What is the best way to whiten teeth?
i heard baking soda works well, & if it does, how do you do that? if not baking soda, what are some good AFFORDABLE whitening things to use? & i know of a lot of sites that give you a free sample, but are those true & do they really work? if so, which ones?

The free trials did work for me. There is a site with some articles about teeth whitening and how to get free trials.

Whitening ALL My Teeth?
Hey, So I was asking on what was the best way to whiten my teeth earlier this month, and a lot of people told me Crest Whitestrips worked well. After using the strips, I do see a big difference, but the thing is, ONLY MY FRONT TEETH ARE WHITENED! Yeah, only the part the strips were on were whiten, and all my other teeth are still quite yellowish. So now it looks kind of awkward and ill-proportioned. So my question today is, What is a good whitener that will whiten ALL my teeth? I was thinking of using the paste that you apply on your teeth, especially since it looks a lot more convenient than having to carry around strips for an hour a day. Any suggestions?
--------------------
I figured out a very good way to whiten teeth without anything expensive. One of the main reasons why teeth turn yellow is that there is built up plaque on the surface and whitening strips/pastes/etc. can't get past the plaque. I suggest doing this procedure but make sure to spend more time on the problem teeth. This works because once you scrape the plaque off, then the hydrogen peroxide solution can disinfect and whiten. 1. Be sure to floss really well. 2. Go buy a metal tooth scraper (you can get one at any Walmart--just ask someone if you can't find it) to remove the plaque off of your teeth--this is the same process used by dentists during regular cleanings and checkups!!! 3. After nothing else comes off of your teeth when scraping, (make sure to scrape all sides--and especially the fronts of your teeth because they're the main visible ones) then rinse with a solution of half hydrogen peroxide and half water. (Example: 1oz of water + 1oz hydrogen peroxide = 2oz of rinsing solution.) You should rinse with this solution for at least 30 seconds, preferrably 1 minute. Swish it around like you would mouthwash, but make sure not to swallow any! 4. Brush your teeth with normal toothpaste for at least two minutes and make sure not to miss a spot. (Hard-bristled brushes work the best.) 5. Finally rinse with the hydrogen peroxide solution (from step 3) again for 30 seconds. (You might want to rinse with water after this because this process will make your mouth a little dry. I usually have to drink some water after.) I don't suggest doing this more than once a week, however after you have done this more than two times you can use straight hydrogen peroxide without any water when rinsing. I guarantee that if you do a good job your teeth with be visibly whiter--usually after the very first time! This process has never failed for me and I have the whitest teeth that I've ever had in my entire life. Good luck!

What happens if you get Pro-White teeth whitening gel on your gums?
Ok, I have this clear gel in a small tube called Pro-White. It says it "uses oxygenating action just like your dentist"... Anyway, it says you shouldn't get it on your gums and if you do, wipe it off right away. The thing is, I've found that the best results I get are when I actually put it on my electric toothbrush and let the brush rub it in to the surface of my teeth. Naturally, when I do that, gel flows around and gets on my gums - and I'm sure my toothbrush has been right against the gums as well while doing this. So... my question is... What will happen if this stuff keeps getting on my gums and I don't wipe it off right away? Will my gums get pale or will there be damage to the tissue? I don't imagine it can be dangerous because then the company would get sued constantly. But I'd like to know what to expect if I keep doing it.

There could be some gum irritation just brush your teeth with it and wipe it off after your done brushing.

I am 8 wk preg. I colored my hair and had 5 min of teeth whitening. Worried!!!?
I am worried. Without realizing it, I had colored my own hair - (not scrubbing to roots and only in for 10 minutes, non-permenant and no-amonia.) And then another time I had put in my teeth whiting like normal for about five minutes before freaking out remembering that I might be pregnant. All of this has happened in the most important time - first trimester. All of these happened around 6 - 8 weeks. And of course, I have definitely found out I am pregnant. I had the ultrasound today. All looked really good. Strong heartbeat, size, etc. But that doesn't mean I didn't hurt the baby. Any worry relief????

which is better for whitening teeth?
crest vivid toothpaste or crest whitening strips? which works quicker?
--------------------
A combination of both would actually work best. use crest whitening strips sometime during the day, and brush your teeth with crest vivid toothpaste after every meal. after 2 weeks your teeth will look like brand new pearls. you actually start to see results after 1 week (at least i did with crest whitening strips) but i think 2 weeks would be ideal. Good Luck.

Does just putting toothpaste in your mouth while you shower whiten your teeth?
this is on top of ur regular brushing routine of course, right before shower, put on some toothpaste on ur teeth and proceed with ur shower, afterwards rinse out, will this eventually whiten teeth ?
--------------------
No. Regular toothpaste with no whitening ingredients won't whiten your teeth no matter how long you leave it in your mouth. Here is an article on ways to whiten your teeth other than using a whitening toothpaste: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article

Is there an effective way to whiten your teeth in a week?
Does anyone know of a good way to whiten your teeth without going to get them professionally done? I get my head shots in a week and want to look my best. Any products that you have tried that work, and are on the inexpensive side? Thanks

The dentist I go to gave me a home kit. It cost $40 and takes a couple of days. Otherwise get something at the drug store that has a dental tray and lots of hydrogen peroxide in gel form. Finally stay away from coffee, chocolate and wine. These can stain the teeth and make them darker.

