how much is teeth whitening? at the dentist.?

and how does the proceeder work?
--------------------
It usually ranges from $400-$700. They put a napkin thing around your gums so that it doesn't burn your gums...then they put a bleaching paste on your teeth then put a light over your teeth to activate the paste. It usually doesn't take more than an hour.

will crest whitening strips whiten my teeth in a week?

i want them whitened before school starts and when i come back from vacation. thanks
--------------------
Noticeably whiter smile. The operative word is noticeably. You will not get the results of a professional whitening session performed at a dentist's office but it will definitely look better. Hope this helps.

How to whiten teeth for cheap?

Besides all the exspensive remedies and stuff we have avaliable what are some easy ways to whiten teeth that wont strain my wallet. Thanks alot to anyone who answers uselfully.
--------------------
Hey Aaron...Don't go after the cheapest solution. You want something that really works and is cost effective. I have tried a lot of whiteners, and finally found one that works great and doesn't hurt my teeth, gums or bank account. I really like a product called Y10 PRO. This product uses a cool color technology to speed the whitening process. With the faster whitening, you get less sensitivity and gum problems. The great thing is that they have a special running right now.

Can you get your teeth whitened with Brite Smile if you have a permanent retainer on bottom teeth?

After my braces came off, my orthodontist placed a permanent retainer in the back of my lower front teeth and was wondering if it's safe to have teeth bleached? I've heard it can be bad to do this and it could mess up the retainer?
--------------------
No one claims there will be a problem. I have searched the internet and the only problems people have is with striping, where the bar across your teeth prevents a strip of your teeth from whitening like the rest, but if I can remember, permanent retainers are only on the inside? This page http://www.whitersmile.com.au/FAQ.html#3 has a question about retainers and all they mention is that their product will mold around the retainer, not that it will effect it. Others have had questions but have not been told to wait to whiten their teeth. Ask your orthodontist if i you still have doubts but if it won't ruin your teeth, it won't ruin the retainer. Crowns and things won't get whiter with a bleach but it won't effect them. From another Yahoo.com Answers post: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?… "My orthodontist told me not to use toothpaste on my retainer as it makes them go all cloudy." That's about all it will do and since you can't see permanent retainers, you shouldn't worry.

Do you think professionally whitening your teeth is gross...?

So I whitened my teeth professionally, instead of white strips. I've heard people say that's gross!? I don't get why, my teeth weren't yellow before though..they were just a darker shade of white.
--------------------
Lot of people do face problems with yellow teeth. The reason for yellow teeth can be less calcium, smoking or coffee. Some people face problems like yellow to faint yellow teeth also because of too much brushing or using products which harm teeth. While baking soda or peroxide can make your teeth white but it is not recommended. Dentists world over do not recommend use of such pure form substances on teeth as they harm your teeth in longer run. Not all whitening trays are good, in fact many people have complained about irritation and pain with trays. Lot of people want white teeth so that they can smile big and don't get embarrassed while talking to friends and colleagues. Such people can use teeth whitening pens which are 100% safe for your teeth. The best thing about these products is that you can easily get FREE trial to have white teeth. You may order your free trials and have white teeth. You just have to pay for the shipping and handling. Its always better to try before you buy and I am sure it will work for everyone including you. How to whiten teeth in a short period of time?

I have 1 week to atleast whiten my teeth a little bit.
--------------------
the cheapest way is to dip your toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide, sprinkle baking soda on top and brush away- gently at least 2x a day. Otherwise Crest White Strips or similar can do it in a week. Just read the package. Your dentist can also do it in his/her office in an hour using a gel and special light for about two hundred bucks- depending on where you live.

teeth whitening, how is it? how much does it usually cost? im in GA btw...?

how much does it cost? is it safe? how long does it last? side-effects? recommendations?
--------------------
when i had teeth whitening from my dentist it was like $200ish or so which included the plastic mold for your teeth and 2 boxes of the whitening gel which is much more potent than the gel used in the crest etc white strips and other commercial products. the 2 boxes is usually enough to whiten your teeth alot but the dentist still sells the individual tubes of the gel (4 tubes per box) for $10 each after that. what people normally do is just buy a couple tubes per year to keep their teeth white after the initial whitening treatment from the 8 tubes of gel before. as for safe. why would they offer it if it wasnt safe? the only side affect is if you put too much gel it will be in more contact with your gums and it can make your gums sore. in that case the dentist said just to use it every other day or every 2 days so that your gums dont become sore.

