I have light yellow teeth and I brush my teeth at least 2 times a day. I sometimes drink tea and rarely any coffee. School starts in less than a week or about, and I want my teeth to be a little bit more white. Any home remedies without going to the dentist or having to go to the store to buy something? If not, then please list any things I can buy for a CHEAP price that is very effective.
--------------------
The baking soda solution in the previous answer is a good one, but you can make it better by mixing the baking soda with a little hydrogen peroxide, which you can buy for very little in any pharmacy, Make a paste with the peroxide and the baking soda, and brush with that. Just be realistic. There is a reason why the makers of expensive commercial products can get away with charging so much. They work better than cheap home remedies. Still, if your teeth are only light yellow, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide may be all you need, so it iis worth giving that a try. If you want more information about how to do this, check out the Web page below: http://hubpages.com/hub/Hydrogen-Peroxid
Good luck!!

I would like to get my teeth whitened but is laser or guard better?I also have 2 veneers & need them replaced?
I have been qouted £450 at local dentist for guard whitening and replacement of veneers included £2,100. I have receeding gums which I am worried about with the whitening process.
--------------------
I agree with the Dental Nurse above...have your teeth whitened before you have your veneers redone so you get a perfect shade match. The laser whitening is so fast and intense it could cause long term damage to the nerves.....it's a relatively new procedure so there is no long term literature to show how it may affect teeth in the long run. The guard and gel method has been around longer so there is more literature around to back up it's safety. The guard and gel method which you would use at home has a lower % of bleach and therefore is more gentle on the nerves. However some people do experience sensitivity through it's use. If you're gonna go for it, I recommend using a bleach that is a 10% solution - the lowest available but you will find it just as affective....you'll notice a difference in a week or two. Your receding gums shouldn't be a problem unless they are already sensitive in which case stay away from bleaching....it will exasperate the problem. Private dental practises set their own charges for veneers or crowns - shop around to see if you can get a better price. The current NHS price for one veneer is £83 but can only be done if clinically necessary under their guidelines....may be worth investigating - though trying to get an NHS dentist can be tricky depending on where you live.

How Do You Make Teeth Perfectly White?
I would like to know a way of whitening teeth. Make it simple please Thanx
--------------------
I don't recommend whitening systems that are not done by a dentist because they are either fraud or will damage your teeth. The whtening systems done by dentist are 2 types: 1) dentist will make you special trays that fits only your teeth and give you some gels and instructs you how to do it yourself home.(normally takes 2 weeks for a good result. 2) Chair side whitening. Whitening done by your own dentist which can take about 1-1.5 hours depends on the system and you will have result right away. The dentist will first cover up your gum totally and protects you lip, tongoue and all other sift tissues, the he will apply very strong whitening gels to your teeth and normally activitate them with blue light. It will be much faster and you see the result right away. More expensive. One example is Zoom system that I use in my practice. Additional Joke: yesterday it was a question about whitening and the guy asked if he can use "bleach" to whiten the teeth!! Well unless you wanna kill yourself, don't use any bleach!!!

whitening trays - How do celebrities produce whitening trays? any hints?
Looking for suggestions on teeth whitening kits. My friend has really white teeth and you'd think his dental hygiene was superb. The truth is, he can go up to 4 days without brushing them. His breath smells but his teeth are still white. Talk about teeth whitening kits! What do you think my friend is using?
--------------------
An acquaintance told me to try out a teeth whitening kit because I asked so many 'celebrity teeth white' questions. I was skeptical because whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, strips and hydrogen peroxide didn't work out the way I wanted. I got a free trial online and had it shipped to my house. Within a few days later, I could see noticeable results. I am getting so many compliments, a friend actually went out and paid $450 to whiten her teeth. Only if she knew what I did and how much I paid for it. Enough about celebrity teeth white. Try out the baking and peroxide first and see how that works. If you end up in my situation, I suggestion the whitening kit. Good luck.

How to whiten teeth? Does peroxide work and is it good or bad to use?
How can i make why teeth whiter, i have heard peroxide helps but is it ok to use it?
--------------------
Use it a couple times a week. Also, I use Arm&Hammer toothpaste. That stuff works really well. Also, be sure to floss and use mouth wash. The more of those things you do on a regular basis, the better off you will be.

Is it safe for my teeth to do this?
Use teeth whitening strips until my teeth are white and then stop using them and just brush my teeth from then on?
--------------------
It is safe for your teeth to do that. This is the normal procedure for teeth whitening strips. Remember to follow the package directions. You can stop the teeth whitening procedure at any time in the course of the directions.

