ok so i still have a few brackets on so i cant do strips or anything at the moment. i also don't want anything TOO extreme because i don't want spots from where my braces are. so what are some at home things i can do (like baking soda and whatnot) that can give me a little bit of a brighten?

How long will it take my teeth to whiten if I brush my teeth once daily with a baking soda/water paste?
Ok I read yesterday that a baking soda and water paste will help whiten my teeth if I brush them with the paste once a day. How long till I see results? And do I keep using my usual toothpaste as well or stop using it?

I think the best thing to do is to brush 3 or more times a day ( even after every meal is good)This way the food that gets stuck in your teeth gets brushed out and doesn't end up creating a cavity or worse, staining. Brushing your teeth with baking soda is ok. but don't do it more that one or two times a week. Think of the baking soda as an acidic chemical. It might make something shiny or nice if you use it every once in a while, but if you use it too much it starts eating away a what ever it is (in your case the tooth's enamel.) Ive been brushing like this frequently and using backing soda every once in a while and it really makes a difference. My friends are constantly telling me that my teeth are really white. I hope this helps. =)

Whitening my teeth, Home remedy?
I have hydrogen peroxide but someone told me it was dangerous and not worth the risk. I don't have baking soda, and I'm totally broke. I don't have strawberries either? Does anyone have any good home remedies that I can make to whiten my yellow teeth (gross, I know). Thank You! :D

I used two whole boxes of crest whitestrips advanced seal in one month, and I did see a difference of about 5-8 shades. my teeth were pretty bad off because I had neglected to brush them as a child. they aren't as white as I'd like them to be, more of an off-white, but I have braces right now so it doesn't matter too much. but they are definitely a heck of a lot brighter than they used to be. I used them back in august, and the color is still the same, so I'd say the effects last.

ok, so i've been researching and trying to make my teeth whiter. When growing up I used to use on my teeth and it would really whiten. It used to advertise teeth whitening on the box. It no longer advertises that its use is for whitening teeth and Im wondering if its because its not good for your teeth.

It is very good for your teeth and gums, but.. to abrasive to use daily, used once or twice a week to help help tremendously to remove stains and plaqe is fine, It does make a great mouthwash that can be used daily(1/2 tsp mixed with 5 oz water. it may not taste minty, but it removes odors!

Overall I would say that most of my patient's have had some measure of success with the Crest Whitestrips, some more than others. Our office uses Crest Supreme which are much stronger than what you can buy in a drugstore and don't cost that much more ($60.00 vs $30.00). You can purchase the drugstore version, but do yourself the favor of using them right after you get your teeth cleaned as any staining and buildup (tartar or plaque) will impede their ability to work. Also, don't use fluoride toothpaste before putting the strips on (same reason). The strips are probably your best low price alternative, much less than in office whitening or custom trays (about $500.00). I am also hearing happy reviews with the Aquafresh whitening trays, unlike the strips they don't have the tendency to slip or move). All of the methods (strips, trays, custom trays, in office whitening) have the potential to make your teeth temporarily sensitive, but will not harm the enamel. You might try to drink dark liquids through a straw and don't smoke. Most whitening toothpastes just remove stain on the surfaces of your teeth and therefore are not so effective. The directions are on the back. hope this helps and good luck! =)) oh, p.s. here is what the back of my bottle of hydrogen peroxide says: oral debriding agent: -mix with an equal amount of water. -swish around in the mouth over the affected area for at least 1 miniute and then spit out. -use up to 4 times daily after meals and at bedtime or as directed by a dentist or doctor. oh...ellie secretly loves…was talking about baking soda.... well shes right too. it really does work.!!

It regards a company called 'white-again' teeth whitening gel?
I bought some of this gel lastt year from a beauty show in manchester, reputable I would have thought, at a cost of £30, not cheap. When I arrived home the gel had spilled all over the bag as the top was not on properly, I took it from the bag and then my fingers went white and were burning for about 5 hours, even after washing. I tried the website white-again.com, does not exist Tried to find a phone number--none! finally I wrote asking for a replacement and their thoughts. The letter was never returned nor did I receive a reply. Today that same show is on in Manchester and hey! the same stand is there. I spoke quietly to a man they directed me to who supposedly is the Manager, I asked what they would do, he offered firstly to replace it to which I said I would prefer a refund due to what happened, I also told him the product must be full of peroxide to burn in that way, I suggested he replace and also give another. He became extremely rude he was in fact obnoxious. I asked if he would rather I tell all his customers to which he walked away. I then went to the organizers to tell them what had happened and they are powerless to do anything. I have returned with the item. Can anyone help and advise me what to do I am a pensioner and can ill afford to lose £30
