Whitening Teeth Questions?

1.Do whitening strips make your teeth healthier or just appear healthy? 2.Is there a kind of whitening strips that are like "hard" not the plastic-y ones? like a retainer type one? and about how much do they cost? 3.What other ways can i make my teeth whiter besides whitening strips?I want to do all the possible ways. thank you<33
--------------------
Hi there, The whitening strips can make your teeth more sensitive, we always recommend using a sensitive toothpaste when whitening. Hmm, I know that at the dentist office they can make custom trays for you that are a little more less plastic-y than the ones that are store bought and they also fit your mouth better. I think the cost is around $360 for both trays. Other ways to get them whiter or keep them whiter... Try not to drink coffee or smoke... those are the most common things that make your teeth darker... I hope that helps a little bit.

Where to find a good place to get your teeth whitened?

Im looking to get my teeth whitened, but I dont have insurence. So how can I find a Dentist in Las Vegas NV?
--------------------
I work in a dentist office and if you want to save some money this is what I did. I ordered some free trial offers over the net and then I bought some whitening toothpaste to maintain the results. My teeth are just as white as the people who get their teeth whitened in our office.

Help whitening teeth?

I have a rare dental condition called dentinagenesis imperfecta or something like that which runs in my family. My baby teeth were brown (yuck, I know) and my adult teeth are much better. However, they're still not as white as I'd like them to be, and they're pretty dull looking. I brush my teeth 3 times a day with a whitening toothpaste and use Listerine Pre Brush Rinse. I think that it might help a tad, but I'm not really sure. Would Crest White Strips work on my teeth? What about one of those laser whitening things? My sister and father both got veneers, but my teeth aren't as bad, and they're expensive and hard to maintain. Help please!!!!!!!!
--------------------
What I do is I have a tiny plate where I put baking soda on. So when I brush my teeth I dab my toothbrush in the baking soda and than I put on the toothpaste (make sure your toothbrush is wet before dabbing the baking soda). Then I brush my teeth for 3 minutes exactly. Instead of spitting it out right away take some mouth wash and rinse your mouth with the toothpaste and everything. Than you spit it out. Then I take the toothbrush and rinse it and dab it in the baking soda again. I brush my teeth for two minutes with plain baking soda. (It might taste funny but its sooo worth it) Then I rinse with mouth wash again. I finally take the mouth wash and rinse with nothing in my mouth. Than I floss. My teeth were 3 shades whiter in the first 7 days I used baking soda in my teeth-brushing routine. BTW, I suggest not having a lot of soda in your diet because its not good for your teeth. DONT DRINK OR EAT ANYTHING FOR THE NEXT HOUR. The thing is, baking soda fights stains in a TOUGH way, it also kills germs and leaves your breath smelling great, GERM-FREE. Hope this helped. I deeply wiish you luck with this method. I love how you didnt lose your confidence with this rare dental condition. Stay strong. God bless you and your family. I wish you success with healthy white smile. :)

If I want to get my teeth whitened, can the dentist redo a tooth colored filling to match the new color?

I am interested in getting my teeth whitened. However, I have a few filling on the front of my 2 top middle teeth that are tooth colored. However, if I get my teeth whitened, the fillings will be mismatched to the new color. Does anyone know if the dentist would be able to correct this? How would he go about it? Any idea on the range of how much it would cost to replace a single filling? Thank you=o)
--------------------
A dentist can change the color it's just like placing a filling nothing different is done, they'll be very willing to do it for you. they'll do the same thing they did to place the fillings, as far as cost goes it's different for every dentist. Some charge a reduced fee others will charge you what they normally charge to get a filling. if you have insurance it may cover part of the cost. ask ahead of time. dentist fees vary greatly from state to state city to city even neighborhood to neighborhood

--------------------
You could use White Strips, but you will notice increased sensitivity to cold. This will go away shortly. Good Luck

Is using all these teeth whitening products harmful to my teeth/mouth?

Do all of thse products work well? http://rembrandt.com/toothpaste.jsp http://rembrandt.com/treatments-whitenin… http://www.crest.com/crestrinses/whiteni…
--------------------
Over a period of time it can be because our teeth have enamel on them to protect each of the nerves in your teeth, prolonged use of them can result in very sensitive teeth. use the whitening toothpaste, its not as bad as whitening strips and the gel stuff.

How do i stop my teeth from coming out?

