleaching is possible. This rule can be used in case of any tooth or gum diseases. The age can be considered as a cause, too. The tooth sensitivity is highest between the ages of 25 and 30. In this case you can not worry about bad consequences. However, the last decision is made by the dentist you chose. Considering he or she is a good specialist, a correct direction in your future actions will be given. In case you decided to bleach your sensitive teeth, there exist three main methods. The first one and the most trusted is the whitening treatment provided by specialist, also called by dentists chairside bleaching, in-office bleaching, or power bleaching. The dentist first protects the patient's gums and tissue by applying a protective gel or a rubber shield. Than he applies a whitening solution on the teeth. This solution contains hydrogen peroxide, which is a bleaching agent that could change the tooth color. This bleaching agent comes in concentrations ranging from 15% to 35%, and only 10% in the case of sensitive teeth. After the gel is applied, a light may be shined on the teeth to accelerate the whitening agent. The whole process can last from thirty minutes to an hour. Sometimes patients may need to return for additional treatments. The cost of treatment for the whole mouth can cost from $300 to $1,000. The second method is the dentist-supervised treatment and it combines visits to the dentist with treatment at home. For this sensitive teeth whitening process, the dentist takes an impression of the patient's teeth and makes a mouthpiece tray, or mouth-guard, that will fit over the teeth. The dentist dispenses a whitening gel that the patient will place in the customized mouth-guard. The gel usually contains carbamide peroxide, which concentration is equivalent of an approximately 3% concentration of hydrogen peroxide. The dentist will set up a schedule for wearing the mouth-guard. A patient may wear the piece overnight for one to two weeks. For other systems, or a set amount of time twice a day. This treatment usually lasts two weeks. Supervised home sensitive teeth bleaching costs from $200 to $600. The third method is the in-home treatment. It usually includes different kinds of gels, whitening strips, and whitening toothpaste, a lot of time, but less money. No matter what method you chose. The important thing is to have a dental exam before starting treatment. After that the dentist can advise you the most appropriate procedure. He or she will also discuss the expected results of treatment and will carefully pay attention to the possible defects. Following all specialist's recommendations you can have even your sensitive teeth bleached.

Home remedies for Teeth Whitening?
Preferably, anything without the acid, baking soda, and the strawberry trick, those all i've seen and apparently they are more harmful for your teeth than beneficial.

How to make your teeth whiter?
I got my braces off this past summer and my teeth just arent as white as i want them to be! My mom refuses to get my teeth whitened at a dentist office, so i am wondering if you guys have any helpful tips on how to get white teeth What whitening strips work best? What toothpaste is good for whitening? Anything like that would be great! Thanks!

I have been a heavy smoker for the past 8 years and used to have stained teeth.. And I mean really badly stained. Brushing your teeth after every meal will prevent your teeth from getting any worse. And of course keeping away from coffee, tea and smoking will help too. ;-) The crest whitening strips work pretty good. I noticed a difference the first few times I used it, but the more I used them though the less difference I saw. There is a product out there that helped me get my teeth white in 2 weeks flat.. It ships in a day or two and it only costs $1 using a coupon. get it urself from www.teethclub.com and use the coupon:SMILE Enjoy your white teeth with this product and stay away from other rip offs with fake promises. PS: It took me years of trial and error to get to this miracle product and I would love to share my experience with you.

Which whitening method do you use for your teeth?
Do you use an OTC method or do you have ur own that you find works the best? If so what do you use?
--------------------
Here are many ways that you can whitening your teeth! For home remedies. Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form toothpaste. Brush the teeth regularly with this paste. It will remove all stains in a month. Use bicarbonate of soda 5 minutes before brushing the teeth with normal toothpaste in the morning. This is a good home remedy for teeth whitening. Rubbing the bark of walnut tree on the teeth helps in removing all stains from the teeth. Strawberries are considered natural teeth whiteners. Rubbing the teeth with strawberries daily will remove all the stains. If you would like a suggestion on tooth whitening gel, here's something for you! Crest Night Effects Whitening Gel (about $18.00) allows you to remove stains while you sleep. The tooth whitening system has a fresh, wintergreen flavor. After fourteen days of sleeping with this product on your teeth, you will wake up to a vibrant smile. You should see results in two days, although there are reports of tooth whitening results in one night More on http://www.toothwhiteningproductreview.c

