I tried everything from "Crest" Triple-Action Whitening mouthwash, and Crest Fresh Mint Extra Whitening protection and I still get the same results. Do these things actually whiten teeth?

I'm an orthodontist so take it from me, it all really depend on which ones you take, 1 session ones that you buy from the dentist definitely work, the ones you buy from the store sorta kinda work. It all depend on the brand you buy, see usually the most expensive store bought ones are the best and when you get those you have to use them continuously until told to stop otherwise they wont work, they have to work over time.

In my experience, strips work perfectly fine and use the exact same active ingredient found in professionally done teeth whitening procedures, just in lower concentrations. It may actually be better for your teeth to do it at home too, since whitening your teeth can make sensitive teeth even more sensitive, but at-home kits use lower concentrations and let you take breaks in between strips instead of forcing it all to be done in 1 hour. Dentists highly recommend Crest Whitestrips, best to go with Classic or Pro. Listerine's strips work equally well, if not better. Toothpaste on the other hand, does nothing. It's simply not on your teeth long enough for the hydrogen peroxide to do the trick. It's just another marketing gimmick. If your teeth ever get sensitive when using the strips, it doesn't hurt to take a day or two's break in between. I bought Crest Classic and although I'm supposed to use 2 strips/day, I use one every other day. My teeth have fillings and MANY cavities but did not get sensitive at all, despite having gotten many shades whiter after only using 1/6 of the box! i had the same problem with yellowish teeth and i found this product is very effective and very cheap http://www.maximumteethwhitening.com/ i use it on a regular basis and it keeps my teeth white and looking great. It only costs about $30 AUD including the tray for you teeth and a couple of syringes with the gel, Which is cheap compared to the dentist. I put my trays in about twice a week for an hour each and you can notice the difference straight away. I also use it before i have a special occasion and take it out right before i leave. I get lots of compliments on my white teeth which is great. they're also very straight which helps, lol once i had a friends mum ask me if I've been 'sucking on bleach'. haha she was over-exaggerating but you can definitely notice the before and after difference. It doesn't hurt your teeth it just feels a little uncomfortable with the tray in your mouth. I asked around heeps before buying any products and i compared prices, at one stage i was going to go to the dentist and get it professionally done but im sooo glad i tried this out. Ive actually ordered it twice within the past year and am using my second lot now. Also use teeth whitening toothpaste and brush your teeth at least twice a day, if you eat meals at home always brush your teeth after woulds to keep any stains of. And of course avoid coffee and coke if you really want to maintain your pearly whites :)

Has anyone gone through the teeth whitening procedure at the dentist's office?
My dentist has recommeded I try his bleaching treatment for my tetrcycline discloration. He said it may be painful and may not work! Has anyone gone through this treatment? He said he uses 30% bleach (?) and has gotten success with others. The price is going to be about $500.00. Am I being scamed?

Now that I have 2 young children, I'm addicted to coffee! I've noticed that my teeth are getting really discoloured. I have used the film kind- not a fan of those. Which has worked best for you? Even a whitening toothpaste is fine. I have VERY sensitive teeth (I'm already using sensodyne).

Just a friendly warning. Im getting married in Nov and I wanted to whiten my teeth a little. I was using Crest White Strips (the daily ones that work gradually over time). While the product was GREAT it did give me a gum infection because I had an allergic reaction to the ingrediants in the gel. An antibiotic cleared it up and everythings fine but I would talk to your dentist before using any whitening product. Good Luck!

Just a friendly warning. Im getting married in Nov and I wanted to whiten my teeth a little. I was using Crest White Strips (the daily ones that work gradually over time). While the product was GREAT it did give me a gum infection because I had an allergic reaction to the ingrediants in the gel. An antibiotic cleared it up and everythings fine but I would talk to your dentist before using any whitening product. Good Luck!

I used to smoke and drink tea so often that my teeth looks so yellow. I tried all these kind of white strips and tooth paste but they didn't work at all. Listerine Whitestrips(actually called Whitening Listerine Quick Dissolving Strips) they actually stick to your teeth. And the best part they dissolve, so you don't have to worry about removing it. Anyway check em' out. Or just paint your teeth white, with household paint.

Over the counter, crest whitestrips work ok...you can get a stronger strength of them from your dentist. Also the Rembrandt strips work good too. Really the best way is to get custom trays made at your dentist's office or do an in-office bleach, but those cost more. Try out the cheaper ways first, and if you don't get the results you want, you may need to do the more expensive bleaching.

Teeth whitening....?
I want my teeth white again...not that they look bad or anything but you know. Especially after having my braces removed. What is the best product you have used and can swear by. I really don't like the strips because they slide off. Anything else better?

I like crest white strips because you can buy ones that only take 3 days and they really work but my mom uses Aquafresh trays and she likes them a lot.. and her teeth are getting whiter so you can try them.. Hope this helps..

Hydrogen Peroxide... make sure to mix with water, and swish it around your mouth everyday before or after you brush your teeth.. in a few days you will begin seeing results =]

Hi, Peroxide is the active ingredient in the whiteners. A little in the cap is ok with your regular tooth paste. But dont over do it. And the baking soda tooth paste is good.
