Is it alright to use whitening strips on trauma tooth?
I once had a bad fall which made my tooth discolor, I done root canal treatment on that tooth. So, is it alright to use whitening strips on it? And will the whitening strips regains my discolor tooth back to the normal teeth color I have?
--------------------
It is alright to use whitening strips on a trauma tooth but you may not achieve the desired results. With what I know, the discoloration comes from the inside of the tooth, and the whitening can't reach too far into the tooth. If it did, then your vital teeth would all get painful. There is such a thing as intracoronal bleaching wherein a bleaching agent is placed within the root canal treated tooth to whiten its shade. Another solution that I can recommend is for you to have your teeth whitened, then if you feel that trauma tooth is still an off color compared to your other teeth, then you can go to a Dentist and have that tooth crowned. The porcelain crown will be made to match the color of the rest of your teeth. Good luck and I hope I helped you out

How can you naturally whiten your teeth?
i already have that whitening toothpaste and is there any others ways to make them whiter naturally?
--------------------
Aside from toothpaste, not much. You should stop drinking coffe if you do, and supprisingly, suggarless gum cleans your teeth off after meals.Thats about it aside form getting a whitening kit from a dentist.

What is the bestvway to whiten your teeth? (don't say brushing)?
I want to whiten my teeth but am not sure what product is best. Has anyone ever used whitening strips that worked? Gel? Please do not say " brush your teeth" because that is not helpful at all.
--------------------
Listerine has a mouthwash that you can buy and whitens your teeth after many uses. I use it, it's really good:) The only down side though, is that it kind of stings your mouth when you use it. But I definitely recomend it. I know you mentioned not to say brushing but..... there are many special toothpastes that have extra whitening power in them. I recomend crest pro health plus whitening. I hope this helped:)

Baking Soda with Peroxide to whiten teeth: Does it work?
I watched a youtube video which suggested this to whiten teeth. Have you done it and does it work? Thanks y'all!
--------------------
It will work, but not very well, and it could weaken the enamel. You can buy kits online for making a mouthguard-tray, and whitening gel (stronger than store stuff but not excessively so).

Does hydrogen peroxide hurt your teeth?
I've been using a home remedy for tooth whitening, just swishing a bit of hydrogen peroxide (which has been working great!), but I'm wondering if the hydrogen peroxide is harmful for my teeth.
--------------------
absolutley NOT, this is a main ingrediant in all teeth whitners and also a bacteria cleaner. if anything your teeth will be whiter and cleaner and bacteria will be killed in the gum area as well....use hydrogen peroxide with baking soda, you will be amazed,,, dont use HP alone, wont do the job well

Does mouthwash whiten your teeth the slightest bit?
Im doing a science project on "Does mouthwash whiten your teeth?" what do you think? If so which mouthwash does whiten the most?
--------------------
what mouthwash does is kill the bacteria living in your teeth (it may make your teeth a little whiter) since it kills the bacteria, it prevents diseases such as gingivitus. since gingivitus can make your teeth yellow, then YES, mouthwash does help whiten your teeth

Last night my friend told me that I could whiten my teeth with baking soda, so I tried it and my teeth look a little better(They were pretty yellow...well at least to me they were). Now I want to know if I should use it everyday until I see the results or just once a week? Thanks!!
--------------------
Maybe not on every single day, but like on top of your regular toothpaste and use it until you get results???

What are some good toothpaste to ease the pain and whiten my teeth from braces?
Can anyone recomend me some toothpaste i can use to ease the pain of braces and the teeth? And what is Sensodyne toothpaste?
--------------------
Sensodyne toothpaste is just like any other toothpaste- I use it, and it's great for sensitive gums. You can pick up at any CVS or pharmacy. If you can't find that, try anything that says "Foor sensitive gums" on it, especially if it is a Crest product. Also, "Act" mouthwash is always a good idea. "Act" strengthens teeth. "Listerine" is good, too. As for whiteness, I suggest you do not use whiting strips until after the braces are removed. Once removed, I suggest Crest, because they work the best.

What is the best toothpaste that actually whitens teeth?
I tried everything!
--------------------
First thing, teeth are NOT NATURALLY BRIGHT WHITE! Natural variations in teeth color go from off white to yellowish white. Bright white is NOT natural. That being said... 'whitening' toothpastes work by being more abrasive than normal toothpaste and some contain varying forms of peroxide. Overuse of whitening toothpastes usually cause tooth sensitivity and sometimes weakening/thinning of the tooth enamel which will actually give your teeth a blue tinge. The whitening toothpastes will not do much to 'whiten' your teeth. They are more effective as a follow up to a whitening treatment. If you want the 'look at me I have really white, not natural' teeth look, go to a dentist and have a professional treatment. Lots of money. Try the at home whitening kits, from what I've seen if you have VERY straight teeth the 'whitening strips' that stick to your teeth work well. If your teeth aren't straight they don't work so well, go for the brush on or fill the tray type gels.

i think the dentists are overpriced too .. i would suggest buying crest products they seem to work pretty good... like crest 3d whitening toothpaste.... mouth wash and even the strips but you should see results with the toothpaste itself after you have used it for couple of weeks... just brush your teeth twice a day atleast ...