Best Way to teeth whiten and What products to use?
Uncomfortable with my smile and on a budget! Best way to teeth whiten (Trays or strips) at home. Links to of legit websites of whitener ratings will work also thanks!

get things that say hydrogen peroxide in the ingredients and of course things labeled whitening haha. try getting arm and hammer whitening booster gel. it's a gel type thing that you apply with your toothpaste(cause it doesn't have fluoride, just mainly hydrogen peroxide) and you just brush normally for 2 minutes and you don't even taste it. it's just like your brushing your teeth. it's only about 4-5 dollars and it really works. im currently using it and i get lots of compliments on how white my teeth look! best whitening strips are of course crest. they have different varieties and costs. but since you are on a budget i'd get the crest whitening strips Premium. They are the 2nd cheapest and they work really good also. go to crest.com and go to the whitening section and you can check out the different types and compare it with the other ones. and wear darker colors to make your teeth look really bright and white! :)

i need something to whiten my teeth. the crest whitening strips dont really work for me.?
is there a good whitening toohpaste or good whitening strips i can use?

well the strips work, otherwise they wouldnt have lasted this long on the shelf...the only thing is your teeth may not work for IT! are you a smoker? Or a coffee drinker? Stains from these habits run a little deeper than a one time 14 night home whitening kit.. You may want to consider ZOOM whitening. a 60 minute treatment with flouride under some bright purple UV whitening light or something...Dont know the terms, but it brought my teeth 14 shades up :) Good luck!

whitening strips left white spots on my teeth? will these go away or stay there?
i used a whitening strip today, and when i took it off i noticed some white spots on the bottom of my teeth. will these go away?
--------------------
Most likely these are areas of decalcification. Sometimes they are more apparent after whitening or if the teeth are dried off. They don't cause any problems but they will not go away by themselves. They would have to be ground out and replaced with bonded composite fillings. This is not usually done.

Teeth whitening with bleach?
Someone told me today that they met a woman who had amazingly white teeth, and she told her that her secret was diluting bleach in water, and rinsing her mouth with it. Has anyone heard of anyone else doing that and it working?
--------------------
Well, if they did do that, that probably went straight to the ER to get their stomach pumped or something. You never put bleach in your mouth...you can use hydrogen perioxide and swish it around in your mouth to help clean your gums, but it will not lighten or "bleach" your teeth. Dental bleaching can only be done by a DENTIST

