most whiteners cause some amount of sensitivity. once you get your braces off i would start with a tooth whitening toothpaste (like Crest whitening expressions). also, if not already, i would suggest you get an electric toothbrush...they have more power than a manual one which can help whiten surface stains. home whitening products are okay if you only use them like 1-2x per month. if you use it more, it can lead to damage or destruction of the enamel on your teeth (some of these include: strawberries, lemon with baking soda, lemon or orange peel, etc.) probably the best home products is to combine 1 teaspoon of baking soda and a few drops of hydrogen peroxide and mix together to combine a paste...this one can actually be done 1-2x a week. i would suggest that maybe you just do the whitening toothpaste/electric toothbrush for a while and save up some money for an OTC product (like Crest whitestrips) or custom bleaching trays and bleach from your dentist. plus, this way you can see if the whitening toothpaste/electric toothbrush will be enough...you may not need anything else. hope this helps! =)

Your dentist! It will cost £250 - £500 depending on the type of tooth whitening you choose! It lasts very well but over time the teeth will naturally discolour again, but then you can buy a top up gel about £20 which will bring them right back up! :-)

I have never whitened my teeth, but what would the reason be other than to look better? Anyway are there any negative perceptions if your teeth are too white? What would you call a person to their face or behind their back if there teeth were too white? Those treatments (depending on which type) can seriously damage your teeth. You shouldn't use the products any more than absolutely necessary. But I've never heard of teeth being too white. My former boss did super-whiten her teeth once and worried about people noticing, but no one would have if she hadn't said anything.

My teeth really hurt when i wear whitening strips :(?

I started using Crest Whitening Strips about three days ago, the ones you have to wear for half an hour twice a day (1 hour total) and just the second time i used them, my left front tooth started really hurting, the next day was the same. Will using Crest Whitestrips more than twice a day whiten my teeth faster?

I wouldn't, it would be quite pointless. You would only be able to get at the bits of your teeth around the braces, so when you got them off it would look pretty weird, and if your teeth are yellow you're not brushing well enough! Just wait until you get your brace off, the orthodontist will clean up your teeth then. Good luck.

brushing ur teeth with baking soda is one of the most effective ways u just have to get past the taste. drinking Coffee, tea, or anything with artificial colorings will darken ur teeth. just try to brush 2-3 times a day
