I am getting it done in the middle of January and wanted to hear some feedback.

Hi have been using Zoom whitening on my patients for the past 4 years and have seen good results although the results vary from patient to patient. The Zoom light has been superseded three times and I am now using the Zoom Advanced Whitening Light which I find is much better than the previous two. I have seen colour changes from 6 to 15 shades. Any whitening process dehydrates your teeth which is where the sensitivity starts. Not everyone gets sensitivity but usually if a person does experience sensitivity with Zoom it lasts for around 12 hours. The type of teeth that don't bleach very well are very dense dark yellow teeth or tetracycline stained teeth. Most other types of teeth whiten well. For dehydration I suggest that my patients drink lots of water after the process and I also give them a product called tooth mousse which floods the teeth with calcium and phosphates and helps reduce any sensitivity. I also provide them with take home trays and a tube of bleach for maintainance. I suggest that they use the home trays for one hour once a month to keep the colour maintained.

You should go to a dentist to see if you have a genetic disorder that reduces enamel hardness. You might want to use more fluoride in addition to your fluoridated toothpaste to help strengthen and protect your teeth. ACT is pretty good. If you just want to stick with fluoridated toothpaste, Crest ProHealth is good. Your dentist may prescribe something stronger too. As far as the whitening, you can use whitening products but just don't leave them on too long or you might develop highly sensitive teeth. Also, if you overuse whitening products, your teeth can turn blue, much like over bleaching white laundry.

it is better to use natural options! for example this product - I do not know if any pharmacies carry it but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and if you want you can read more about the product here http://www.teethwhiten.com/splash.php?ai before I had no idea that it is possible to whiten my teeth without surgically bleaching them. I tried this product for a few days and they got whiter & brighter so quick that I was shocked. The best thing about this teeth whitening product is that its so easy to use. It only takes me a few minutes twice a day for a few days and then there white for months. I suggest to try this product because at this moment they have Risk Free Trial - so they send you sample for free and you don't have to buy it!

How long does it take to see results if you use hydrogen peroxide and baking powder to brush your teeth on a daily basis? Thanks.

Question for you. If baking powder and peroxide works so well, why is teeth whitening products a multi-billion dollar business? Spend some money and do it right. Don't risk damaging your teeth. In my office I charge $99.00 for teeth whitening.

Crest whitening strips damage teeth?
I bought these crest whitening strips that last 7 days. And have been feeling a lot of pain, i dont know if they are literally dissolving my teeth. or my teeth are just being sensitive but, can they damage my enamel even though the box says enamel safe? and are these pains usually permanant?
--------------------
no, the pains you're having are completely normal. you're probably just a little sensitive to the product, and it happens to most people. since you have the ones that are for 7 days, its stronger, so its going to hurt more than someone using a 14 day kit. the pains usually go away after 2-3 days.by the way, they clean under the enamel, so it doesn't damage your teeth. edit: don't listen to what attractxox said, i asked my dentist right before i started using them if they were safe, and he said he recommends them to most patients. however, if you are feeling discomfort after 3 days, start using them every other day, or discontinue use and see your dentist. happy whitening!

Anyone know a simple/cheap/effective way of teeth whitening? ?
besides going to the dentist to have my teeth done.
--------------------
There are several types of at-home teeth whitening methods, that are cheaper then the dentist, but might be less effective. There is toothpaste, there are strips, and there are trays with gel. I suggest you compare the prices and effectiveness of these methods. You can read about it here: http://the-dental-makeover.com/whiten-te

Any ideas for teeth whitening without going to the dentist and not buying those strips?
Now I know on this people have said to use the strips and different tooth pastes and all, but this is not what I am asking for. I love tea, coffee, candy, and everything else that stains my teeth. I am not looking for someone to tell me what I should and shouldn't eat and what I should and shouldn't buy. Does anyone know any home remedies to whiten my teeth? Please don't tell me I need to stop doing what I am doing, I know what I have to do to stop staining my teeth, but does anyone have recipes of things like baking soda and lemon juice or things like that to whiten my teeth, and how often I should do it? And once again don't go and tell me about my eating habits and all, I just want the answer, I don't want to have to report people. Thanks in advance! Bye!

Um, you've named everything you can possibly do to whiten them....there aren't any miracles that whiten your teeth... But there are these things called gosmile. They knock off the stains before they adhere to your teeth and they whiten too. Maybe you should check them out. I ordered mine from Sephora. You can probably find them somewhere online too. BTW they're little ampules, and they don't make your teeth sensitive like the strips....I hate those.