I have white spots on my teeth, will zoom whitening make them less noticable or worse?
Is Zoom whitening worth the money?
--------------------
The white spots are caused from excessive fluoride ingested; it's called fluorosis and described as mottling. I would not recommend the zoom bleaching system especially to you due to the mottling. I'm speaking from the voice of experience since I've tried the zoom and brite smile, but I've used and still use my bleaching trays, for over ten or twelve years now, so what does that tell you? Most patients are extremely happy with the bleaching trays and solutions that your dentist can offer you. This method takes about two weeks to achieve the brightness you want and allows you to touch up months later when you feel like your teeth are getting a little dark. You use the trays for about 30 minutes to an hour, once or twice each day for two weeks, sometimes a little longer depending on the darkness of your teeth. There are various solutions of different strengths that can be used so that sensitivity is minimal. The zoom doesn't offer this, it's only advantage is that it takes an hour giving you the instant brightness that most patients want. Now I can tell you that all of the one hour products say they last a year or even two but I was using my trays within 6 months time after both of them. The one hour systems are about $600 for (what they say) a year vs. approximately $400 for many years. Like I said, I've used my same ones well over ten years that I can remember. Most patients don't wear the trays out; they burn them with hot curling irons or misplace them. So with the fluorosis that you have I would definitely use the dental bleaching trays so that "you" can monitor your whiteness level. I think you will be much happier with this method. Discuss this with your dentist, I'm sure he will give you the same information about the "trays" that I have. I don't think you will get the same information about the one hour system though, if his office is trying to sell it. Hope I've been of some help and good luck with which ever method that you choose. I almost forgot your question, yes it will make them more noticeable in the beginning, but as your teeth get brighter and lighter they will blend better. My daughter has the same problem and hers seemed to disappear after she did her bleaching trays. I hate to admit this, but no I do not think that Zoom is worth the money that most dentists are charging for the session. Additional information: You are correct, if they have the system they try to sell it and I hate that this is done by some dentist but it is. You have to understand, they have a price tag to pay for this equipment, even if it's not used. Some dentist will place, or have the lab place a "block" on the model prior to making the trays so they have a "pocket" or slight indentation. I prefer to make my own "without the block" added to the model. This way you use "less bleaching material", which means "less waste," the tray "fits tighter" over the teeth since it's been made from an exact replica of your teeth, which allows the material to be "expressed over the face of each tooth's entirety." This will give you an even bleaching process each and every time you bleach. You may have some of the material, usually on the lower anterior that seeps some on the bottom, but the material is pretty thick and will adhere to the teeth, so a little seepage is fine and should be wiped off. As far as saliva going up under the trays, it's not a possibility if the trays fit tight and are placed correctly. You might want to ask your dentist "not" to place the block on the model so the tray fits completely against the teeth. Some cases I've seen with the block placed have a tendency to allow the solution to "pool" leaving a space at the top of the upper near the tissue, and at the lower missing the incical edge of the teeth that doesn't get bleached as well. I just prefer to make mine without any added material, that way I'm sure the bleach will be flattened or expressed over the entire surface of the face of each tooth. I'm sure after you discuss this with your dentist he will make the trays without the block if you request it, unless he makes them that way already. If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know. Good luck, I'm sure you will love the bleaching process, how well it works and you're new brighter whiter smile!

helppp! teeth whitening trays!?
okay so this is about my 5th day with whitening trays.. from the dentist. so it seems like i've been putting too much gel in because it overflows and burns my mouth. but a tonight i did it and a part of my gum in front of one tooth is all white and it hurts? what should i do? when will it go away? Thanks!
--------------------
Your gum turned white from a reaction to the peroxide used in the whitening process. It is a common occurrance. Just simply rinse your mouth with some cool water, and it should go away in an hour or so.

How long for yellow teeth to become white?
If you brush, floss, use mouth wash every morning and night? And occasionally get teeth whitening and use drug store whiteners, will your teeth be really white by the following year (365 days)

Do you want them as white as a piece of chalk? Everybody has a different shade of teeth. It's part of being human. There are thousands of variations in shade. I have used black stain making porcelain crowns. People that have taken Tetracycline, long term can have black teeth, especially teen agers and young kids. The shade of your teeth get darker as you age. I have never seen "white" teeth. Most teeth are a slightly different color, either darker(most cases) or lighter at the tip, or incisal. It's usually a translucent grey to bluish. You will not lighten that. I think people are overly obsessed with having white teeth. If you want your teeth as light as possible and to last 20+++ years, get porcelain veneers. You can choose the shade you want. Don't forget your wallet.

Is it safe to get my teeth professionally whitened when Im 9 weeks pregnant?
Im 9 weeks pregnant and I wanted to get my teeth whitened at the dentist..is this safe or should I wait till after the baby is born?? Also is any other dentistry work harmful such as just getting my teeth cleaned? Thanks!!:)
--------------------
When you're pregnant is actually recommended to get a dental check up and cleanings. The hormones in your body while pregnant can bleed, swell and trap food which can lead to gum disease and gingivitis. These can lead to preterm labor in some cases. I don't think whitening would be a good idea, it wouldn't be worth the risk to the baby to me, but check with your OB and dentist. Also, make sure your dentist is aware you're pregnant .. there are different types of medications they'll use for pain or for antibiotics if needed. They'll generally postpone any x-rays or anything like that if its necessary! I had to have an emergency crown done during my second pregnancy. We waited a few weeks until I was out of my first trimester and used a different type of pain killer, lidocaine is normally used but can cross into the placenta, I can't remember what my dentist used though. Good luck to you and congratulations!