Would you pay to have your teeth whitened?
I wouldn't I dont believe teeth are naturally white.

You're right, teeth aren't naturally white, in fact yellow teeth are much stronger and healthier than white - it's a fact my dentist told me. Really white teeth just don't look natural

Can I use whitening gel in invisalign braces?
I've got invisalign braces and would like to use bleaching gel to whiten my teeth. Normally it comes with custom fit trays, but I figure invisaligns would work just as well. It will save me a bunch of money to just buy the whitening gel. Can I?
--------------------
It might damage the invisaligns. I would wait until its almost time to change invisaligns to the next one if you must do it. I would also suggest calling the invisalign company and asking them about it, or maybe getting your teeth whitened at the dentist.

It's funny I found this question right now. I don't know if you have 25 dollars to throw around, and if you don't, I apologize for wasting your time. Today, though, I bought Crest White Strips (No, I'm not advertising them, I swear), and upon first use, less than an hour ago, I saw improvement. I used them again, and my teeth became another shade whiter. I was pretty flabbergasted. Sorry if this didn't help, but I'd highly recommend trying these if you can. *Edit: I'd just like to warn you: be careful, because baking soda is not so good for your enamel.

Whitening teeth? And a couple other questions..?
I'm getting my braces off fairly soon, most likely in a month or two. I will admit, I was a stubborn child and got in a horrible oral hygiene habit since I was about 9(I never wanted to brush my teeth). My teeth are yellow and I've heard of people who had noticeably lighter colored spots on their teeth. So here are my questions: 1. Does it cost money when they polish your teeth after they take off your braces? Or is it included? If so, does this also include bleaching? 2. I've heard the best home teeth whitener is rinsing with hydrogen peroxide and brushing with bakingsoda and toothpaste. Does it really work? And is it heathly? I already have sensitive teeth. If it does help, do you rinse before or after, or does it matter? Haha(: 3. Is it possible to brush too much? Or does it not matter how much you brush everyday? Thank you so much(:
--------------------
They will polish your teeth at no cost but they won't do bleaching for free. I also had bad hygiene when i had braces, and i got decalcification stains when i got them off. I personally would not try the baking soda thing. I got custom trays made from my dentist and they gave me bleach stuff and so far it has worked pretty good. I have had it for a week and it has whitened my whitened my teeth pretty quick. It was pretty expensive though.. it was $300. It's called Nite White. it is 22 % carbamide peroxide I http://www.smilox.com/smile/nite-white-2 Brushing your teeth won't make your teeth noticeably whiter though.

Best whitening solution for my teeth?
On my front two teeth I have some serious yellowness just in like a splotch.. Not covering the whole tooth. I am really uncomfortable with it and don't like to smile cause of it. The rest of my teeth do not have this and are fairly white. What would the best solution to get rid of this and make it all white be? No surgery plans please. I have been using peroxide and baking soda. Then rinsing with peroxide, twice a day for over a week (I know it's not the best thing for my teeth) I only drink milk and water. And try to stay away from dark foods do they don't stain my teeth more. I really would like this to go away. What is something I could buy that'll help. Whitening strips?

Also this are not expensive products and can be used from your home comfort, without great efforts. Hope this helps !

FYI, brushing will help with extrinsic stains, from the outside, but only whitening products like whitening strips will help with intrinsic stains, from within the tooth.

Best product to whiten teeth?
My teeth are not that yellow, but i want a bright white smile. Ive heard of many different products, but which ones actually work? Strips? pens? Whitening mouthwash?

Crest vivid white toothpaste and crest whitening strips. I have used the toothpaste for 7 to 8 years and it works great. I only use the strips a couple times a year for a touch up. They also have mouth rinses that help whiten teeth. If they cause sensitivity, then use the strips only a couple times a week till you reach the white color you would like. If they still cause sensitivity, then have a consult with your family dentist. Explain to the dentist that you want to whiten your teeth and they will tell you your best treatment option.

How can I whiten my teeth naturally and quickly?
I drink coffee and it stains my teeth, i should stop but its way too delicious, is there anything i can do to counteract this by lightening teeth naturally? Thanks
--------------------
You can start by drinking coffee through a straw. That way it would have less contact with your teeth. I love coffee too, and that helps a lot. And for toothpaste, I suggest using an Arm & Hammer baking soda toothpaste. It tastes awful, but it works. The toothpaste I use is Aquafresh Extreme Clean (with micro-active foaming action). Pick the one that says Whitening action. I love this toothpaste because it gives me that squeaky clean feeling and works great with whitening. Or, you could use a cleaning kit that gives you specific days of expected whitening. Those always help too.