I'm 15 years old, and I'm starting to get yellow teeth, it feels as if my teeth are getting wobbly, and I'm scared that I'm going to get dentures soon. I brush twice a day and sometimes put the teeth whitening trays. I'm so scared that my teeth are going to come out, is there anything i can do to keep my teeth in? Please if anyone can help. Thanks.
--------------------
Its not your teeth, its because your gums are not holding them in. Do you get your teeth cleaned twice a year. You must get the tartar scraped off, or it builds between the gum and the tooth. Making it loose. The dentist is the only one that can help you. Also, you do not want to get dentures too early in life. They tend to grind down the bone and by the time you are old, there is no ridge left for them to sit on. The thing about teeth is... You go to the dentist regularly, it costs a little and involves little pain. OR you go infrequently..and it costs big money w/ lots of pain. YOU CANNOT WIN

How do you whiten teeth naturally?

a natural way of whitening slightly yellow teeth at home and any other way other than brushing twice daily? Also, if you do have a solution then please also state the time for which it has to be used with your answer.... Any help is appreciated!
--------------------
Well first I would suggest not using whitening strips. They're not worth it, as they're more expensive and make your gums sensitive, when there's easier solutions. There's two highly recommended ways you can naturally whiten your teeth; baking soda or peroxide.I've never tried the baking soda method but I use peroxide. Peroxide is that brown bottle you use to clean cuts and what not, you can get for like a buck anywhere that has first aid products. In fact, it's actually the whitening ingredient in teeth whiteners. What I do is at night after I brush my teeth, I take half a capful of mouth wash (nonalcoholic) and a capful of the peroxide.. mix them and switch it in my mouth for a minute or two. Rinse out your mouth. I perfer to do this at night because it gives more time for the peroxide to set in rather than doing it in the morning then having it come off from eating.

WHITENING TEETH - what should i use?

im trying to whiten my teeth, i smoke socailly, so its not like a pack a day or any of that...if anything a pack a week MAYBE and its not every week...ive done SOME research and found crest whitening strips will help whiten your teeth a lot, but im worried that my teeth will become weak and lose a lot of its enamle which i understand thats what happens...i found that if i buy arm and hammer age defying toothpaste that will naturally build my enamle back so my teeth stay strong and the white strips keep them white...is this true or does anyone have any advice that has helped them!?
--------------------
You are right. That toothpaste works because it contains baking soda, which is a mild abrasive that literally scrapes the stains off. It also can raise your blood pressure because it contains a lot of salt. Try Crest White Strips.

Is it OK to use baking soda to whiten your teeth when you have braces?

I heard that you can use baking soda to whiten your teeth. I was going to try it, but I have braces right now. I know your not supposed to use most bleach/whitening treatments while you have braces, so should I wait until I get my braces off before I try it?
--------------------
I wouldnt try any extreme bleachig methods (such as baking soda) without the supervision of your ortho....and if you ignore your ortho...i wouldnt try anything still because it could actually remove the enamel in the places that are not underneath the bracket...so when you get the bracket off you are left with a big, obvious stained square in the middle of your teeth - not pretty

Polanight teeth whitening help needed please!?

I've been given Polanight 16% by my dentist who told me to use it overnight for 14 days. I have used it 6 times now and my teeth are now so sensitive I'm not sure whether to keep doing it. Also, only the bottom half of my teeth have changed colour, is this normal, will the whole of the tooth gradually change? Not sure if I'm using too much or too little gel, dentist was a bit vague! How to whiten your teeth?

Are there any teeth whitening treatments I can use to whiten my teeth? I know about Crest whitestrips, but are those safe? I've heard they can be bad for your teeth, or they don't work at all.

WHITENING TEETH?!!!!!!!!!?

i brush everyday. drink 5 glasses of milk a day. use baking soda toothpaste, don't really like whitening teeth, its too much money. what can i do ?
--------------------
Step1 Brush and floss regularly to reduce or prevent stains. Step2 Try whitening toothpastes. Though heavily advertised, these only partially whiten teeth and don't provide a complete remedy. Make sure the toothpaste has the American Dental Association (ADA) seal of approval and has been clinically proved to whiten teeth effectively. Very few whitening toothpastes have undergone any type of clinical trial, and ones that are too abrasive can damage teeth or make them very sensitive. Step3 Get regular dental cleanings, which remove many food and tobacco stains. No amount of cleaning will remove the severe staining left by tetracycline or systemic disease because these pigments lie inside the tooth; you'll have to take more aggressive measures against these. Step4 Consider the two options, in-office and at-home treatments, for bleaching your teeth. A dentist performs in-office treatments by coating the teeth with a bleaching agent, then using periodic flashes of light to activate the solution. Treatments last 30 to 60 minutes, and the complete procedure often requires several appointments. In at-home treatments, patients wear a mouth guard fitted with bleaching gel 2 hours a day for two weeks, depending on the severity of staining. Step5 Think about getting veneers, which are custom-made shells bonded to the teeth with resins. This procedure often requires removing a small amount of tooth structure and is the most invasive, as well as the most expensive, treatment option. Or you can try some teeth whitening product. This one is good. http://www.teethwhiten.com/?aid=463455