We waited a few weeks until I was out of my first trimester and used a different type of pain killer, lidocaine is normally used but can cross into the placenta, I can't remember what my dentist used though. Good luck to you and congratulations!

Have you ever had your teeth whitened by a dentist?
I've tried different whitening strips and I really can't see much of a difference. I would really like to have my dentist do it, but I am concerned about cost. Has anyone had this procedure? If you have, can you give me a ballpark estimate of the price? Thanks!

I did, and it cost about $200. I can't remember exactly. The dentist made a mold of my teeth to make custom trays. I used whitening gel. I can buy touch ups for about $45 whenever I want. I get 3 syringes of gel that last a long, long time. You put a drop or two for each tooth in the tray. Wear it overnight or for a couple hours during the day. And if I need to I can get new custom "trays". I get compliments all the time about how white my teeth are. Not glow in the dark white. But nice clean looking white. I couldn't be happier!

Should i get my teeth whitened?
I am 13 years old, and i have already had the customized tray and gel from the dental office. my teeth are pretty white, but i want them a little bit whiter, because the trays and gel dont whiten anymore. should i get the in office teeth whitening? is zoom the only in office procedure there is? the money part isn't a problem, i just am wondering if i should get my teeth whitened again.
--------------------
I'm a Dental Assistant, i do the 'Zoom2' treatments in my office. In my office, and i hope others as well... I dont Zoom childrens teeth under the age of 16. Why, you ask... Well, no reason really, cept the instructions with the Zoom treatment says "Not for kids under age of 16". So be on the safe side, in other words to save mine and my offices butts, in case something was to go wrong.. we wont do it on younger kids. As far as, if it works and how white can/ will they get? YES, it does work, brilliantly. It only takes an hour with the Zoom 2...the orginial Zoom takes a little longer... but it does work. AND, your teeth can only go 'so white'! And thats pretty dang white.. that its fake looking. Why do you want to have fake looking teeth? If your teeth are already pretty white, why bother spending loads more money to try whitening even more when a) its a waste of money and b) its so fake looking, its obvious to people! Whats the point? As for 'gum' sensitivity after Zooming... yes, there can be some. MOST people dont have it though, if the treatment was done properly. If your gums have white places above a tooth, the solution has gotten in contact with the tissue. You have to be very careful as to NOT get the peroxide onto the gums. You have to pay special action to protect the gum tissue, it will/can burn it. When you Zoom, we put a cheek retractor inside the mouth, which stretches your mouth really WIDE open. We then pack your mouth full of gauze: under your upper lip, under your lower lip, under your tongue, and packed like a chipmunk inside your cheeks. Then you place a material onto the gums, which hardens with a special light, its purpose is to block off any remaining uncovered tissue from any contact of the bleaching gel. After that you, you start applying the peroxide and a special light is needed to activate the solution. Basically the pores on the teeth are opened up and it soaks the peroxide up. Again, this can cause teeth sensitivity as well at times, but i've yet to see anyone complain to the point i had to stop treatment due to the teeth getting to sensitive. When treatment is done... i send my patients home with a free paste call 'MI Paste' incase of teeth sensitivity, and a tube of Vitamin E for gum sensitivity in case of exposure to the gum. Like i said before, i have had nothing but positive feedback from my patients, they love this form of bleaching. BUT.. i'm not so sure its for you. You have white teeth already, i wouldnt advise it for people in general with already white teeth. It looks to fake, in my opinion.

I'm using expired Xantia teeth whitening gel, is it safe?
its been expired for about 3 years. Is it safe to use? thanks
--------------------
Most toothpastes don't pose a health risk when they're expired. In fact, most brands don't even put expiration dates on their packaging. The paste is probably safe, but it might not be as effective as it was in its prime three years ago. Happy brushing!

I used a free product for a few days and now my teeth are bright white. My husband was so happy for me when he saw the results because he knew of all the different products I have tried in the past with no success. you can't beat free and it works in days.
