I am planning to whiten my teeth and i read that you can do it by brushing your teeth with water peroxide mixed with baking soda but i dont know if that is going to cause any harm to my teeth or gums? is this a healthy thing to do and if it is do i brush my teeth with that all the three times?? please help and explain how would it work and what are the side effects? thank you : )

i have been doing this for years... just basically make a paste of water, peroxide....and baking soda...and brush your teeth...daily there is almost nothing safer than peroxide and baking soda......

How much does it cost on average to get teeth whitened?
At a dentist...and I have no insurance.

I once spent $500 on Britesmile and I was very happy. But Listerine Vibrant White Pre-Brush Rinse does the same thing immediately!

Can I use whitening gel in invisalign braces?
I've got invisalign braces and would like to use bleaching gel to whiten my teeth. Normally it comes with custom fit trays, but I figure invisaligns would work just as well. It will save me a bunch of money to just buy the whitening gel. Can I?
--------------------
It might damage the invisaligns. I would wait until its almost time to change invisaligns to the next one if you must do it. I would also suggest calling the invisalign company and asking them about it, or maybe getting your teeth whitened at the dentist.

whats a quick way to whiten your teeth at home?
okay so i want to whiten my teeth like really fast from home. any ideas?

It's funny I found this question right now. I don't know if you have 25 dollars to throw around, and if you don't, I apologize for wasting your time. Today, though, I bought Crest White Strips (No, I'm not advertising them, I swear), and upon first use, less than an hour ago, I saw improvement. I used them again, and my teeth became another shade whiter. I was pretty flabbergasted. Sorry if this didn't help, but I'd highly recommend trying these if you can. *Edit: I'd just like to warn you: be careful, because baking soda is not so good for your enamel.

Whitening teeth? And a couple other questions..?
I'm getting my braces off fairly soon, most likely in a month or two. I will admit, I was a stubborn child and got in a horrible oral hygiene habit since I was about 9(I never wanted to brush my teeth). My teeth are yellow and I've heard of people who had noticeably lighter colored spots on their teeth. So here are my questions: 1. Does it cost money when they polish your teeth after they take off your braces? Or is it included? If so, does this also include bleaching? 2. I've heard the best home teeth whitener is rinsing with hydrogen peroxide and brushing with bakingsoda and toothpaste. Does it really work? And is it heathly? I already have sensitive teeth. If it does help, do you rinse before or after, or does it matter? Haha(: 3. Is it possible to brush too much? Or does it not matter how much you brush everyday? Thank you so much(:
--------------------
They will polish your teeth at no cost but they won't do bleaching for free. I also had bad hygiene when i had braces, and i got decalcification stains when i got them off. I personally would not try the baking soda thing. I got custom trays made from my dentist and they gave me bleach stuff and so far it has worked pretty good. I have had it for a week and it has whitened my whitened my teeth pretty quick. It was pretty expensive though.. it was $300. It's called Nite White. it is 22 % carbamide peroxide I http://www.smilox.com/smile/nite-white-2 Brushing your teeth won't make your teeth noticeably whiter though.

You can mix baking soda with H2O2 tyo make a paste or you can just pour a little baking soda into the palm of your hand (not the one you are holding your brush in...), moisten your brush, and then pick up some baking soda by dipping the bristles into the baking soda as often as you need to replenish it.

Lemon juice, baking soda or baking powder can also be used for teeth whitening. Strawberries are natural teeth whiteners, simply rub them directly on your teeth or mash into a paste and apply. Apple cider vinegar can also be used for teeth whitening. More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://useinfo-teethwhitening.blogspot.c

Has anyone tried Celebrity Sexy Teeth (a teeth whitening product)? If so, does it work?
I've tried all the drugstore stuff and it's not working. I've been hearing stuff about this product. Here's their website. https://www.celebritysexyteeth.com/defau
I just want to know if it will really work or if it's a waste of money. Let me know if you have tried it either way! My teeth are really discolored and I'm beginning to think veneer is my only option and that's sooooo expensive!

What they are doing is basically bleeching your teeth back to the color they were before staining. Normally use peroxide or baking soda. I would assume they would also use ultra violet light at the dentist office and use stronger formulas of the baking soda and peroxide than you can get in the stores.

Lumps, spots/warts, worms and teeth whitening ?
Okay, problems: Worms in the anus white little lots of them mainly at night time, what is the name of them plus what kind of medicine name could you use to stop it? Spot on the face came up on the same space where a wart I used to have was, now its a little bump that is red it hurts, could this be another wart or is it a spot that will go? Lump again on the anus: small, and is like plain skin what is it? Can I get it frozen off? Teeth whitenning: what are the damages and the side effects?
--------------------
Those kind of worms are called Threadworms, and the correct medication is Ovex (however Boots do their own brand which is the equivalent). You can't stop there though, you must hoover everything and everywhere in your house (including your mattress and sofas) and damp-dust everywhere also as you will just re-infest yourself. You must boil wash all your bedding and towels and make sure anyone else in the house takes the tablet and has the same cleaning process. You must also try to avoid putting your hands near your mouth, making sure they are clean, which I'm sure you know. They are a nuisance and make you feel dirty, but if their are children around, it sometimes can't be helped, so make sure they are aware of personal hygiene etc as well. I'm afraid I do not want to risk advising you on the lump left behind from the wart as I am not sure. However the lump on your anus could well be a skin tag. These can be cauterised by your GP (if they have a cauterising machine) with a local anaesthetic. However if it is in a more complex position your doctor may advise you otherwise. With teeth whitening, if done by a knowledgeable dentist then any risks should be minimal, generally kits you buy yourself are either too mild to be beneficial, or not particularly good for your teeth or gums. Hope this has been of some help take care