Whitening Teeth?

I always brush my teeth and just got back into the habit of flossing them. Well, I was considering trying Trident gum the one that whitens your teeth? Has anybody tried this gum before?Did your teeth get whiter? Does it remove plaque and coffee stains from your teeth? I have an orthodontist appointment and the doctor told me to be sure to brush my teeth and to floss them before I meet with him? I was just wondering if the gum will help as well as brushing and flossing my teeth? I really want to take care of my teeth.
--------------------
Most whitening gums don't actually whiten your teeth very much. Maybe a little. But, unlike other gums, they won't damage your teeth with sugar. And they won't discolor them with dye. Usually "Whitening Gums" just clean the teeth up a bit and freshen your breath.

Is there a tactful way to drop the hint that someone needs to whiten their teeth?

I have an acquaintance with badly stained teeth (coffee), and he would be so much more attractive without the brown teeth! He is single and a nice looking guy, and it would just be such an improvement on his appearance. I was thinking about telling him that I bought some new whitening strips, and I was going to use them just to try to open up the topic to discussion. I don't want to hurt his feelings because he is really nice! Please help!!!
--------------------
It's possible that this guy has sensitive teeth and can't use tooth whitening products (like me). Or, maybe he just doesn't care about the stains enough to do anything about it. Maybe one day you should say that your teeth are aching from these new whitening strips that you got... that way, you're still bringing the topic of tooth whitening up for discussion, but the conversation is still focused on you and it's not an obvious "hint." Hopefully you'll engage him and you'll find out why he hasn't done anything about his stained teeth. If he goes "oh" and lets the topic drop, forget about it-- he probably just doesn't care.

How can i whiten my teeth?

I need to whiten my teeth without buying things.....I have tried whitening tooth paste, white strips..and they won't get them white enough... and i really don't want to go to the dentist! Please help, Thanks!
--------------------
This might sound weird, but banana peels!! You rub the inside of the peel (white part opposite of yellow side) across your teeth for about 5 minutes. Than, you take a tooth brush and brush off the residue. In about a month, you teeth will improve by two shades of white! Good Luck!!! ;D

Teeth whitening (read description)?

alright I want a natural way to do this and I want it as soon as possible! brushing my teeth with only the toothpaste will not help very much I want an extremely effective way to whiten my teeth if possible then it would be nice if it was under 2 weeks that is all
--------------------
Hello..Ok, let me first tell you the old saying "haste makes waste" when applied to you would read, ''Haste may ruin your teeth"...if you attempt to whiten your teeth to quickly. Some tooth whitening products can make your teeth very sensitive and some can soften the enamel on your teeth....This is the two issues you need to be very careful about. You need to get an opinion from your Dentist because he or she has your dental records and will know if you need to avoid a particular brand of tooth whitening product. Please be careful what you attempt and how fast you attempt it. Good luck and I wish you well.

How much to get teeth bleached/whitened?

I want to get my teeth bleached/whitened at my local dentist office. I looked on their website and they don't list ANY prices, only what they offer... Could you please tell me what the average price of bleaching/whitening is?
--------------------
The standard fee for teeth whitening and teeth bleaching procedures is about $500 in most cases. Costs can vary depending upon the area of the country you live in and the type of whitening treatment you undergo. Laser teeth whitening is typically over $1000. for example. In-home tray bleaching can cost between $50. and $100. dollars for a total teeth whitening system. Store-bought whitening strips can cost as little as $25. for a total treatment whitening system. Teeth whitening stores, stands and kiosks typically cost between $50. and $150. dollars per treatment. Generally speaking, the price of teeth whitening increases with the number of in-office treatments required by the patient. Dental insurance does not typically cover the cost of the teeth whitening procedure.

tooth whitening products - Some way to tooth whitening products? any ideas?