having white teeth can entirely change your life. having a nice and bright smile can bring many friends and you can become very open and confident socially, but consulting a dental expert is the best thing you can do to be able to start restoring white teeth. he might be able to suggest a good, effective and safe teeth whitening treatments that is suitable to for your teeth. next is be able to distinguish the foods that can stain your teeth and the beverages you take in that can promote tooth stain like colas, coffee, tea, chocolates and sauces. be able to refrain from taking them and if not, you can always do proper brushing and flossing to remove the stains on your teeth after a meal. for more tips visit about getting whiter teeth visit http://www.trustedhealthproducts.com

anyone here ever get laser teeth whitening done?
What's the basic price? Is it quick? Did you get the SUPER white? How long before they start to dullen up again?
--------------------
first of all you should know that it is not lasers. its just some frequency of light spectrum. and remember this fact in dentistry faster procedures are more aggressive and more dangerous so i dont offer you this kind of bleaching . ask your doctor to make you a tray and give you a home bleaching kit. the results are the same . only it takes more time to whiten your teeth. but in some circumstances such as if you are in a hurry(for example its your wedding in a week or...) its possible for you to do that only if all of your teeth and your gum are healthy because office bleaching can cause tooth sensitivity.

Will a teeth whitening procedure last?
So I haven't had the best teeth. Infact, I'm a little embarrassed of them and wish I could improve their colour (they're slightly yellowish... and it turns out that's my "natural" colour and not some stains you can remove with teeth cleaning). My local dentist does teeth bleaching for around $375, but only said that it lasts 6 months to a year. Do these procedures typically last that long? What other alternatives do I have that actually work (like strips, do they make a difference)? I'm kind of desperate at this point, sigh, but don't know if I'm willing to pay so much for such a short-term thing =/ Any help will do.
--------------------
The over the counter bleaching strips do help some people. It may take more than one box to get a "decent" amount of change in your color. I think what the dentist may mean is that you might need a touch-up now and then after you bleach. I'm not sure if he is using an at-home tray system for you or doing the bleaching all in his office. If its an at home tray system, all you need to do is buy extra bleach and wear your trays once a month or so. Most bleaching will last longer than a year, in fact I doubt your enamel color will darken to its original color. If it does it should take longer than a year. We use something in our office called deep bleaching. It is a combination of 2 in office sessions and 1 (2 week) at home bleaching tray session. We have had great success with it and it is supposed to be permanent if followed correctly.

What is the best at home teeth whitening?
I am looking for something I can buy at the store or even like on the home shopping network?!? or something, to whiten my teeth as much as possible. PLEASE NO SPAMMERS please do not answer "i don't know" or say i need to have it professionally done, i know that, i know i can't get zoom whitening results at home, but i am sure there is a product someone has used and gotten good results. and i am in the US (texas to be exact). I have used various whiteners from the tooth paste like Crest and Colgate etc. I personally like Peroxi-Care from Arm and Hammer. My mouth feels clean, it does remove plaque, fresh breath, (great for kisser lovers) whitens teeth (your priority number one) does have fluoride, and it doesn't feel like using sandpaper so it low on abrasive powers. I sound like a commercial but consider all option here and maybe one will stick lol. Have a nice Texas day. It's getting closer to enjoying the warmer cruising weather here. Yeaaaaa! (of course regular use does help between the dentist work...)

Do teeth whitening products such as crest white strips damage tooth enamel?
Or are there any negative effect of using these product? thanks 4 the help

it may damage teeth but there are no long term studies on these products because they have just come out. Teeth are NOT supposed to be white. Teeth are naturally off-white/ ivory colored. So just keep your teeth clean and dont use all of the whitening hype products.

What is the BEST over the counter teeth whitening product out right now?
Well, I quit smoking about 7 or 8 months ago, and now that I know I am done for good! (its literally been that long since ive had a cig) I want to whiten my teeth. I don't really want to do the whole dental laser whitening (mostly bc im not looking to spend hundreds on it, since I just had a baby) but in the mean time, what is the best OTC whitening product! When you tell me which one is the best, please also answer these questions if you will: Have you yourself used it? if so, how long did it take before you noticed a difference? how many shades do you think it lightened? how long did total time take (days, weeks, etc) Any and all help is greatly appreciated and i will be picking a best answer! :) Thanks In Advance! :)

FYI, baking soda has the abrasive qualities to effectively remove some surface stains. It won't work for stains within the deeper layers of the enamel. however. For this a bleaching agent, as is found in Crest White strips is needed,

Whitening teeth with peroxide?
The package of crest white strips says it uses hydrogen peroxide as the main active ingredient. does anyone know another way that i can use peroxide to whiten my teeth, without it tasting unbearably disgusting?
--------------------
It's a good idea to dilute it when you do it It's going to taste disgusting, but if you mix it with baking soda and kind of make a paste and then use it like toothpaste, it works pretty well. Good luck!

I drink way too much coffee and started to get stressed out when they weren't as white anymore. I was going to go the dentist to have him do it but it was ridiculously expensive. So I looked for forever and I finally found a kit that's just like the one the dentist uses with the mold and injection. It works amazing and I'm glad I didn't have the dentist do it. I got it on sale too because they were having a trial where you get to try it for the cost of shipping for like 6 bucks. I don't know if it's still on sale but here's the website. http://mywhiterteeth.info