What are some ways to make your teeth whiter?
I heard putting peroxide & baking soda together and brushing your teeth with it helps whiten your teeth, but that seems a lil off to me. If you have any ways to whiten your teeth, please let me know, because I don't feel like spending hundreds of dollars of whitening them at the doctors office. Thank you for any help!

white strips work well. brushing baking soda and peroxide do too. using salt and tooth paste is also really great for whitening. furthermore, rubbing strawberries or nectarines on your teeth can make them whiter. good luck and happy brushing

What is the best way to whiten teeth and keep them whitened?
I used to love playing with my teeth and cleaning them.
--------------------
I found that the best & cheapest teeth whitener is hydrogen peroxide. Pour equal parts water & hydrogen peroxide into a little cup & swish for 30 seconds (Don't swallow it, you'll get sick!). Do this for a few days & your teeth will be whiter.

I bought Listerine Pre Brush Whitening 3 months ago, and there has been little to no difference to my teeth?
I used it twice a day following the instructions, using it before I brush in the morning and at night. Not only this, but the toothpaste I used was and still using it is Crest 3D white toothpaste. NONE OF THIS STUFF WORKS. You can feel the difference using this toothpaste, but the results show nothing. They say guaranteed whitening in 8 days, and thats total BS. As for the Listerine thats fake, does not work. So I'm deciding on spending $40 for the whitening strips by either Listerine/Crest, the so called "Advance 3D protection whitening" whatever. Should I get it, or will this be a waste? I just want something that can whitened my teeth, is that too much to ask.

Anything over the counter, be it the white strips, the mouthwash, the trays, etc, have a low concentration (~5%) of bleach/whitening solution. No matter what you use over the counter you may get only 1-2 shades lighter. Most people don't notice much of a difference, but if you want a to lighten up a little it's great. Otherwise, I suggest saving the $40-60 and put it toward professional zoom whitening or custom fit trays with very concentrated bleach (23%) and you'll get 7-9 shades lighter.

whitening strips for very sensitive teeth?
I have very sensitive teeth. I have used crest and other whitening strips, but they have caused my teeth to hurt very bad. Does any body know of a whitening strip or product for very sensitive teeth. I am also thinking about lumineers. does anyone have them. can they be financed? what are your payments if you financed them.?
--------------------
Over using whitening products will make your teeth become sensitive. Simply use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth and cut down on the whitening process. Lumineers are a dumb idea-do some internet research on how long they stay "white" and could you afford to redo them every coupala years.

whitening with broken teeth?
i broke my two front teeth (completely) and had them filled. the fake part matches my teeth, which aren't yellow, but aren't as white as i'd like. my dentist told me i wouldn't be able to use home whitening methods, since my teeth would change colors but the fake part wouldn't. what can my dentist do for me to brighten my smile? also, about how much do you think it'd cost? i know dentists and insurance plans vary, but just a guess-timate. thank you!
--------------------
The fillings that you had put in will not whiten. To whiten your front teeth at this point your options arent easy. You can whiten and then have the fillings changed to match the new shade of your teeth. But removing a filling that doesnt need to be is never a great idea. There is also veneers or crowns both can be pretty pricey depending on who you have do it.And the teeth are ground down for these procedures to different degrees. I am not too familiar with the new Luminers you can check into that but i dont think your going to find anything cheap.Go for a consult with a cosmetic dentist they can give you exact prices and they specialize in this area.

how long does it take baking soda to whiten teeth?
if i brush my teeth with baking soda for two minutes 2 times each day (ive heard this works well) how long will it take to whiten them?
--------------------
You need to add a little hydrogen peroxide to the baking soda so it fizzes up into a paste and then brush on. The baking soda is good at removing any stains the the HP oxidizes the teeth to whiten. The combination works well. The results are not dramatic - as you'd expect from a Zoom or other professional teeth whitening.

How can I whiten my teeth without baking soda at home?
I just looked and we are out of baking soda. I am looking for a home remedy to whiten my teeth. I do have hydrogen peroxide. Let me know remedies you know, or recipes. Thank you
--------------------
You can whiten your teeth with just hydrogen peroxide. Dip your toothbrush into the hydrogen peroxide solution, take it out and brush your teeth with it just like you do it with toothpaste. Once done, spit out and rinse all of the excess.

What are some good ways to whiten teeth?
I have braces and i was jw if there are any tricks to help whiten.
--------------------
While you are wearing braces you DO NOT want to whiten your teeth. If you were to whiten your teeth now the whitener will only whiten the enamel that is showing now and will not whiten the enamel that is under your braces. When you have your braces removed you will have all of these yellow squares on your teeth that were not whitened because of the braces covering that area up. If you try to whiten the yellow squares that are left on your teeth from the braces you will also whiten the area that wasn't covered thus the area that wasn't covered will end up being whiter then the area that was covered by your braces. Wait until the braces are removed then whiten your teeth. This way you will not have a problem whitening your teeth and having them be the same whiteness/color.
