teeth whitening?

my daughter is 13 and wants whiter teeth. obviosly i dont want t get her anything too strong, i was thinking more a toothpaste. what would you sugest?
--------------------
The old standard of baking soda and peroxide helps a little bit and certainly cannot hurt her or her teeth in any way. Yet I would see a dentist about professional whitening as opposed to any tooth whitening system even Crest White Strips. Even in adults the use of CWS leads to sensitivity sometimes even in the first use. This would be bad enough for an adult to experience much less your teenage daughter. Good Luck!!!

Does anyone know teeth bleaching toothpastes? that are really effective? thats actually work and are affordable?
--------------------
Do, these Nature Cure : Dental care & mouth care. After every meal, chew a little salt and gargle with water. Soft brush can be used to clean the particles caught between the teeth and the gums. Make it habit to clean the teeth every morning and before retiring to bed. In India, people use thin twig of a Babul, Banyan or a Neem tree (known as Datoon) as a brush. First it is to be crushed to make it soft and then use it like a brush. It is advisable to us a Datoon of Babul, Banyan or Neem tree at least once a day. It is reported by experienced dentists that tooth pastes available in the marked are not much effective. Instead, the following tooth powder or paste which can be easily made at home has been found quite useful for the care of gums and teeth : 1. Tooth Powder : Mixture of finely ground alum powder 40% and rock salt or regular salt powder 60%. For better results, a few drops of lemon may be added. In case of dental problems, adding a little of 'Sudarshan' (a bitter Ayrvedic powder is also recommended. 2. Tooth-paste : For dental problemslike bleeding, pyorrhoea, toothache, etc. make a paste of 50% alum powder 10% rock salt or table salt powder 10% Sudarshan powder (an Ayurvedic preparation) 15% edible oil (unrefined) 10% glycerine tanic acid 5% camphor. The paste made of this mixture can be massaged on the teeth and gums in the morning and evening with fingers. It ca be packed in collapsible tubes/jars and used, as tooth-paste. 3. Even massaging the gums with a mixture of 70% unrefined edible oil (seasame or groundnut or coconut), 15% glycerine tanic acid and 15% fine powder of rock salt or table salt is useful for good, healthy teeth and gums. Make it a daily habit. Please not that healthy gums are more useful than sparkling white teeth. 4. Mouth Freshener : Gargling with a lemon juice mixed with lukewarm water, freshens the mouth. Take a quarter of a lemon, massage it on teeth and gums and then gargle with water. Even chewing of mango, tulsi or betel leaves after meals is good, and so it is advised in India. 5. Exercises for teeth : Keep the lips closed. Pound the upper teeth on lower teeth for 30 to 40 times twice a day. Then massage the saliva on gums with the tongue. That will ensure proper blood circulation in teeth and increase the life of healthy teeth and gums.

I have been using Crest Whitestrips for the last two weeks twice a day and my teeth are somewhat whiter, no compliments or anything by those who regularly see me though. I got two boxes because there was a special. Should I continue on to the second box? Can I increase the times I use them per day? I have followed instructions and my teeth have not become sensitive and my gums are the same if not better than they were before.
--------------------
if you want to keep teeth even whiter, have a talk with a dentist about the best teeth whitening kit and systems that are safe and effective before whitening your teeth. be sure to choose a teeth whitening that has quality ingredients that can be able to restore white teeth. you can also avoid culprits that can stain teeth like chocolates, tea, coffee, red wine, sauces, colas and more. also make it a habit to brush and floss teeth every after meal to remove stains caused by foods and drinks. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to keep teeth whiter.

What can I use to whiten my teeth without a dentist or whitening strips?

I brush and floss daily, but my teeth are still yellowish. I can't afford to get my teeth whitened by a dentist and I don't want to use whitening strips because they haven't helped before. I need suggestions on what I can possibly use instead and how do use it. Thank you!
--------------------
Try using baking soda mixed with toothpaste. It worked for me. Also, if you smoke and drink dark colored beverages stop because it doesn't help.