What are the best teeth whiteners?
I want to whiten my teeth, but I don't want to buy something that isn't going to work. What is the best teeth whitener? Also, would insurance cover a professional teeth whitening procedure? Thanks.
--------------------
I have gotten professional teeth whitening called ZOOM. Most dentist have this. It is basically a light thats they put over your teeth for 45 minutes to 60 minutes. It is not covered by insurance. It costs about $200- $300. A cheaper alternative is Crest Advanced White strips. These are about $30

How many shades lighter can an overnight bleaching gel do for one set of teeth?
for teeth whitening
--------------------
Overnight bleaching of teeth is not very effective. It take several week for OTC whiteners to work. This is due in part because of the lower amount of chemical used for comsumer saftey. You can go to a dentist and have a one day treatment done that would have better results then 3 weeks of overnight whiteners but you are going to pay a bit more too. So if your trying to get them white fast see a good dentist with a whitening process that uses utlraviolet light, that is the fastest results you can get.

What should I use to whiten my teeth?
I've heard bad things about teh Aquafresh whitening trays, the gel tastes aweful, the trays dont go over all of your teeth, and they dont whiten your teeth at all... There are lots of crest whitening strips and stuff at the local market, but the only trays are aquafresh so I think I will stay away from those unless I'm convinced that they work. If you whiten your teeth, what did you use to whiten them? THANKS! =D

wat do i do?! my teeth are pretty yellow and i wanted to whitening them again in like a week but i dont think im gona be able to handle it cuz even when the air hits them or i brush they hurt i keep getting sharp pains in em
--------------------
Oh yeah..they intend to do that. just because you had your braces off doesn't mean its the cause of making it sensitive. I had my braces off for years now and they also got sensitive with that whitening and I didn't go through with it. If you want your teeth whiter you will probably be better off having them laser. It takes an hour but they should be at least 4 shades whiter. The only thing is that it is pretty pricey. Do not use the whitening anymore until your teeth get better. They will stop being sensitive soon.??

Omg, what the HELL?! About teeth whitening?
Okay, so I was just using those Aquafresh Whitening Trays and I only kept them on for like 20 min instead of 30 because my gums were starting to hurt. I took them out and rinsed... and my gums are WHITE where it was hurting. What the HELL?! It doesn't really hurt anymore, it's just weird and I'm worried something else might be wrong... does anyone know what happened and why my gums look like this? Will the color come back eventually??? Thanks. :)
--------------------
the same thing happened to me with a different whitening product. it seems like my gums were blistered so its probably the same case with yours. the color did come back after a day or so, so no worries there. since that happened i have used the product numerous times with no problems. if you do decide to use the product again try going for even less of a time. hope i helped in some way:)

Question for a Dentist about the cost of Whitening Teeth / 10 pts?
Think about this long and hard. A cell phone that fits into the palm of your hand....you can call people with them....take pictures....store pictures and data....and for god sake even browse the internet. 30 years ago no one would have imagined such an incredible thing. Technoligy is amazing. OK GETTING TO THE POINT....you can buy these cell phones sometimes for less than $100. If you think about it that is amazing....SO ON TO MY QUESTION.... Why is it that there is NO DENTIST who can just whiten someones teeth for less than $300? Wtf......THAT IS PATHETIC!

Some people have very good success with over the counter bleaching. It is affordable, $50, it is convenient (at home). The strength of over the counter bleaching material is about 1/2 of what is used in dental offices, so it costs half as much, you must buy twice the number of at home bleaching kits, so you end up spending much more than the initial price on the one box. Here's what a dentist will do when you come it to bleach: 1) diagnose any existing oral disease. (some people have tooth staining which cannot be removed through bleaching, it may need micro abraision, internal bleaching, veneers/crown, many people think they need bleaching when they really just need a professional cleaning). so you may spend $100's of dollars on over the counter bleaching before finding out that you were wasting your money. 2) developing comprehensive treatment plan (including esthetics and bleaching treatments) 3) making custom bleaching trays (this requires an assistant to take and impression, pour up stone models, then a lab technitian uses models to make a custom bleaching tray which fits your mouth perfectly). The custom tray fits more accurately around teeth which reduces amount of bleaching material which may leak out and irritate gums (burning gums). The custom tray also allows for a more even distribution of the bleaching material which gives a more uniform whitening result (spotty or non-uniform bleaching results is a common complaint with over the counter bleaching trays because they do not have a custom fit). 4) Follow up with dentist to determine effectiveness of bleaching treatments. At follow ups the dentists may change how frequently you bleach, the bleaching product used, deal with sensitivity issues, and identify problem areas. 5) dentist can treat problem areas (areas with do not bleach uniformly due to hypocalcification, fluorosis, or deep staining) to provide a beautiful final result.

Lot of people do face problems with yellow teeth. The reason for yellow teeth can be less calcium, smoking or coffee. Dentists world over do not recommend use of such pure form substances on teeth as they harm your teeth in longer run. Is it possible to whiten teeth with baking soda/ hydrogen peroxide?
On a few sites i've read that you can either brush with baking soda or hydrogen peroxide (or both) to whiten your teeth in 2-3+ months. I'm just wondering if anyone knows from experience if that is possible and if there are any side effects to brushing with those. My teeth aren't crazy yellow but they look like they're starting to change color so i'm trying to get a headstart on this before they become more yellow.

Yes. Most teeth whitening products have these ingredients in them. Don't waste your money. Swish with hydrogen peroxide before you brush every night. You'll notice a difference after about a week. Check out some of my "source" web pages below for extra tips.

I have a tooth implant and I'd like to whiten my teeth. What's the best way to do so?
If I bleached my teeth or used any whitening products, I think they'd change the color of my actual teeth, but would they change the color of my implanted tooth? I don't think they would. And if I can't use those products, what is the best way to get a whiter smile?
