What did you think of the results?
--------------------
The results are very good, but some have hypersensitivity requiring pain medications to be administered and the brightness or whiter shade will fade over a year requiring you to do it over again. Talk with your dentist, I've always recommend using the custom made dental bleaching trays with solutions. You use these for a few weeks getting to the desired shade, then just touch up every few months. The trays will last for years and years with the only additional cost being that of purchasing more bleaching solution. It would take probably five or more years of tray use to cost as much as one laser treatment. Yes, I've tried it myself and wasn't really satisfied with the results. I have been using my dental bleaching trays for well over ten years, maybe closer to fifteen years now and I still believe they are the best dental bleaching treatment for the least cost and best result. Additional information: There are some patients who achieve beautiful results with the various in office bleaching treatments such as Zoom or Brite Smile, but there are some patients who don't do as well. Not everyone has the same teeth or beginning shade, some may need the in office treatment repeated and possibly may need bleaching trays and solution to take home. This is a common problem since the results are not known until the bleaching process is completed. This is usually indicated by the patient who is dissatisfied with the brightness or whiteness after the whitening process is completed. My point being, is that using dental bleaching trays at home with various strengths of solutions available, allows the patient and their dentist to see the effects and judge their brightness while safely reaching the desired ending shade. Another factor is being able to enjoy any foods or drinks knowing they can touch up any staining that may occur. The trays are a more affordable, have the same end shade results, offer less sensitivity due to patients determining how long to wear them and last for years with the only added cost incurred being for more bleaching solution. No one can argue with the fact that once you've paid for your in office bleaching, your done, unless your unhappy that minute and your dentist gives you another treatment for free or gives you the trays and solution anyway. There just aren't any repeats a year or two down the road when you notice the shade darkening. Most of us who use the trays prefer them for convenience, desired results and cost. The choice is up to the patient but I've always told them that they should be prepared to do the bleaching process again in about a year. Most patients want the instant satisfaction, the trays do take a few minutes to an hour each day for about two weeks but they are a better value and last much longer. I always say it's up to the patient what amount of time they have and amount of money they want to pay; you have no greater critic than the person who looks back at you in the mirror. I hope you will do some research on this topic and also discuss these two treatments with your dentist. Good luck!