--------------------
DONT DO IT! I DID IT WHEN I HAD BRACES! I thought, "O, well, it will just even out after my braces r off if I keep using them". Well I was...WRONG! Been 3 years and the places r still there, and it sort of messed up my braces.

Apple cider vinegar can also be used for teeth whitening. More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-teethwhitening.blogspot.c…

Teeth Whitening?

My teeth have gotten pretty stained from coffee, wine, and smoking. Any suggestions on how to take care of this AS quickly as possible. I'm going on a big trip in 11 days, and I want a WHITE smile. I already have bleaching trays from the dentist, so if you have a bleaching gel to suggest... that would be great. I don't want the kind that you have to keep on over night. Just for 30 min. Also if you know of any home remedys. Also from EXPERIENCE only... how much does it cost (generally) to get them whitened in the dental office?? I know I shouldn't smoke.... blah blah blah!
--------------------
In addition to bleaching solution, whitening strips are increasingly being used as a preferred tooth whitening product. For instance, you are now able to get your hands on a set of Crest Whitestrips Supreme from any convenience store. The flexible, invisible strips are coated with an enamel-safe tooth bleaching gel. To whiten your teeth, you simply place the strips on your teeth and wear them for about 15 to 30 minutes each day. After a period of about 21 days, you should be able to see a significant difference on the brightness of your teeth. The most common option used as homemade teeth whitening agent is baking soda, which has a mild bleaching action. Given that it is used in baking, it also implies safety. Baking soda is sprinkled on the toothbrush, and teeth then cleaned using a gentle, circular motion. Care should still be taken though, especially for people with gum sensitivity. Old wives' recipes often state that a paste of baking powder, a little salt, and a few drops of white vinegar, works effectively. Salt, used exactly as baking soda, is also touted as being a good teeth whitener. However, it might just be its osmosis, dehydrating action that makes teeth appear whiter, since dehydrated teeth look whiter. Lemon juice is often used, but it had high acidic levels, so teeth can weaken in the long run. Other natural, fruit options regard rubbing the inside of an orange peel on the teeth. A strawberry cut in half and the inside rubbed on teeth also works. Mashed strawberry can also be applied with a toothbrush. Apple cider vinegar is also said to be effective. Dried orange rind, and walnut bark, is also good. For other effective home teeth whitening solutions, you may wish to read about them here : http://teeth-whitening.my-fashion-house.…

What should I use to completly whiten my teeth? Quickly!!!
--------------------
You can get in office whitening. It costs more but you see the results quicker. I also saw people doing it in the mall. However, I don't know the brand of whitening they are using and don't know what the results are like. The Zoom whitening works and so does the Sapphire. I've used both and my patients have really liked the results.

-Looking for something that won't make my teeth sensitive -Inexpensive (over the counter) -And will whiten the back of my teeth (I hear the white trays or strips do not reach that far) So anybody try anything that's good?
--------------------
Okay. I know this is going to sound weird but use baking soda. It tastes nasty at first but you teeth will be white and your gums will be pink it will even make your breath smell good too. Here's how to make it perfectly. Get a shot glass and pour water into it. Mix some baking soda in until it is thick. Brush your teeth with it and shove it into your gums. DON'T USE WHITENING STRIPS WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They will make your teeth weak. And after a while you will get yellow spots on your teeth... Good Luck and if this was helpful to you please put me as best answer!!!! THANKS!!!