whats the best whitening product and cheapest for you teeth?

i am getting really yellow teeth and i was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for white strips or anything else that is cheap!!!! and quick results
--------------------
Overall I would say that most of my patient's have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips, some more than others. Our office uses Crest Supreme which are much stronger than what you can buy in a drugstore and don't cost that much more ($60.00 vs $30.00). You can purchase the drugstore version, but do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar or plaque) will impede their ability to work. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). The strips are probably your best low price alternative, much less than in office whitening or custom trays (about $500.00). Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. Whatever method you use it will not whiten your teeth for life, as you age your teeth will get darker and may need to be whitened again. You should see results within the first week if not sooner. Good luck! JAMRDH - a dental hygienist

What teeth whitening product?

Actually works?? I want my teeth REALLY white! And just got braces off :-/ So please help?!. Thanks in advance :)
--------------------
i had the same problem with yellowish teeth and i found this product is very effective and very cheap http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com/ i use it on a regular basis and it keeps my teeth white and looking great. It only costs about $30 AUD including the tray for you teeth and a couple of syringes with the gel, Which is cheap compared to the dentist. I put my trays in about twice a week for an hour each and you can notice the difference straight away. I also use it before i have a special occasion and take it out right before i leave. I get lots of compliments on my white teeth which is great. they're also very straight which helps, lol once i had a friends mum ask me if I've been 'sucking on bleach'. haha she was over-exaggerating but you can definitely notice the before and after difference. It doesn't hurt your teeth it just feels a little uncomfortable with the tray in your mouth. I asked around heeps before buying any products and i compared prices, at one stage i was going to go to the dentist and get it professionally done but im sooo glad i tried this out. Ive actually ordered it twice within the past year and am using my second lot now. Also use teeth whitening toothpaste and brush your teeth at least twice a day, if you eat meals at home always brush your teeth after woulds to keep any stains of. And of course avoid coffee and coke if you really want to maintain your pearly whites :)

Anyone had their teeth professionally whitened by a dentist?

My teeth arent yellow or anything, Id just like them to be whiter or a little brighter... but Im tired of using whitening products. With my busy life I dont have time to sit with those things on and I hardly remember. How much does it cost? How long does it take? And what are the pros and cons of having it done professionally at the dentist's office rather than using the over the counter crap that takes forever.
--------------------
Many are choosing professional teeth whitening, having it done by their dentist, as the best possible option. This is more expensive but guarantees a safe, fast and expertly done process that will result in evenly done white teeth. The process is done faster by a dentist; who can whiten your teeth using a process that takes forty five minutes to complete. This process is done in three fifteen minute sessions. By the end of the forty five minutes the dentist will have whitened their patient's teeth by eight to ten shades. Depending on how stained the patient's teeth are this will be a substantial improvement. These benefits and more are what a patient gets by getting their treatment at their dentist's office. The dentist will use a gel that is put on the patient's teeth. There is protection provided to the gums and lips so that the gel will not adversely affect them. As well, unlike the at home kits that can be used, if a person has the treatment done in the dentist's office they will see results immediately. When they leave the dentist's office their teeth will be whiter. At home kits take days and sometimes even weeks to complete the treatment process and so show their results slowly. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.…

ANY TEETH WHITENING PRODUCTS OR REMEDIES!?!?

do you know of any remedies or products THAT ACTUALLY WORK!!? im desperate to get whiter teeth! PLEASE!!!
--------------------
I use AltaWhite teeth whitener. It's great because it only takes 1 minute to work - unlike those gels and strips which take much longer to see any results. I'd recommend just requesting a sample from their site to see if this works for you. You just have to pay for the shipping and handling. Its always better to try before you buy and I am sure it will work for everyone including you.