I've been questioning myself about white teeth bleaching. Well I want to try crest whitening strips but I hear lots of people say its not good, is that true for white teeth bleaching? How can i get my teeth white?
--------------------
teeth whitening bleach? mix peroxide and baking soda together and brush for 3-5 minutes after ever meal as well as before you go to sleep. do this for a couple of months and you'll see your teeth slowly turning white. i tried this and i couldn't wait that long to see results so i tried a teeth whitening kit that i could take home. low and behold, i saw results a lot faster than i expected. i didn't have to spend over $500 to get my teeth whitened by the dentist, saved money with the free trial i found online that sent me the kit...life is great. i hope that helped guide you to the right 'teeth whitening bleach' direction.

Teeth whitening Question..?

I want to whiten my teeth but can't afford the professional treatments at the dentist. I've tried Crest Whitestrips but they make my gums hurt and the paste on the strips foam when it hits my gums, maybe I had a cut? It was excruciating pain. Anyway, I've done some research and it looks like brushing with hydrogen peroxide hurts the enamel and makes teeth prone to cavities. What else is there for me?

I have white spots on my teeth, will zoom whitening make them less noticable or worse?

Is Zoom whitening worth the money?
--------------------
The white spots are caused from excessive fluoride ingested; it's called fluorosis and described as mottling. I would not recommend the zoom bleaching system especially to you due to the mottling. I'm speaking from the voice of experience since I've tried the zoom and brite smile, but I've used and still use my bleaching trays, for over ten or twelve years now, so what does that tell you? Most patients are extremely happy with the bleaching trays and solutions that your dentist can offer you. This method takes about two weeks to achieve the brightness you want and allows you to touch up months later when you feel like your teeth are getting a little dark. You use the trays for about 30 minutes to an hour, once or twice each day for two weeks, sometimes a little longer depending on the darkness of your teeth. There are various solutions of different strengths that can be used so that sensitivity is minimal. The zoom doesn't offer this, it's only advantage is that it takes an hour giving you the instant brightness that most patients want. Now I can tell you that all of the one hour products say they last a year or even two but I was using my trays within 6 months time after both of them. The one hour systems are about $600 for (what they say) a year vs. approximately $400 for many years. Like I said, I've used my same ones well over ten years that I can remember. Most patients don't wear the trays out; they burn them with hot curling irons or misplace them. So with the fluorosis that you have I would definitely use the dental bleaching trays so that "you" can monitor your whiteness level. I think you will be much happier with this method. Discuss this with your dentist, I'm sure he will give you the same information about the "trays" that I have. I don't think you will get the same information about the one hour system though, if his office is trying to sell it. Hope I've been of some help and good luck with which ever method that you choose. I almost forgot your question, yes it will make them more noticeable in the beginning, but as your teeth get brighter and lighter they will blend better. My daughter has the same problem and hers seemed to disappear after she did her bleaching trays. I hate to admit this, but no I do not think that Zoom is worth the money that most dentists are charging for the session. Additional information: You are correct, if they have the system they try to sell it and I hate that this is done by some dentist but it is. You have to understand, they have a price tag to pay for this equipment, even if it's not used. Some dentist will place, or have the lab place a "block" on the model prior to making the trays so they have a "pocket" or slight indentation. I prefer to make my own "without the block" added to the model. This way you use "less bleaching material", which means "less waste," the tray "fits tighter" over the teeth since it's been made from an exact replica of your teeth, which allows the material to be "expressed over the face of each tooth's entirety." This will give you an even bleaching process each and every time you bleach. You may have some of the material, usually on the lower anterior that seeps some on the bottom, but the material is pretty thick and will adhere to the teeth, so a little seepage is fine and should be wiped off. As far as saliva going up under the trays, it's not a possibility if the trays fit tight and are placed correctly. You might want to ask your dentist "not" to place the block on the model so the tray fits completely against the teeth. Some cases I've seen with the block placed have a tendency to allow the solution to "pool" leaving a space at the top of the upper near the tissue, and at the lower missing the incical edge of the teeth that doesn't get bleached as well. I just prefer to make mine without any added material, that way I'm sure the bleach will be flattened or expressed over the entire surface of the face of each tooth. I'm sure after you discuss this with your dentist he will make the trays without the block if you request it, unless he makes them that way already. If there is anything else I can help you with just let me know. Good luck, I'm sure you will love the bleaching process, how well it works and you're new brighter whiter smile!