What and when can you eat after having teeth whitened?
Thank you
--------------------
That will depend on the sensitivity of your teeth. If your teeth do not feel sensitive at all, you can eat soft things like soft fruit and vegetables. Try to drink light coloured drinks so you don't undo your good work for a few days. After that, you should be ok to eat and drink as normal. It is always a good thing not to drink too much dark coloured liquids anyways. Hope this helps

What is a good way to whiten teeth that is cheap, easy, and not dangerous to health or teeth?
Please help me ! I need suggestions!
--------------------
There are some good whitening solutions for your teeth and they won't harm your teeth or your health. Kits with whitening strips or trays are good solution and you can do this at home. You can use this homemade mixture weekly and it works well. There are other options that are available through your dentist, too, but they do cost more.

What's the best way to whiten your teeth at home?
I don't feel like paying to get whiter teeth. I mean, they don't need to be paper white, but I'd like for them to lighten up a few shades. My teeth are usually pretty white, but I guess I've been drinking too much coffee. What can I do to make them whiter and stay white?
--------------------
cCest or Aquafresh whitening strips. You just leave them on over night, and it should help. Or, just use a whitening toothpaste. They have many different brands for the toothpaste, but mostly all of them work the same. The toothpaste will probably cost you $5.00 at most. And the whitening strips, probably $10.00 at most depending on the brand.

How to get my teeth white?
I cant afford to get them whitened at the dentist nor get a teeth whitening kit. can you please give me steps of what to do, what do use, and how to do it? if possible, kinda cheap? moneys an issue. this is a big deal for me! please and thank you?

You could try this cheap technique. I made a paste with bicarbonate of soda and a little bit of water and thoroughly brushed my teeth with it. My teeth felt really clean and great. I thought they looked petty good too. The next day a guy I know commented on how white my teeth looked. I was quite surprised because this is definitely not the normal conversation I have with people. I wasn't talking about teeth or grimacing and pointing at my little pearls or anything like that. So it's worth a try. You probably have some bicarb in your pantry right now. If not you can easily get bicarb from a supermarket. It's seriously cheap. If you don't think that the transformation is dramatic enough you can always use it to soak up nasty smells in the fridge or your sneakers. Bicarb is abrasive so I wouldn't do it every day - maybe once a week. I've read (forget where, magazine maybe - not a text book) that things like tea, coffee and red wine can stain your teeth. You could consider avoiding these things too.

How exactly do I use Baking soda to whiten my teeth?
ok, im the morning i rush to brush my teeth because im late :p . i do brush day and night, but i can see a difference in my teeth's color since i have been being late. i was wondering, how exactly do i use baking soda to whiten my teeth. and please give me direct answers. i really need to stop being late. and if any other advice other than the ones you can buy at the store are helpful also. Thanks for your help, i would really appreciate it. :)

It's easy - just wet your toothbrush, add a little toothpaste, and then sprinkle with some baking soda. Brush your teeth as normal - try to do it for two minutes, twice a day. The baking soda helps buff away some of the surface stains on your teeth. One easy way to prevent some of the stains from forming is to stop drinking dark beverages like Coke, Pepsi, and coffee, or to drink them with a straw.

Is there a way to whiten my teeth at home WITHOUT using hydrogen peroxide?
I want to have whiter teeth before i start school again in the fall, and i don't have the money to go to the dentist. I want to whiten them at home, and all the websites say to use hydrogen peroxide, but i don't want to because it might have side effects. (don't say that there are none...) I just want to know if there's anything else i could use that might be a little less strong. Thanks! (:
--------------------
Here's the thing. The side effects of hydrogen peroxide are relevant when you're using it abusively. Therefore, covering your teeth twice a day with a low dose for two weeks is not supposed to induce any bad side effect except in very rare cases. You might feel more sensitive for a little while, though, but it is not permanent and you can stop the treatment at any time. Don't worry. There is nothing dangerous with those DIY kits.

just got my braces off when should i start whitening?
I plan on whitening my teeth, using the strips like crest whitening strips or whatever, i just got my braces off an hour ago- does it matter when i start whitening? should i let my teeth get adjusted first cause they're sensitive or does it matter?
--------------------
It is not necessary to wait before whitening your teeth. They will likely become sensitive the more you whiten them, not due to braces, but the process itself.

would whitening my teeth make decalcification spots worse????????????
i have had this white spot on my tooth since i was very little ..as long as i can remember, i recently just got my braces off and the spot looks worse. it is very bright white color and i was wondering if i use whitening strips ,will it make the spot worse or would it help it all blend in ? it horrible getting braces off and not wanting to smile because of it :(. please help
--------------------
Yes those white decalcification spots will just get WHITER and it still won't match up with the rest of your teeth. It is a bad idea to whiten your teeth if you have white spots. This is why you should have brushed and flossed regularly with braces on. Now you suffer the consequences of having decalcification spots. Sorry but it's the harsh reality of not taking care of your teeth.

When They Whiten Your Teeth Do They Make Your Gums Pinker?
I just got my braces out and they're going to whiten your teeth. I was just wondering if you have black gums, will they get pinker.
--------------------
No, they actually put some protective stuff on your gums so that the irritating solution to whiten doesn't get on them. Your gums arn't touched, basically. If you have black spots, thats just because you do! Some people do! You know, like how a dog can have diferent spots in his mouth, kinda like that, except probably less common.

Can you wear whitening trays when having permanate retainers?
Im getting my braces off in a week, and I'm wondering how i can whiten my teeth. I want to purchase the CVS whitening trays, but im wondering if you have permanate retainers, can you still put the trays on... Thanks!!!
--------------------
Probably not, the retainers will be in the way. Besides you wouldn't want to have darker areas where the retainers are touching and/or blocking your teeth.
