Why wont my teeth whiten?

I tried evrything and i brush my teeth 3 times a day(morning before school, after dinner, and b4 i go to bed) i also use the blue light thing like evry week but it only whitens it a little for like 2 days then it goes back to normal, i also floss everyday..so what should i do? I also have perfect teeth because i had braces b4
--------------------
the same thing is happening to me right now. i try to keep my teeth perfet too and it still doesn't seem white. but ive had many people tell me i had very white teeth. ive even asked people i knew who haven't commented and they said they were very white. your teeth are probably really white too, it just doesn't seem that way to you. i don't know why but it was the same for me.

Can we brush our teeth with baking soda to whiten them? Or is it harmful?

I washed a few things with baking soda and it cleans sparkling well, so I thought why cant I brush my teeth with baking soda. Can i brush my teeth with just baking soda and water, or could it be harmful for my teeth or gums?
--------------------
Baking soda is an abrasive. Therefore, using it too much will result in hypersensitive teeth. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article…

Can i whiten my teeth by brushing them a lot?

Ok i guess what im asking is will my teeth be whiter if i brush correctly with an electric toothbrush for like an hour straight, reapplying toothpaste every couple minutes. is that a bad idea? like could it damage my teeth or something and no i dont have sensitive teeth, cavities or crowns or anything like that
--------------------
That probably wouldnt be the best idea. But if you want an inexpensive way to whiten your teeth, you can use baking soda to brush your teeth, for about 5 minutes. It doesnt taste very good but it works. Just dont di it too often as it can wear your enamel off. Or you can use hydrogen peroxide (the 3% one from drug stores) and swish it in your mouth. Again, it tastes weird but it works! And this one you can use daily, which I do as a mouthwash. The hydrogen peroxide may burn your gums a little bit if they are sensitive, like for me, but I just dilute it a bit with water and its fine. And, you can mix baking soda with hydrogen peroxide and use that paste to brush. When I did this I saw results pretty quickly.

where can i buy hydrogen peroxide to whiten my teeth in the UK? and what percentage should i look for?

people say i should look for 3%, but crest whitening strips have 10% hydrogen peroxide in them? please help someone!!!
--------------------
I used to buy H. Peroxide at an ordinary chemist here in London, the old fashion chemist, I don't think the big chain pharmacy will sell it. The chemist I used to buy it from used to sell it "by the quantity" what I mean is he asked me to bring the empty bottle or to buy an empty bottle from him. He used to have the solution at 10% but I used to ask him to dilute it down to 3% by adding purified water. For your teeth start at 3% and try few times, if no problem it seem you can go up to 10%. Be careful with your gums as the peroxide will "burn" a bit on the gums. I have only tried a few times and didn't see any result. I can't tell you if it is safe practise. I also found this on the web, but try to search more and read to get a better idea. http://hubpages.com/hub/Hydrogen-Peroxid…

In the Uk theres new stuff called safe n white, which is meant to be less harsh, no peroxide etc and gentle on gums. Can dentists whiten our teeth?

I need to whiten my teeth. I brush my teeth 4times a day. but somehow its getting yellow-er. Can dentists whiten our teeth? I mean do they do that? and does it work? how much do they usually charge?
--------------------
yes, and they can also tell you what food and drinks you should avoid in order to have white teeth. you know, it doesn't depend only on how often you brush your teeth or what means you use. the reasons might be much deeper, i.e. specific disease. i'm not trying to scare you, but that a possibility.

If you have had your teeth laser whitened?