Recently i have been thinking about having my teeth whitened, i mentioned it to my dentist who said my teeth were fine on this chart thing he had, but i would feel loads btter jus to whiten them up a bit more ... can anyone advise me how to go about it without paying the earth (wanting to pay up to £200)...??
--------------------
consulting a dentist is the best way to be able to choose the best, safe and effective teeth whitening system. he may recommend you a good teeth whitener that contains good quality ingredients that will not harm teeth and gums. some teeth whitening kits contain harmful ingredients that can cause gum problems. stained teeth are caused by the foods and drinks that you consume that can possibly discolor teeth like red wine, tea, coffee, colas and chocolates and more. it is best that you refrain from consuming them. if not, then you can use a straw when drinking. proper brushing and flossing will help remove stains after eating. visit http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com for more tips on how to whiten teeth.

Brush and floss your teeth thoroughly twice a day and rinse your mouth with water after finishing the normal brushing routine. I would personally suggest NuvoraWhite, which has helped me get back my white teeth. What is notable about this product is that it doesn't have any side effects. Can tooth whitening be convered by dental insurance? I want tot get mine whitened but the in office one costs hundreds of dollars that isn't covered by insurance? If not, does anyone know of a good in home tooth whitener that works really well and works quickly?
--------------------
Whitening most likely will NOT be covered by insurance because it's considered a cosmetic procedure. Insurance will only cover what needs to be done for health reasons...not to make you look good. I have used Whitestrips, and an occassional whitening toothpaste. You can also try "White Light" which uses a gel and a little blue light. I can notice a difference after just a few uses. If you want to just buy the gel, you can always use the sports mouthguards to keep the gel on your teeth without getting it all over. (Boil the mouthguard in water until it can move a little...then stick it in your mouth while it can still move but it's not too hot. If you bite down, it should form to the shape of your mouth and teeth.) Anyway, hope this helps...and good luck!

My best friend in the world whitened his teeth last week. He used bleach, baking soda and ammonia. They looked really white at first, but he's been in the county ER twice. What do y'all recommend for a home-aid teeth solution? Thanks.
--------------------
none! you need to get a solution that is meant for teeth. try crest white strips. also to prevent staining, do not smoke, drink red wine, dark sodas, tea or coffee. if you do make sure you brush with a whitening toothpaste immediatly afterwards.

hi! what are some ways to whiten your teeth? besides the Crest strips and such. i once heard there was something you could make with baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth. is that true? any others?
--------------------
Here is a ballpark cost range for what a dentist might charge for a single professional teeth whitening treatment. In some cases more than one treatment might be needed. $600 to $2000 Some dentists feel that their in-office bleaching treatments should be followed up with the use of an at-home whitener. If so, you can expect that there will be an additional cost for this additional treatment. A patient's costs might lie at the lower end of the price range stated above in those instances where a significant portion of the treatment process is performed by a staff member rather than solely the dentist. As another consideration, those dentists who incorporate an "activation" light or laser into the whitening process will have higher equipment costs than those who don't. These dentists will need to charge a relatively higher fee for their whitening treatments. All whitening products contain peroxide either as carbamide peroxide (CP) or hydrogen peroxide (HP). Peroxide dissolves the organic stains in the tooth to change the color and produce a whitened effect. There are four types of peroxide-containing tooth whitening products available: * In-practice products are applied by a dental professional. These products contain a high percentage of CP or HP and are applied directly to the teeth. Some activated by heat, light, or laser. This may be the product for you if you're in a hurry for whiter teeth and you don't have tooth sensitivity. For very dark-colored teeth, the whitening process can be sped up in two to three hours followed by a take-home product until the desired whiteness is achieved. * A take-home product supervised by a dentist is the most popular whitening method. These products contain a lesser percentage of CP or HP than in-practice products and are worn in a tray overnight or during the day at home. A custom-fitted tray is made to hold the whitening product directly against the teeth while lessening its contact with the gums. Some products have fluoride added to help prevent or treat mild tooth sensitivities. The typical stains of ageing will whiten in seven to fourteen days when the tray is worn overnight. * Over-the-counter (OTC) whitening products contain a small percentage of HP or CP. Caution should be used with these products as many contain an acidic solution that can wear away tooth enamel. OTC products use a bulky, one-size-fits-all tray to hold the product. Usually more product is swallowed than stays in the tray because of the trays poor fit against the teeth. It can take up to six months and the purchase of several kits to get whiter teeth. Flexible strips coated with whitening gel have recently been introduced as an OTC at-home tooth whitening method. The strips are worn on the front teeth and folded over to keep them in place. Results are reported to be noticeable after fourteen days and effective for 6 months. * Over-the-counter whitening toothpastes contain a small percentage of HP, CP, or polishing ingredient. The toothpastes are effective in keeping teeth cleaner and whiter looking but some may be very abrasive. The harsh abrasive will wear away the enamel with repeated use gradually making the teeth look yellow. Whitening toothpastes remove surface stains and prevent new stains from building up. Whitening toothpastes however aren't in contact with the teeth long enough to remove internal stains. Ask your dentist about the safety and cavity protection of specific toothpastes before you buy. Teeth Whitening !?

Ive had my braces off for about a year now and I want to whiten my teeth a wee bit ! There not gross and yellow there just not perfectly white! I dont want them hollywood white just a wee bit whiter than they are now ! Are there any home remedys for teeth whitening ? Ive heard you can use bircarbonate of soda ! How often do you and how do you use that to make your teeth whiter ? Does it really work ? How long does it take to work ? Ive also heard that crest whiterstrips are good ! Do they work well ? How long do they take to work ? How much do they cost roughly in british pounds ? Do you have to order them online ? Thanks !!

since you want your teeth a shade lighter, use a over the counter teeth whitener, like crest, etc. Using soda bicarbonate too can get some results, try hydrogen peroxide as well.

Teeth Whitening!!!?

Hey everyone, I was wondering what kind of over-the-counter-products would work well on teeth. I want my teeth to be white!! But I dont know what products I need to do that. So I was wondering if you guys could name a few.(Toothpaste,Strips,etc.) I heard alot a good things about crest whitening strips. I wants something that is safe too. Also thanks alot who answered :-)
--------------------
I use crest white strips and they work extremely well. They are priced fairly well too. I only use the regular ones. They have crest white strips premium, which are supposed to whiten teeth in five days. So if the originals work well, I'm sure the premiums would work even better. Also, my mom uses ultrabrite toothpaste. She says it helps, but is not as affective as whitening strips. However, it is only a dollar, so it might be worth trying it out.

teeth whitening?

hi all, i would like to know a home treatment for whitening my teeth, i brush them every morning and night but that doesnt seem to be enough
--------------------
I have had some patients use the Crest White Strips and they have had good results. I have used plenty of whitening toothpaste's and none of them are very effective. I made myself some whitening trays at my dental office and I use the solution that we order and I got great results. Try the Crest White Strips but if you done get really good results then you can always go to your dentist and have them make you the whitening trays. They are a little expensive and insurance does not cover them but you will be very satisfied with the results. Before you whiten your teeth you should use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth because the solution will make your teeth sensitive to cold. It will go away once you are done.

Teeth whitening??!?

Does anyone know a good teeth whitening system. Nothing too fancy or expensive. I just want something that'll look natural but not over the top. Basically a few shades different. Please anyone?!
--------------------
Probably going to the dentist for it is best, because they can use a controlled environment and help you figure out what's best. If not, I'm guessing strips would work better than toothpaste (toothpaste never seemed to do much for me back when I used some for a while). Any way you go, though, be careful: whitening is basically a process of stripping the outermost layer of your enamel, which weakens the teeth and can make you more susceptible to cavities and other problems. Don't go overboard!

I am looking to whiten my teeth. I checked out the Zoom whitening already, way too expensive. Just wanted to know what otc whitener is the best.
--------------------
The Listerine Strips are the best. I have tested them myself. You wear them for 15mins or so and they dissolve. Then you brush your teeth and you are done. A few of the other OTC strips slip while on your teeth.