What did you think of the results?
--------------------
The results are very good, but some have hypersensitivity requiring pain medications to be administered and the brightness or whiter shade will fade over a year requiring you to do it over again. Talk with your dentist, I've always recommend using the custom made dental bleaching trays with solutions. You use these for a few weeks getting to the desired shade, then just touch up every few months. The trays will last for years and years with the only additional cost being that of purchasing more bleaching solution. It would take probably five or more years of tray use to cost as much as one laser treatment. Yes, I've tried it myself and wasn't really satisfied with the results. I have been using my dental bleaching trays for well over ten years, maybe closer to fifteen years now and I still believe they are the best dental bleaching treatment for the least cost and best result. Additional information: There are some patients who achieve beautiful results with the various in office bleaching treatments such as Zoom or Brite Smile, but there are some patients who don't do as well. Not everyone has the same teeth or beginning shade, some may need the in office treatment repeated and possibly may need bleaching trays and solution to take home. This is a common problem since the results are not known until the bleaching process is completed. This is usually indicated by the patient who is dissatisfied with the brightness or whiteness after the whitening process is completed. My point being, is that using dental bleaching trays at home with various strengths of solutions available, allows the patient and their dentist to see the effects and judge their brightness while safely reaching the desired ending shade. Another factor is being able to enjoy any foods or drinks knowing they can touch up any staining that may occur. The trays are a more affordable, have the same end shade results, offer less sensitivity due to patients determining how long to wear them and last for years with the only added cost incurred being for more bleaching solution. No one can argue with the fact that once you've paid for your in office bleaching, your done, unless your unhappy that minute and your dentist gives you another treatment for free or gives you the trays and solution anyway. There just aren't any repeats a year or two down the road when you notice the shade darkening. Most of us who use the trays prefer them for convenience, desired results and cost. The choice is up to the patient but I've always told them that they should be prepared to do the bleaching process again in about a year. Most patients want the instant satisfaction, the trays do take a few minutes to an hour each day for about two weeks but they are a better value and last much longer. I always say it's up to the patient what amount of time they have and amount of money they want to pay; you have no greater critic than the person who looks back at you in the mirror. I hope you will do some research on this topic and also discuss these two treatments with your dentist. Good luck!

What is a very good quality home whitening system?

I've used whitestrips, they are gooey and leave white dots on my gums. I've used bleaching wands that you brush on before bed that seem to work alright but not as well as I'd like! I've also used the Rembrandt extreme 2 hour whitening which hurt like hell. Any recommendations of maybe a tray system I could use overnight or something you've tried that you really like? My teeth are really only a little stained from coffee but I want to have a bright smile because my teeth and smile are very important in my field of work. Thanks so much in advance!
--------------------
Well let me give you the best type, but first let me explain the different types of bleaching systems: There's the office bleaching, and this type you do in a dentist's clinic, and it is a one visit procedure, which means you come out of the dentst's office and you're done, but this type is very expensive, and causes some sensitivity later to some people. Then there's the home bleaching, in this type you go to a dentist and he/she takes an impression of your teeth and constructs you a custom tray made only for you, you take that home and apply a whitening jel he/she provides, and you put the tray on for 6 hours then brush your teeth. This technique takes a longer time for effect (around 2 weeks), but it is very safe and causes you no sensitivity at all. So i would recommend that you go with the home bleacing.

how many times should you use baking soda to whiten your teeth a week?

How many times a week should you do it?
--------------------
Twice, doing it too much will ruin the outer covering on your teeth!
Source

what items in the home will whiten my teeth?

items that you would find in an average home!
--------------------
Baking soda, is good, but you have to be real careful. You don't want to scrub off your enamel, that's the outer coating on your teeth. That would make them much more likely to get infected in the future. But doing it once in a while shouldn't be too back. Just don't scrub for too long.

How do I whiten my teeth?

Okay I am 13 and my mom won't let me get crest white strips, or a treatment. I've tried baking soda I've switched toothpastes. What more can I do? I brush them 2 times a day (I would 3 but I have school and like no free time). If you have any suggestions it would REALLY help!
--------------------
Less sugary foods, no sodas, whitening gum, keep up with the paste, listerine whitening mouthwash.

Can having incredibly white teeth mask having an overbite?

I have always had a slight overbite, it's not very bad. The only problem is that it makes my front teeth look larger than they really are which really bothers me. I hardly ever smile because I'm so self conscious about how my teeth look. I was just wondering if maybe whitening my smile could somehow make my overbite less noticeable in any way?
--------------------
ya it makes it not as bad i had one too and i got braces maybe you should try gettn braces

How can I whiten my teeth?

I don't smoke, but drink quite a lot coffee and tea, so it's not that easy. Any miracle toothpaste or other advice?
--------------------
Crest vivid white tooth paste or colgate pro clinical. I have been using the crest vivid white for about 7 years and it keeps my teeth white. Crest whitening strips also work well. I use the whitening strips a couple times a year for a touch up. There are Mouth rinses that also help with whitening the teeth. The whitening strips cause some people sensitivity, so use them carefully. If you still are not satisfied with the results, then contact your dentist and tell them you want to whiten your teeth.
